Introduction to VMA v8.5.7
These release notes detail the Mellanox Messaging Accelerator (VMA) library for Linux, version 8.5.7. VMA is designed to accelerate TCP and UDP socket applications by offloading traffic directly to the network interface card (NIC) or Host Channel Adapter (HCA), bypassing the kernel and the standard IP stack. This approach enhances traffic packet rates, reduces latency, and optimizes CPU utilization.
VMA v8.5.7 is compatible with both the MLNX_OFED driver stack (supporting Ethernet and InfiniBand) and the lighter MLNX_EN driver stack (supporting Ethernet only).
