Display and Crown/Buttons
Description of analogue watch face and digital display elements.
Buttons:
- Button D: Light
- Button A: Start/Stop
- Button C: Mode
- Button B: Reset
Crown Positions:
- a: Normal position
- b: Extended position
Mode Cycling:
Pressing Button C cycles through modes in the following order:
- Normal Time mode
- Stopwatch mode
- Alarm mode
- Time Setting mode
Illuminating Light (EL Backlight)
Press Button D in any mode to turn on the illuminating light.
Note: The electroluminescent panel's luminance decreases with battery voltage and use. Replace batteries when the light becomes dim.
Screw Down Crown
[For models with screw down crown]
Unlocking the Crown
- Turn Crown counterclockwise until threads no longer turn.
- Crown can be pulled out.
Locking the Crown
- Push Crown back to normal position.
- Turn Crown clockwise while pressing lightly until tight.
Time/Calendar Mode
Analogue Time Setting
Pull out the crown when the second hand is at the 12 o'clock position. The second hand will stop.
Turn the crown to set the hour and minute hands to the correct time.
Push the crown back in simultaneously with a time signal.
Digital Time/Calendar Setting
- Press Button C until the watch enters the TIME SETTING mode.
- Press Button B to select the item to be adjusted (Second, Hour, Minute, 12-/24-hour format, Day of week, Date, Month).
- Press Button A to set the flashing digits.
- Press Button C to confirm settings and return to NORMAL TIME mode.
Notes:
- Setting seconds: If Button A is pressed when seconds are 30-59, one minute is added and seconds reset to 00. If pressed when seconds are 00-29, seconds reset to 00 without changing minutes.
- Hour setting: "H" indicates 24-hour format; "A" or "P" indicates 12-hour format.
Alarm
- Press Button C until the watch enters ALARM mode.
- Press Button B to show the ALARM SETTING display (hour digits flash).
- Press Button B to select the item to be adjusted (Hour, Minute).
- Press Button A to set the flashing digits.
- Press Button C to confirm alarm settings and return to NORMAL TIME display.
Engagement/Disengagement of the Alarm
Press Button A in ALARM setting mode to alternately engage or disengage the alarm and chime. The alarm and chime indicators will appear or disappear on the display.
How to Stop the Alarm Manually
While the alarm is sounding, press either Button A or Button B.
Snooze Function
Press Button C to turn the snooze function on or off. When enabled, the alarm stops temporarily and sounds again after 5 minutes for 20 seconds, then stops automatically.
Stopwatch
Measures up to 23 hours 59 minutes 59 seconds in 1/100-second increments.
Press Button C until the watch enters STOPWATCH mode.
- Button A: Start/Stop/Restart
- Button B: Split/Reset
Standard Measurement
Sequence: Start (A) → Stop (A) → Reset (B)
Split Time Measurement
Sequence: Start (A) → Split (B) → Split Release (B) → Stop (A) → Reset (B)
Measurement and release of split time can be repeated by pressing Button B.
Battery Change
Battery life: Approx. 2 years.
Batteries:
- SEIKO SR626SW, 1 piece (for analogue display)
- SEIKO CR2025, 1 piece (for digital display)
Notes:
- Stopwatch usage over 60 minutes/day may reduce battery life.
- Replace both batteries if either runs down.
- Factory-installed batteries may have shorter actual life.
- Replace expired batteries promptly.
- Contact an AUTHORIZED PULSAR DEALER for battery replacement.
WARNING
- Do not remove battery.
- Keep batteries out of reach of children. Consult a doctor if swallowed.
- Never short-circuit, tamper with, heat, or expose battery to fire.
CAUTION
- Battery is not rechargeable. Do not attempt to recharge.
To Preserve the Quality of Your Watch
Water Resistance
- Non-water resistant: If "WATER RESISTANT" is not inscribed on the case back. Avoid moisture.
- Water resistance (3 bar): With "WATER RESISTANT" inscribed. Withstands splashes/rain, not for swimming/diving.
- Water resistance (5 bar): With "WATER RESISTANT 5 BAR" inscribed. Suitable for swimming, yachting, shower.
- Water resistance (10 bar/15 bar/20 bar): With corresponding inscriptions. Suitable for bath, shallow diving, not scuba diving.
Important Notes for Water Use:
- Ensure crown is pushed in completely before water use.
- Do not operate crown when watch is wet or in water.
- Rinse in fresh water and dry completely after use in sea water.
- When showering (5 bar) or bathing (10/15/20 bar), do not operate crown when wet. Warm water may cause slight time deviation, corrected when watch returns to normal temperature.
NOTE on Pressure: Bar ratings are test pressures, not actual diving depths.
Temperatures
- Optimal accuracy: 5°C to 35°C (41°F to 95°F).
- High temperatures (>50°C / 122°F) may cause battery leakage or shorten life.
- Low temperatures (<-5°C / 23°F) may cause slight time loss/gain, corrected when watch returns to normal temperature.
Care and Precautions
Magnetism
Watch is adversely affected by strong magnetism. Keep away from magnetic objects.
Shocks & Vibration
Light activities are fine. Avoid dropping or hitting against hard surfaces.
Chemicals
Avoid contact with solvents, mercury, cosmetic spray, detergents, adhesives, or paints to prevent discoloration or damage.
Care of Case and Bracelet
Wipe periodically with a soft dry cloth to prevent rust from dust, moisture, and perspiration.
Periodic Check
Recommended every 2-3 years by an AUTHORIZED PULSAR DEALER or SERVICE CENTER to ensure seals are intact.
Precaution Regarding Case Back Protective Film
Peel off any protective film or sticker on the case back before using the watch.
