Set Up Your Smart Plug
1. Install Smart Life app
Download the Smart Life app from the App Store or Google Play.
[Get it on Google Play] [Download on the App Store]
2. Connect the Smart Plug
Open the Smart Life app, turn on your phone's WiFi and Bluetooth settings, and add a new device. Select "Socket (Wi-Fi)" or "Socket (BLE)" to connect the smart plug. Follow the step-by-step instructions within the app to complete the setup.
The app interface shows categories like "Electrician", "Lighting", "Large Home A...", "Small Home A...", "Kitchen Appliances", "Security & Sensors", "Exercise & ". Within these, "Socket" options include "Socket (Wi-Fi)", "Socket (ZigBee)", "Socket (BLE)", "Socket (NB)", and "Socket (other)". "Power Strip" options are also available.
App Operation Instructions
1. Manual Mode
Tap the ? button to turn the socket on or off manually.
The app displays the current temperature (e.g., "Current temperature 27°C") and options for "Cooling", "Countdown", and "Setting".
2. Simple Thermostat Mode
Select the heating or cooling mode and then adjust the target temperature. IMPORTANT: You must adjust the target temperature to activate the Simple Thermostat Mode, even if the currently displayed target temperature is already your desired temperature.
The app interface shows the current temperature and allows adjustment via up/down arrows. Options include "Heating", "Countdown", and "Setting".
3. Countdown Mode
Tap the ⏰ button to choose Countdown Mode. The timer is optional, ranging from 1 to 60 minutes. When the timer expires, the thermostat will automatically turn off. Warm Tip: If you want the socket to turn on after the set time, manually turn off the socket first, then set the countdown mode, and vice versa.
The app displays "Countdown: Turn on after [time]".
4. Programmable Thermostat Mode
Tap the ⚙️ button and then turn on the "Weekly program (multi-stage)" option to activate Programmable Thermostat Mode.
IMPORTANT: When setting the weekly programming, select the heating or cooling mode in advance on the home page.
The app settings include options like "Week Program", "Temperature unit", "Temperature calibration", "Factory data reset", and "Weekly program (multi-stage) on/off".
Setting the 7-Day Schedule:
Tap "Week Program" to start setting your 7-day flexible scheduling. Up to 4 time periods can be set per day. Press and hold the week icon to copy the current settings to another day.
Example Schedule:
- Period 1: 06:00, target temperature: 33°C
- Period 2: 08:00, target temperature: 25°C
- Period 3: 17:00, target temperature: 18°C
- Period 4: 22:00, target temperature: 26°C
Temperature Control Breakdown:
- 06:00~08:00: 33°C
- 08:00~17:00: 25°C
- 17:00~22:00: 18°C
- 22:00~06:00: 26°C
Advanced Settings:
- Temperature unit: Select °C or °F.
- Temperature calibration: Calibrate the current temperature.
- Target temperature lower offset: This value determines how many degrees deviation from the target temperature the thermostat should use to turn the socket on/off. The default is 0, corresponding to ±1°C. For example, if the target temperature is 25°C in heating mode, and the lower offset is set to 1, the socket will turn on at 23°C (25°C – 1°C tolerance – 1°C offset).
- Target temperature upper offset: Similar to the lower offset, this affects when the socket turns off. For example, with a target of 25°C and an upper offset of 1, the socket will turn off at 27°C (25°C + 1°C tolerance + 1°C offset).
- Compressor restart delay (min): Effective only in cooling mode. A delayed start after the target temperature is reached to protect the compressor, e.g., in window air conditioners.
- On/Off (power restored & network failure): Default is OFF. If set to "OFF", the thermostat will automatically turn off if power or network fails. If set to "ON", it will automatically turn on upon power restoration. This is a safety setting.
- Heating Temp Limit (Week Prog Offline): When a weekly heating program is set, this defines the maximum allowed temperature in heating mode if the network fails, to protect electrical appliances and prevent fires.
- Cooling Temp Limit (Week Prog Offline): When a weekly cooling program is set, this defines the minimum allowed temperature in cooling mode if the network fails, to protect electronic devices and save energy.
