PC Recording
To get started with PC recording, download the Elgato 4K Capture Utility.

Connection Steps:
Connect the capture device to your PC via USB. Ensure the device is powered. The device requires a minimum of 5V and 2.4A.

LED Status Indicators:
- Standby: Slow flashing
- Booting: Flashing
- Recording: Slow flashing
- Error message: Rapid flashing (Indicates issues like no signal, HDCP conflict, SD card error, SD card locked, SD card full, or SD card too slow)
SD Card Recording
For SD card recording, only the POWER port needs to be connected. Do not connect USB to your PC. Use only the power supply shipped with your product.
Connection Steps:
Connect the capture device to its power supply. The device requires a minimum of 5V and 2.4A.

SD Card Requirements:
- Minimum SD card speed: UHS Class 3 / V30
- Formatting: FAT32 or exFAT
⚠️ Important: To avoid file corruption, do not remove the SD card immediately after recording has stopped (while recording is being processed). Wait until the red LED stops flashing rapidly.
LED Status Indicators:
- Standby: Slow flashing
- Booting: Flashing
- Ready to start recording (requires valid input signal): Slow flashing
- SD card recording: Slow flashing
- Processing SD card recording: Rapid flashing
- Error message: Rapid flashing (Indicates issues like no signal, HDCP conflict, SD card error, SD card locked, SD card full, or SD card too slow)
LED Codes Explained
The LED status light indicates the current state of the device.
Status | Description |
---|---|
Standby (Slow flashing) | Device is powered on and waiting for input or command. |
Booting (Flashing) | Device is starting up. |
Recording (Slow flashing) | Device is actively recording. |
Processing SD card recording (Rapid flashing) | The device is saving recorded data to the SD card. |
Error message (Rapid flashing) | Indicates an issue such as no signal, HDCP conflict, SD card error (locked, full, or too slow), or other operational problems. |
