Thank you for purchasing the VTech CS6719 cordless telephone. This manual provides essential information for setting up and using your new phone.
Important Safety Instructions
Always follow basic safety precautions when using telephone equipment to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury. Key precautions include:
- Read and understand all instructions.
- Unplug before cleaning; use a damp cloth.
- Do not install the base near water or in wet areas.
- Avoid extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, and blocking ventilation openings.
- Operate only with the specified power source.
- Do not allow anything to rest on the power cord.
- Never push objects into product openings or spill liquids.
- Do not disassemble; contact authorized service for repairs.
- Unplug if the power cord is damaged, liquid has spilled, or the product is damaged.
- Avoid using cordless phones during electrical storms.
- Do not use the phone to report a gas leak in the vicinity of the leak.
- Use only the provided rechargeable batteries (BT162342/BT262342) and adapter.
- Keep wireless phones at least six inches from pacemakers.

What's in the Box

Install and Connect
Install the battery:
- Open the battery compartment on the handset.
- Insert the battery pack, observing correct polarity.
- Secure the battery compartment cover.
Connect the telephone base:
- Connect the telephone line cord to the telephone jack and the telephone base.
- If you have DSL service, connect a DSL filter (not included) to the telephone wall jack.
- Plug the power adapter into the telephone base and a wall outlet.
Charge the handset:
- Place the handset in the telephone base or charger.
- The charging light on the base will turn on. Allow approximately 12 hours for a full charge.
Setup Overview
After installation or power restoration, the handset will prompt you to set the date and time.
Set Date and Time:
- When prompted, enter the date (MM/DD/YY) and press SELECT.
- Enter the time (HH:MM AM/PM) and press SELECT.
- Press q/p to select AM or PM, then press SELECT.
Change LCD Language:
- Press MENU, then navigate to Settings.
- Select LCD language.
- Choose your desired language (English, French, or Spanish) and press SELECT.
Note: To change back to English from Spanish or French, press MENU and enter *364#.
Telephone Base Components
- 1 - IN USE light: Flashes for incoming calls, solid when the phone is in use.
- 2 - FIND HANDSET button: Pages all system handsets.
- 3 - Charging pole
- 4 - Charge light: On when the handset is charging.
Handset Components
- 1 - Earpiece
- 2 - LCD display
- 3 - SELECT button: Shows menu, selects items, saves entries.
- 4 - OFF/CANCEL button: Ends calls, returns to previous menu, deletes digits, silences ringer.
- 5 - MUTE/Quiet Mode button: Mutes microphone, silences ringer, activates quiet mode.
- 6 - INT (Intercom) button: Starts intercom or transfers calls.
- 7 - Microphone
- 8 - SPEAKERPHONE button: Makes/answers calls using speakerphone.
- 9 - MUTE/DELETE button: Mutes microphone, silences ringer, deletes entries.
- 10 - TONE button: Switches to tone dialing.
- 11 - SPACE button: Adds a space in names.
- 12 - # button: Adds '1' before caller ID, sets voicemail number.
- 13 - TALK/FLASH button: Makes/answers calls, answers call waiting.
- 14 - REDIAL/PAUSE button: Reviews redial list, inserts dialing pause.
- 15 - VOLUME UP/DOWN (q/p) buttons: Adjusts listening volume, scrolls through menus.
- 16 - Charge light: On when the handset is charging.
Display Icons
- Battery icon: Flashes (low battery), animates (charging), solid (fully charged).
- Ringer Off icon: Handset ringer is turned off.
- Voicemail icon: New voicemail received.
- NEW icon: New caller ID log entry.
- ECO icon: ECO mode is active for reduced power consumption.
Telephone Operations
Use the handset menu: Press MENU, then use q/p to scroll and SELECT to enter menus.
Make a call: Press TALK/FLASH or SPEAKERPHONE, then dial the number.
Answer a call: Press TALK/FLASH, SPEAKERPHONE, or any dialing key.
End a call: Press OFF or place the handset in the base/charger.
Speakerphone: During a call, press SPEAKERPHONE to switch between earpiece and speakerphone.
Volume Control: During a call, press VOLUME UP/DOWN (q/p) to adjust listening volume.
Mute: During a call, press MUTE. Press again to resume.
Join a call: Press TALK/FLASH or SPEAKERPHONE on another handset to join an ongoing call.
Call Waiting: Press FLASH to switch between calls.
Find Handset: Press FIND HANDSET on the base. Press OFF or TALK/FLASH on the handset to end paging.
Advanced Features
Redial List: Press REDIAL to review and dial numbers. Press DELETE to remove an entry.
Intercom: Press INT to initiate an intercom call between handsets. Use INT during a call to transfer it to another handset.
Phonebook: Store up to 50 entries with names and numbers. Add, review, edit, and dial entries.
Caller ID: Stores up to 50 caller ID entries. Review, dial, save to phonebook, or delete entries. Clear missed call indicators by pressing and holding CANCEL.
Sound Settings: Adjust key tone and ringer volume/tone. Temporarily silence the ringer by pressing OFF or MUTE.
Quiet Mode: Press and hold MUTE to activate/deactivate quiet mode for a set duration.
Voicemail: Retrieve voicemail by dialing your provider's access number. Set your voicemail number by pressing and holding the # key.
ECO Mode: Automatically reduces power consumption when the handset is within range of the base.
Pair and Connect a Bluetooth® Headset
Ensure your Bluetooth headset is in pairing mode. On the handset, press TALK/FLASH or SPEAKERPHONE, dial 2828. The phone will enter pairing mode. A confirmation tone indicates successful pairing.
General Product Care
- Handle the telephone with care; avoid rough treatment.
- Keep the telephone dry; do not use with wet hands or expose to rain.
- Clean with a dry, non-abrasive cloth only.

Instructions for activating and deactivating the CEC battery charging testing mode are provided for testing purposes only. This mode disables most phone functions.
Limited Warranty
VTech Communications, Inc. warrants this product to be free from material defects for ONE (1) YEAR from the date of purchase (90 days for refurbished products). This warranty covers normal use and does not cover misuse, accidents, or unauthorized repairs. To obtain warranty service, visit the VTech website or call the customer support number provided.
What is not covered: Misuse, accidents, unauthorized repairs, damage from signal conditions, non-VTech accessories, removed serial numbers, products used commercially, or products returned without proof of purchase.
To get warranty service: Contact VTech customer support with proof of purchase.
Limitations: Implied warranties are limited to one year. VTech is not liable for indirect damages.
