This chapter provides information on hardware setup procedures. When connecting devices, handle them carefully and use a grounded wrist strap to avoid static electricity.

Important:

Installing the Monitor Stand
Follow these steps to install the monitor stand:
- Leave the monitor in its protective packaging. Align and gently push the stand bracket towards the monitor groove until it locks in place.
- Align and gently push the base towards the stand until it locks in place.
- Ensure the stand assembly is properly installed before setting the monitor upright.
Important:
- Place the monitor on a soft, protected surface to avoid scratching the display panel.
- Do not use any sharp objects on the panel.
- This product has no protective film to be removed by the user. Any mechanical damage, including removal of the polarizing film, may affect the warranty.
Adjusting the Monitor
This monitor is designed for optimal viewing comfort with its adjustment capabilities.
Important: Avoid touching the display panel when adjusting the monitor.
The monitor supports tilt adjustment from -5° to 20°.
Monitor Overview
The rear panel of the monitor includes the following ports and features:
- 1. Power Button & Navi Key: Controls power and navigates OSD menus.
- 2. Cable Organizer: Helps manage cables.
- 3. Kensington Lock: For security.
- 4. DisplayPort: Supports 1920x1080@120Hz (DisplayPort 1.4a).
- 5. HDMI™ Connector: Supports HDMI™ CEC, 1920x1080@120Hz (HDMI™ 2.0).
Important: For optimal performance and compatibility, use only HDMI™ cables certified with the official HDMI™ logo. Visit https://www.hdmi.org/resource/cables for more information. - 6. D-Sub Port: Analog video input.
- 7. Line-In Jack: For audio playback through speakers when using the D-Sub port. Connect the device's Line-out jack to this port.
- 8. Headphone Jack: For audio output.
- 9. Power Jack: Connect the power cord here.
Connecting the Monitor to PC
Follow these steps to connect the monitor to your computer:
- Turn off your computer.
- Connect the video cable (HDMI™ or DisplayPort) from the monitor to your computer.
- Connect the power cord to the monitor's power jack.
- Plug the power cord into an electrical outlet.
- Turn on the monitor.
- Power on the computer. The monitor will automatically detect the signal source.
OSD Setup
This section provides essential information on On-Screen Display (OSD) setup.

Navi Key
The monitor features a Navi Key, a multi-directional control for navigating the OSD menu:
- Up/Down/Left/Right: Select function menus and items, adjust function values, enter/exit function menus.
- Middle: Launch the On-Screen Display (OSD), enter submenus, confirm selections or settings.
Hot Key
- Users can access preset function menus by moving the Navi Key up, down, left, or right when the OSD menu is inactive.
- Users can customize their own Hot Keys to access different function menus.

Troubleshooting
The power LED is off.
- Press the monitor power button again.
- Check if the monitor power cable is properly connected.
No image.
- Check if the computer graphics card is properly installed.
- Check if the computer and monitor are connected to electrical outlets and are turned on.
- Check if the monitor signal cable is properly connected.
- The computer may be in Standby mode. Press any key to activate the monitor.
The screen image is not properly sized or centered.
- Refer to Preset Display Modes to set the computer to a suitable display setting.
No Plug & Play.
- Check if the monitor power cable is properly connected.
- Check if the monitor signal cable is properly connected.
- Check if the computer and graphics card are Plug & Play compatible.
The icons, font, or screen are fuzzy, blurry, or have color problems.
- Avoid using any video extension cables.
- Adjust brightness and contrast.
- Adjust RGB color or tune color temperature.
- Check if the monitor signal cable is properly connected.
- Check for bent pins on the signal cable connector.
The monitor starts flickering or shows waves.
- Change the refresh rate to match the monitor's capabilities.
- Update your graphics card drivers.
- Keep the monitor away from electrical devices that may cause electromagnetic interference (EMI).
Safety Instructions
- Read the safety instructions carefully and thoroughly.
- Note all cautions and warnings on the device or User Guide.
- Refer servicing to qualified personnel only.
Power Safety
- Ensure the power voltage is within its safety range (100-240V) before connecting to the power outlet.
- If the power cord has a 3-pin plug, do not disable the protective earth pin. The device must be connected to an earthed mains socket-outlet.
- Confirm the installation site's power distribution system provides a circuit breaker rated 120/240V, 20A (maximum).
- Always disconnect the power cord or switch off the wall socket if the device will be left unused for a period to achieve zero energy consumption.
- Place the power cord where people are unlikely to step on it and do not place anything on it.
- If the device includes an adapter, use only the MSI-provided AC adapter approved for use with this device.
Environment Safety
- To reduce heat-related injuries or overheating, do not place the device on soft, unsteady surfaces or obstruct its air ventilators.
- Use this device only on a hard, flat, and steady surface.
- To prevent tipping, secure the device to a desk, wall, or fixed object with an anti-tip fastener.
- Keep the device away from humidity and high temperature to prevent fire or shock hazards.
- Do not leave the device in an unconditioned environment with storage temperatures above 60°C or below -20°C, as this may damage the device.
- The maximum operating temperature is around 40°C.
- When cleaning, unplug the device. Use a soft cloth; avoid industrial chemicals. Never pour liquid into openings, as this could damage the device or cause electric shock.
- Keep strong magnetic or electrical objects away from the device.
Service Recommendations
If any of the following situations arise, get the device checked by service personnel:
- The power cord or plug is damaged.
- Liquid has penetrated into the device.
- The device has been exposed to moisture.
- The device does not work well or cannot be operated according to the User Guide.
- The device has been dropped and damaged.
- The device shows obvious signs of breakage.
Certifications
TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light Certification
Blue light can cause eye fatigue and discomfort. MSI monitors with TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light certification are designed to ensure user eye comfort and well-being. To reduce symptoms from extended screen exposure:
- Place the screen 20–28 inches (50–70 cm) away from your eyes and slightly below eye level.
- Consciously blink to reduce eye strain after extended screen time.
- Take 20-minute breaks every 2 hours.
- During breaks, look away from the screen at a distant object for at least 20 seconds.
- Perform stretches to relieve body fatigue or pain during breaks.
- Turn on the optional Low Blue Light function.
TÜV Rheinland Flicker Free Certification
- TÜV Rheinland tested this product to ensure it does not produce visible or invisible flicker that strains the eyes.
- The certification confirms the device has no visible and invisible flicker within the 0-3000 Hz range under various brightness settings.
- Flicker Free is not supported when Anti Motion Blur/MPRT is enabled.
ENERGY STAR Certification
ENERGY STAR is a U.S. program promoting energy efficiency. This product qualifies for ENERGY STAR in its "factory default" settings. Changing these settings or enabling other features may increase power consumption beyond ENERGY STAR limits.

Overuse of screens can affect eyesight.
Recommendations:
- Take a 10-minute break for every 30 minutes of screen time.
- Children under 2 years should have no screen time. For children aged 2 and over, limit screen time to less than one hour per day.
