Installing the Dash Cam in the Car

1. Insert TF memory card ?.
2. Peel off the anti-static sticker ?️ and choose a suitable location for installation.
3. Peel off the adhesive tape ? from the dash cam mount ⛰️.
4. Attach the camera to the anti-static sticker ?️.
5. The camera can be rotated ? to adjust the recording angle. [Press this button ?]
6. The power cable ? can be hidden as shown in the illustration.

App Installation

1. Download the "KAWA AUTO" app by scanning the QR code ?.
2. Open the "KAWA AUTO" app, tap the "➕" icon in the upper right corner, select "KAWA Dash Cam D5 Gen 2", and follow the in-app instructions.

Connecting Your Phone

Connect your phone to the dash cam's hotspot ?.

• Hotspot Name: KAWA_D5 G2_XXXX
• Default Password: 12345678 ?

Note:

• (1) For the first recording, connect to the app. You can disconnect the app after recording starts.
• (2) If VPN is enabled, please disable it before connecting to the dash cam.
• (3) If you forget the password, press the reset button ? 5 times to restore the default password.

TF Memory Card User Guide

1. Requirements:

• Supports capacities from 16GB-256GB and must be Class 10 or higher.
• It is recommended to use high-speed cards from trusted brands. Low-quality cards may cause video abnormalities or card damage.

2. Initial Setup:

• After inserting the card ? for the first time, format the card using the dash cam.
• Back up important data before formatting (formatting will erase all data).

3. Regular Maintenance:

• Format once a month ?️ to maintain read/write performance.
• Avoid inserting or removing the card ? while the camera is powered on.
• If read/write errors ❌ or capacity abnormalities occur due to repeated writing, replace the card immediately.

Explanation of Important Functions

1. Loop Recording:

When the TF card ? is full, the oldest video file will be automatically overwritten to allow continuous recording. Loop recording duration can be set in the app (1/2/3 minutes).

• For the best user experience, video clips are limited to a maximum of 3 minutes when using a 256GB memory card.

2. G-Sensor ?:

When the car experiences a collision or strong vibration, the camera will automatically start emergency video recording and lock that video.

3. Parking Mode ?️ (Requires optional hardwire kit):

When connected to the hardwire kit, 24-hour surveillance mode can be enabled. The camera will automatically record and lock the file if a collision occurs while parked.

4. Time-Lapse Mode ⏳ (Requires optional hardwire kit):

After connecting the hardwire kit, enable this feature via the app to enable 24-hour surveillance. A 30-minute video will be compressed into 1 minute to save storage space.

5. Video Recording Screen Rotation ?:

The video orientation can be rotated 180° in the app settings, and the recorded video will be saved in the album.

6. Voice Control ?️:

While using the dash cam, simply speak the designated voice commands to activate functions.

• Voice commands support English, Japanese, French, Russian, Thai, and Vietnamese. For other languages, please use English commands.

Please use the car's USB port or the provided USB cable/power adapter ? (sold separately). If using third-party accessories, ensure the output voltage does not exceed 5V, as higher voltages may damage the device.

1. Installation:

• The dash cam is powered via the car's 12V power outlet or USB port. For stable connection, use only the accessories provided with the product.
• Only use accessories specified in the manual. Using non-standard accessories may cause damage, fire, or malfunction.
• Do not install in locations with high temperatures ?️, such as near the air conditioner vent or heater (door).
• Do not install in a location that obstructs the driver's view of safety systems (e.g., airbags, warning lights) or interferes with safe driving.

2. Usage and Environment:

• Operating Temperature ?️: -20°C to 70°C (-4°F to 158°F).
• Avoid using harsh chemicals, strong magnetic fields, or strong static electricity to protect the device.
• Clean the device with a dry cloth.
• If the device is not used for a long period, the clock ⏰ may become inaccurate. Reconnect to the app ? to adjust the time.

1. TF Card Not Recognized (Prompting to format): The TF card ? needs to be compatible with the camera. Please follow the instructions. Replace the card if necessary.
2. Phone Displays "Cannot connect to Wi-Fi" (No internet connection): Ignore this message and reconnect to the camera via the app ?.
3. Video Not Found: Go to the app ?, select "Playback" > "Album" to view all videos ?.
4. Camera Not Recording Video: Reset the camera ? or try replacing the TF card ?.
5. Frequent Emergency Recordings: Adjust sensitivity settings ⚙️ or disable this function.
6. Forgot Hotspot Password: Press the power button ? 5 times to reset ?. The system will restore the default password to 12345678 ?.
7. App Freezing or Errors ❌: Avoid using the camera's Wi-Fi ? in areas with many other devices or strong interference.
8. Cannot Connect to Camera: Check the app's usage permissions for KAWA AUTO on your phone ?. If necessary, restart the app and try connecting again.
