Getting Started
Download the Yi IoT App
To set up your smart camera, you will need the Yi IoT app. Scan the QR code provided in the physical document (QR codes are excluded from this digital version) to download the app. Alternatively, search for "Yi IoT" in Google Play or the App Store.

Sign Up and Log In
Upon opening the app, you will be prompted to sign up or log in.
Steps:
- Select your country.
- Enter your email address.
- Create and confirm a password.
- Tap "Sign Up" or "Log In".
The app will display a "Welcome Home!" screen upon successful login.
If you have forgotten your password, tap the "Forgot password" link.
Adding Your Camera
Camera Setup Process
After logging in, you will see a welcome screen for managing cameras.
To add a new camera:
- Tap the add button (represented by a '+' icon).
- The app will guide you through naming your camera. You can choose from presets like "Smart Camera", "Nursery", "Living room", "Kitchen", "Front door", "Garden", "Bedroom", "Patio", "Office", "Hall", "Storage", "Study".
- Tap "Save" to confirm the camera name.
A "Pairing successful" message will appear once the camera is added.
You can also choose to "Share cameras with your family" from this screen.
Connecting to Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi Connection Steps
This section guides you through connecting your camera to your Wi-Fi network.
Ensure your mobile phone is connected to the Wi-Fi network you want the camera to use.
- Enter your Wi-Fi password when prompted.
- Select the connection mode if applicable.
- The app will initiate a "WiFi connection" process.
- Listen for an audio confirmation, such as "QR code scan successful" and "WiFi connected".
Tip: Place the camera close to your Wi-Fi router during setup.
Note:
- 5GHz wireless bands are supported.
- Ensure your phone's location services are enabled for the app.
Troubleshooting Wi-Fi Connection
If you do not hear the audio sequence during setup:
- Press and hold the "RESET" button on the camera device for more than 5 seconds.
- You should hear a sequence indicating the reset is successful.
- Try the connection process again.
Using the Yi IoT App
App Interface and Features
The Yi IoT app provides comprehensive control over your smart camera.
Main features accessible from the app:
- Camera View: View live feed in full screen.
- White Light Control: ? Adjust camera lighting.
- Voice Intercom: ? Speak through the camera.
- Local Record: ⏺️ Save recordings directly to your device.
- Screenshot: ? Capture still images from the feed.
- Playback: ▶️ Review recorded footage.
- Alerts: ? Receive notifications for detected events. Example alerts shown include "Motion Detected" with timestamps.
- Camera Settings: ⚙️ Access detailed device configurations.
Motion detection can be configured within the app settings.
Cloud Storage
The app offers cloud storage services for your video recordings. Details on subscription plans are available within the app.
Common Problems
Camera Offline
If your camera appears offline, try the following:
- Verify the power supply is connected and working.
- Power off the camera, wait a few seconds, and then restart it.
- Check if the camera is within the Wi-Fi signal range.
- Ensure there are no significant signal interference sources nearby.
Video Storage
The camera supports video storage via:
- MicroSD Card: Supports cards up to 64GB. Recordings are made automatically and will overwrite the oldest footage when the card is full (loop recording).
- Cloud Storage: An optional service for storing videos online.
