Niko Swiss Garde 360 Presence DALI Master A-Comfort 24m
Model Numbers: 41750, 41751
Safety Notes
[Warning] Ensure that electrical lines are de-energised before installation. Installation is only permitted by qualified electricians in compliance with local legislation.
The installation of products that will permanently be part of the electrical installation and which include dangerous voltages, should be carried out by a qualified installer and in accordance with the applicable regulations. This user manual must be presented to the user, included in the electrical installation file, and passed on to any new owners. Additional copies are available on the Niko website or via Niko customer services.
Installation
Placement
The detector responds to movements and heat in its environment. Avoid installation in close proximity to heat sources such as stoves, electric heaters, fans, or other moving objects, as these may trigger unintended activation.
The presence detector is designed for ceiling mounting.
Range and Detection Area
The detector provides 360-degree detection. The maximum detection range for presence is Ø 6 meters, extending to approximately Ø 24 meters at a mounting height of 3 meters. The detection range varies with height:
- At 2m height: presence range Ø 2m, total range Ø 16m.
- At 2.5m height: presence range Ø 3.5m, total range Ø 20m.
- At 3m height: presence range Ø 6m, total range Ø 24m.
- At 3.5m height: presence range Ø 6m, total range Ø 24m.
To reduce the detection area, enclosed half-shells can be clamped between the lens and the cover.
The range can be increased with up to 10 secondary presence detectors (Edition UP Art. No 41752 or Edition AP Art. No 41753). For disruption-free detection when using several detectors, ensure an approximate 30% overlap of the detection areas.
Wiring
Wire the presence detector according to the wiring diagram. All DALI devices are wired in parallel. The Master device automatically recognises connected DALI devices.
[Warning] Do not connect additional DALI power supplies nor multiple Master devices, as this would damage the DALI coils as well as the presence detectors. The presence detector contains an in-built DALI power supply; do not connect an external DALI power supply.
The DALI wiring diagram shows connections for Master and Secondary units. Master unit connections include L1, L2, N, DA+, DA-, T1+2, T3, T4. Secondary unit connections include L, N, DA, DA. Zones 1, 2, 3, and 4 are indicated.
Setup Mode: "Out of the Box"
Connect the presence detector to mains voltage only after the installation is completely wired. Allow approximately 40 seconds warm-up delay after mains connection for the detector to become operational. DALI ballasts will be automatically recognised by the presence detector.
Upon connection to mains voltage, all connected lights switch on, and the presence detector operates in On/Off mode with a default delay time of 15 minutes. All zones can be switched on and off via connected 230V push-buttons or via the P-IR remote control; all 230V push-buttons will have the same functionality.
Note: All LEDs (red, blue, yellow, green) flash alternately, indicating that the presence detector is in "Out-of-the-box" mode.
Commissioning and programming are described in the operating instructions.
