Introduction

The Gembird 3DP-GEMMA is a compact 3D printer designed for ease of use.

Unpacking and Contents

Remove the printer and accessories from the packaging.

A collection of included accessories: a 2.0mm hex wrench, an 8mm wrench, an M6 brass nozzle, a MicroSD card, a MicroSD card reader, an AC power adapter, and an AC power cord.

Initial Setup

The printer is shown being removed from its packaging, including protective foam supports and plastic bags. A carton block inside the printer is also shown being removed.

Remove the carton support and plastic bag from the printer and place it on a table or desk.

Remove the carton block in the printer.

The Filament Guide Tube is being inserted into the pneumatic connector located on the top of the printer's extruder.

Insert the Filament Guide Tube into the pneumatic connector on top of the Extruder.

The AC power adapter is connected to the printer's power port, and the AC power cord is plugged into the adapter and a wall outlet. The power switch on the adapter is shown in the OFF position.

Ensure that the power switch on the AC Power Adapter is in the OFF position (O). Plug the DC barrel connector on the AC Power Adapter into the Power Port on the right side of the printer. Plug the included AC Power Cord into the AC Power Adapter, then plug the other end into a nearby AC power outlet.

Flip the power switch on the AC power adapter to the ON position (I). After the printer finishes booting, you will see the following wizard. Depress the Knob on top of the printer to select Next on the Welcome screen, then again to select Next on the STEP1: LOAD FILAMENT screen.

Loading Filament

Images illustrate preparing the filament by cutting and straightening the end, then inserting it into the extruder. The printer interface shows the filament loading process, including nozzle heating and filament extrusion.

Using a pair of scissors or side cutters, cut about an inch off the end of the filament, then gently straighten the end of the filament. Squeeze the lever on the Extruder, Insert the filament into the bottom until you encounter resistance, then release the lever.

Press the Knob to start loading filament. Once filament starts extruding from the Nozzle, press the Knob again to stop extrusion, then press the Knob to select the Continue option.

Printing

A MicroSD card is shown being inserted into the printer's card slot. The printer interface guides the user to select 'Next' after inserting the card.

Remove the included micro SD™ card from the Accessory Box, then insert it into the microSD card slot to the left of the LCD Screen. Press the Knob to select Next on the wizard.

The printer interface displays options to 'Print From SD'. The user is shown rotating a knob to select a .gcode file and then pressing the knob to start the print. A final screen shows the printer status, including temperature and print time.

Press the Knob to select Print From SD. Rotate the Knob to highlight a gcode file on the microSD card, then press the Knob to begin printing the highlighted model.

Post-Print

The magnetic print bed, with a printed model on it, is shown being removed from the printer's platform. The bed is then gently bent to release the printed object.

Once the print is finished, remove the Magnetic Print Bed from the metal print platform, then bend it to remove the model. Replace the Magnetic Print Bed on the metal print platform.
