Product Overview
The IONODES PERCEPT DCK1 is a single-unit docking station designed to charge PERCEPT Body Cameras. It supports QuickCharge 3.0 technology, delivering up to 18W for rapid charging. The docking station also facilitates the offloading of recorded data to a dedicated storage platform via its onboard GbE RJ45 port. Power is supplied via a 12VDC input, with a compatible power adapter included.
Getting Started
To begin using the PERCEPT DCK1 Docking Station, insert the PERCEPT Body Camera into the cradle. The cradle is designed for a single orientation, ensuring the camera lens faces the user. The docking station operates transparently within Video Management Systems (VMS) by replicating the MAC address and network settings of the docked body camera.
Understanding Operation and Status
LED Indicators
The docking station features LED indicators for status monitoring:
- RJ45 Port LEDs: Indicate network connection speed (1 Gbps or 10/100 Mbps) and activity.
- Status LED: Shows the current mode: solid orange for 'Charging mode' and solid green for 'Online (Data transfer) mode'.
Charging and Data Offloading Modes
When a body camera is docked, it can operate in two primary modes:
- Charge Mode: The camera battery is charged, Wi-Fi is active, and the Ethernet connection is disabled.
- Online Mode: The camera battery is not charging, Ethernet is active, and Wi-Fi is disabled.
The system automatically transitions between these modes based on battery level, network connectivity, and activity timeouts. Detailed definitions for terms like 'Battery Level Sufficient' and 'Activity Timeout' are provided within the full manual.
Care and Cleaning
To ensure optimal performance and longevity, follow these guidelines:
- Keep the product away from corrosive substances.
- Ensure the product is completely dry before charging.
- Clean the product using a non-abrasive, solvent-free neutral soap or detergent with water.
- Use a soft microfiber cloth or a moist non-abrasive sponge for cleaning.
- Dry with a soft cloth to prevent water spotting.
Avoid using solvents like thinner or benzene, as they can damage the product's surface. Do not use abrasives, which can scratch the lens cover and degrade image quality.
Docking Station States
The docking station provides feedback on its operational status and that of the docked body camera through various indicators:
Body camera/docking station state | Feedback on Body Camera (Front Status LED / OLED text) | Feedback on Docking Station (Status LED / RJ45 port LEDs) |
---|---|---|
Powered On and Idle (No Body Camera Attached) | N/A | Orange / OFF |
Charging Body Camera | Flashing Yellow / Charging... Level(%) | Orange / OFF |
Body Camera Fully charged | Returns to previous state | Orange / OFF |
Offloading Data from Body Camera | N/A | Green / Green/Yellow (flashing on activity) |
Note: The PERCEPT Body Camera's top LED will mirror the docking station's status LED when docked.
Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues and their resolutions:
Symptom | Possible Cause | Resolution |
---|---|---|
Body camera does not charge when connected to the dock | Dock is not connected to mains power or uses an incompatible power adapter. | Connect the dock to a power outlet using a compatible power adapter. |
Charging is too slow | "Allow Live Media Streaming When Docked" option is enabled on the body camera. | Disable this option via the body camera's web interface. |
Cannot offload data via the GbE RJ45 port | No network connection or faulty connection. | Check the integrity of the Ethernet cable and network switch connected to the docking station. |
Cannot offload data via the GbE RJ45 port | Body camera is not in Online mode. | Ensure the body camera is in Online (Data transfer) mode, not Charging mode. |
