Indoor Air Quality and Radon Monitors
Congratulations on taking this important step toward living a healthier life. By keeping track of your indoor air quality and/or radon levels, you can make healthier decisions in the spaces where you spend most of your time. Increased productivity and energy levels, better quality sleep, and resistance to illness are just a few of the benefits. Lessening your exposure to radon will reduce your risk of lung cancer.
Your Airthings View device provides you with the information you need on the display, your phone, and the Airthings Dashboard. Or you can simply wave in front of the device for a visual indication of your levels.

View Series Setup
Step 1: Download the Airthings App
Download or update the Airthings App from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and create an account.
Step 2: Connect the Device
Pull the battery tab on the device and follow the in-app instructions to connect the device to your smartphone and your WiFi. You can also power your device using the supplied USB cable. A firmware update may occur when you start the device.
Note: Batteries can remain in the device when powered via USB, but they will not be recharged. The device automatically switches between battery and USB power.
Step 3: Placement
Your View device can be placed wherever you want to measure your air quality, such as on a nightstand, wall in a baby room, or on a shelf in the living room. Keep it away from very dusty environments. It performs best if cleaned with a dry or damp cloth occasionally. View Plus and View Radon should be kept out of damp environments (above 85% humidity) to avoid damage to the radon sensor.
To mount your View on a wall: Fix the mounting bracket to the wall using appropriate screws for your wall type. Do not place it close to vents or windows. Maintain a minimum distance of 1 meter / 3 feet from vents or windows.
Step 4: Calibration
Some sensors require time, usually around a week, to calibrate after power-up. Refer to the product sheet for your specific device for more details.
The various sensors have different sample rates and accuracy. The radon sensor is built for long-term monitoring. Early data samples may be inaccurate as radon levels can vary significantly day-to-day and month-to-month. To diagnose radon levels, measure all living areas (e.g., living rooms, bedrooms) for at least one week. For a more accurate value, follow up with a long-term measurement (at least 2 months) in the room with the highest radon value.
Daily Use
Configurable Display
The display can be configured to show the sensor values you care most about via the Airthings Dashboard or App. The display updates up to every 2.5 minutes, depending on the sensor sample interval. The display may sometimes flicker to refresh, which is normal and does not indicate incorrect operation.
Note: The e-paper display does not require power to show an image. If power is lost, the display will retain the last image shown and will update normally when power is restored.
Using Your View as a Hub for Other Airthings Devices
When powered over USB and connected to WiFi, your View device acts as a SmartLink hub for other supported Airthings devices (Wave Mini, Wave Plus, Wave Radon 2nd gen). This keeps all your Airthings devices connected and accessible. Use the Airthings App to link devices to your View.
Reset Button
A short press (approx. 0.5 seconds) toggles useful information on the display. A long press resets the device to factory state, removing locally stored data like WiFi passwords but not from your online account. A countdown appears on the display during a long press; releasing the button before it finishes cancels the reset.
Wave Function
Wave in front of your device for a quick visual indication of indoor air quality. The glow signal indicates overall air quality: green (good), yellow (fair), red (poor). The display also shows specific levels if they are fair or poor. For sensor thresholds, visit help.airthings.com.
Airthings App
The app updates automatically when connected to WiFi. It displays sensor values, historical graphs, and averages. Use the app to configure your View, set notifications, and more.
Airthings Dashboard
The Airthings web dashboard allows you to view, customize, and analyze sensor data from all your devices, with access to trends and advanced analytics. Find out more at airthings.com/dashboard.
Integrations
All Airthings View devices share data to your mobile device and the Airthings Dashboard, a free online platform for viewing, customizing, and analyzing data from multiple Airthings devices. Visit airthings.com/dashboard for more information.
The Airthings View supports Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant for reading sensor measurements from connected devices. Limitations on languages and regions apply; visit airthings.com for details.
The Airthings View also supports IFTTT, enabling users to create recipes for their device and integrate with third-party products.

Common Questions
What is the range of the View when used as a hub?
The View typically reaches linked Airthings devices anywhere in most homes. Tests indicate the range is usually sufficient for a large family home, but may vary based on wall/floor materials, wireless interference, and placement.
How many devices can be connected to a View used as a hub?
The View can support up to 10 devices.
What devices can be linked to the View when used as a hub?
Wave Plus, Wave Mini, and Wave Radon devices can be linked. Wave 1st gen (serial number 2900x) and other View devices cannot. If you own multiple View devices, they send data to your account via WiFi independently.
Can I retrieve data locally from the View?
No, data is encrypted in transit to the Airthings cloud and retrieved via the Airthings Wave app or web dashboard at dashboard.airthings.com.
Can I retrieve data over Bluetooth from the View, like I can with Wave devices?
No, View devices only support data transfer over WiFi. Bluetooth is used only for initial setup and configuration.
How often will Wave devices send data through the View when used as a hub?
Wave devices send data every 5 minutes. Radon data (24-hour rolling average) is sent every hour.
