Induction
Pots Pot dimensions

A reel is installed under each cooking area that generates a variable electromagnetic field when the pot is placed on it, which produces inductive currents on the bottom of the pot that is made of ferromagnetic material. As a result, the bottom of the pot placed on the cooking area gets heated. A crucial element is the pot constituting material.
Suitable materials: steel, enamelled steel, cast iron, ferromagnetic steel, aluminium with ferromagnetic bottom (a magnet can be used to check). Non-suitable materials: aluminium and steel without ferromagnetic bottoms, copper, ceramic, porcelain, glass, brass.
Pot made with ferromagnetic material
Inductive currents Electromagnetic coil
To check the pot compatibility, place the pot containing a small amount of water on the cooking area. Select power level "9": water should boil in a few seconds.
Some pots cause "noise" during the cooking process. This is not in connection with the induction hob and does not affect cooking. The relevant display shows the symbol 'U' if the pot is not suitable or if it has not been placed on the selected area.
Although the cooking areas automatically adapt to the diameter of the pots, a minimum bottom diameter is required for the hob to operate correctly. For maximum hob efficiency, the pot must be placed in the centre of the cooking area.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE Use of induction hob

How to switch on the appliance

Press the ON/OFF button and put the pot in the required position. When the appliance is turned on, a 0 appears on the display of the cooking area in use. If no button is pressed after appliance switch-on, it will switch off after about 10 seconds.

How to switch on a cooking area

Switch the hob on and then select the desired cooking area using the "slider"; scroll with your finger to set the desired power level, from 1 to 9. The power value is shown on the display of the corresponding area.

How to switch off a cooking area

To switch off a cooking area, tap the bottom end of the slider or swipe your finger along the slider until you reach 0. If the area you have switched off is hot, letter "H" appears and alternates with value "0". If the hob is switched off and the area is still hot, only letter "H" appears with a steady light in the corresponding area. Warning: do not to touch the cooking area or place inflammable objects on it.

How to switch off all cooking areas

When multiple cooking areas are engaged, a tap on button ON/OFF causes them all to be switched off. The ON/OFF button is not affected by the active keypad lock. If the areas are still hot, letter "H" appears with a steady light on the display of the cooking areas.

BOOSTER function

The Booster function is designed to increase the power in the selected cooking area. It is suitable for heating large quantities of water in a shorter time. To activate it, press the ON/ OFF button. Swipe your finger on the slider of the desired area until the end-of-scale value. The symbol "P" appears on the display and the Buster function becomes active. The Booster function lasts for maximum 5 minutes.

BRIDGE function How to join cooking areas

Two cooking areas indicated with letter A (Fig. 1) can be joined vertically. Switch on the hob and simultaneously press any point on both sliders of the 2 areas. The icons "U" and " " appear on the display; the value "0" turns on in the display of one of the two areas selected. Now, use the slider to set the desired power. In this mode, the Booster function cannot be set up.

U

HEAT-UP function automatic heating

The automatic heating function HEAT-UP can be activated on all areas having a power level from 1 to 8. When this function is active, the power of the cooking area is increased to 100% for a time period that depends on the selected power. When the time has elapsed, the power is automatically reduced to the level setpoint. To activate the automatic heating function, select the power level using the slider and hold the position for 3 seconds. Letter "A" appears on the display and it alternates with the previously selected power. The automatic heating function is switched on.

KEEP WARM function (42°C)

The function KEEP WARM is intended to keep already cooked food warm. Every area has a designated button. A tap on the designated button on the display causes the icon " " to appear: the temperature at the bottom of and inside the pot is limited to 42°C. A new tap on the button or using the slider of the cooking area causes the function to be turned off. The function remains active for a maximum of 2 hours.

9

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE Use of induction hob

Pause

The pause function can be activated if at least one cooking area is engaged. Switch on the cooking areas and set them to the desired power level. To activate the pause function, press the
"pause" button. The symbol "II" appears on all the displays of the cooking areas. When the pause function is activated, all areas switch off and the set timers (including the minute counter) are also blocked. The pause function remains active for a maximum of 10 minutes. When the set time has elapsed, the function is deactivated and the hob switches off. The ON/OFF control button is always active, even when the pause function is on. To deactivate the function, press the "pause" button again and swipe your finger on the flashing slider. Swiping causes the cooking areas to be re-activated at the previous setpoint value - if the operation does not take place within 10 seconds, the pause function will remain active.

Function block

To prevent unintentional changes to the selected settings during the cooking process, the functions associated with the buttons can be blocked, except for the ON/OFF button. Touch the "key" button for 2 seconds to activate the function. An indicator light placed above the button warns about the lock. To unlock the functions, tap the "key" button again for 2 seconds.

KEY-LOCK function

After turning on the hob, the "KEY-LOCK" or "child safety" function can be activated. To activate this function, press the "key" and "pause" buttons at the same time, followed by the
"key" button only. The symbol "L" appearing on all the displays means that the function is active. All the cooking areas are off and cannot be switched on accidentally. To deactivate the function, press the and "pause" buttons at the same time, followed by the button only.

Timer

The Timer function is designed to set a cooking time from 10 seconds to 1 hour and 59 minutes for all areas. A different time can be set up for every area. After switching on the hob and selecting a cooking area, press the "+/-" buttons at the same time to activate the timer. The timer display shows "0.00" and the display of the selected cooking area shows the symbol
"timer enabled". Use the "+/-" buttons to select the cooking time - if no control button is pressed for 10 seconds, the timer display switches off. If several cooking areas have been programmed, the display shows the shortest programming time. Once the programmed time has elapsed, the area switches off and an audible signal is sounded this signal switches off as soon as the "+" or "-" buttons are pressed. If it is not switched off it continues for 2 minutes. If the cooking area is hot when the hob is switched off, the symbol "H" appears on the display. To select a value lower than 1 minute, activate the timer function, tap the "+" button once to view the starting value 1.00. Then tap the "-" button to select the desired value expressed in seconds.

Minute counter function

The minute counter function is independent from the cooking areas. After its activation, the minute counter stays on even when the hob is switched off. Switch on the hob and press the "+/-" buttons at the same time - the timer display shows "0.00" and the icon "minute counter engaged". After this, press the "+" button to set a cooking time from 10 seconds to 1 hour and 59 minutes. To reset the function, press the ON/OFF button to turn on the hob, simultaneously press the "+/-" buttons, and finally tap the "-" button to set the value on the timer to "0".

Recall function

After switching off the hob, the last settings can be reactivated. Tap the ON/OFF button to switch the hob on, then press the "pause" button before the indicator stops flashing. The recall function can be reactivated even if the "Function Lock" or "KEY-LOCK" functions have been set.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE Use of induction hob

Pot detection acknowledgement

The pot detection function ensures proper functioning. The induction hob does not work when: - the pot is not placed on the active cooking area or the pot is not suitable for the induction system. In these cases the symbol "U"; - the pot is removed during the cooking process. In this case, the symbol "U" appears on the display. If the pot is placed on the cooking area at a later stage, the hob continues to work at the same power level as previously set.

Unintentional ignition protection

Should the hob be switched on unintentionally, it switches off after 10 seconds, provided that no button is pressed. The sensors featured on the buttons of the control panel are not designed to sense unintentional spillage of water. The ON/OFF button has priority over any other control.

Operating time limits

Each cooking area is associated with a maximum time of continuous operation, based on the set power level. When the time limit is reached, the hob automatically switches off.

Power control

If the BOOSTER function is enabled, power is controlled as follows: the most recently set power level prioritises over the other areas. In order not to exceed the maximum rated power, the electronics automatically reduces the power of the other areas to a lower level. During this phase, the "display of the cooking area" flashes for 3 seconds and then stabilises at the power level managed by the electronics.

Overheating of the cooking area

If, during operation, a cooking area becomes excessively hot, the power is automatically reduced and the display shows the newly changed level. At this point, the only possible action is to decrease the power level. When the temperature of the cooking area falls below the critical value, cooking can be restarted normally.
