About the Samsung SolarCell Remote
The Samsung SolarCell Remote, also known as the Samsung Smart Remote, offers convenient access to TV functions and accessibility features. The remote is powered by a solar cell, which can be exposed to light to extend its operating time. It also features a USB-C port for charging.
Accessibility Shortcuts: The Accessibility Shortcuts button provides quick access to accessibility functions on your TV. Press and hold the Volume button to display the Accessibility Shortcuts menu.
Solar Charging: Expose the remote to light when not in use to extend its operating time. The remote can also be charged via the USB-C port.
Battery Recycling: Information for battery recycling is available at call2recycle.org or by calling 1-800-822-8837.
Remote Buttons and Functions
- Power Button (▲): Turns the TV on or off. For The Frame models, it switches between TV and Art mode, or turns off the TV completely when held.

MIC/LED (●): Acts as a microphone for voice recognition. The LED indicates charging status via USB.
- Caution: Do not impact the MIC hole or use sharp objects.
- MIC (●): Used for voice recognition. Keep the remote at least 0.6 inches (15.24 mm) from your face when speaking.
- Al Discovery (●): Provides content recommendations. This function may vary by model or region.
- Voice Assistant (●): Activates the Voice Assistant. Press and hold, speak a command, then release. Supported languages and features may vary by region.
- Settings - Number - Color Button (123): Accesses the Settings menu, virtual numeric pad, color buttons, or SmartThings app.
- Directional Buttons (▲,▼,◄,►): Navigate menus and highlight items.
- Select Button (●): Selects or runs a highlighted item. Displays program information when pressed during a broadcast.
- Return Button (◄): Returns to the previous menu or terminates the running function when held.
- Smart Hub Button (●): Switches to the Home Screen.
- Play/Pause Button (▶/►): Controls media playback. In Game Mode, holding this button accesses the Game Bar.
- Volume Buttons (+/-): Adjusts volume or mutes sound.
- Channel Buttons (▲/▼): Changes channels or displays the Guide screen. Holding them allows for quick channel changes.
- Launch App Button: Launches a specific application. Available apps may vary.
- Pairing Button (+): Pairs the remote with the TV. Press and hold the + and ▲ buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds if automatic pairing fails.
Note: The remote should be used within 20 feet (6 m) of the TV. Button functions and appearance may vary by model or region.
Using Accessibility Functions
The remote provides access to various TV accessibility functions:
- Voice Guide: Reads menu options aloud. Can be configured for volume, speed, and pitch. English is always supported.
- Audio (Video) Description: Provides audio descriptions for visually impaired users for broadcasts that support this service.
- Audio Subtitles: Reads captions aloud. Volume and speed can be adjusted.
- Picture Off: Turns off the TV screen to reduce power consumption, while sound remains active.
- Magnification: Enlarges the screen for better visibility of pictures or text.
- High Contrast: Improves readability by changing text and background colors or making TV menus opaque.
- Relumino Mode: Enhances contrast and brightness for users with low vision.
- Together Mode: Displays Relumino Mode and normal screen side-by-side.
- Zoom Menu and Text: Enlarges font size on the screen.
- Grayscale: Converts the screen to black and white to sharpen edges.
- Color Inversion: Inverts colors for easier reading of menus.
- SeeColors Mode: Helps users with color blindness experience richer colors.
- Learn TV Remote: Helps visually impaired users learn remote button positions by announcing button names when pressed. Press the Return button twice to exit.

Warranty
This Samsung product is warranted for twelve (12) months from the original date of purchase against defective materials and workmanship. For service within the first month, return the product to the retailer. After that, Samsung Call Center will provide warranty service. Contact Samsung Call Center for details.
Note: Use of an original Samsung charger is recommended. Using non-original chargers may degrade performance or cause product failure, voiding warranty service.
Caution: Do not apply shock, expose to extreme temperatures, or allow foreign substances to contact the charging terminal. Do not disassemble the remote. Keep away from infants and pets.
