Models: RA0711, R72611, RA0711Y
1. Introduction
The RA0711_R72611_RA0711Y is a Class A type device based on the LoRaWAN open protocol. These models can be connected to a liquid level sensor and report the collected value to the corresponding gateway.
LoRa Wireless Technology:
LoRa is a wireless communication technology designed for long distance and low power consumption. Its spread spectrum modulation method significantly increases communication distance. It is widely used in long-distance, low-data wireless communications for applications such as automatic meter reading, building automation equipment, wireless security systems, and industrial monitoring. Key features include small size, low power consumption, extended transmission distance, and strong anti-interference ability.
LoRaWAN:
LoRaWAN uses LoRa technology to define end-to-end standard specifications, ensuring interoperability between devices and gateways from different manufacturers.
2. Appearance
RA0711
The RA0711 device is shown. It has a white main unit with a black cable extending from it. Labels point to: 'Liquid Level Sensor' (indicating the probe part), 'Indicator' (a small light on the unit), 'Function Key' (a button on the unit), and 'Adapter (12V)' (a port on the unit).
R72611
The R72611 device is depicted, designed for outdoor use. It features a solar panel at the top, connected to a unit with a 'Built-In Battery Pack' visible. A 'Waterproof cover' protects the main components. A cable extends from the unit.
RA0711Y
The RA0711Y device is illustrated. It includes a 'Waterproof Cover' and an 'Adapter (12V)' port. A cable extends from the unit.
3. Main Features

4. Set up Instruction
On/Off
- Power on: RA0711 and RA0711Y are powered by a DC 12V adapter. R72611 is powered by solar and rechargeable lithium batteries.
- Turn on: Power on the device to turn it on.
- Power off: Remove the power source.
Restore to factory setting
Press and hold the function key for 5 seconds until the green indicator flashes 20 times.
Network Joining
- Never joined the network (Or at factory setting): Turn on the device to search for a network to join. A solid green indicator for 5 seconds indicates success; a continuously off green indicator indicates failure.
- Had joined the network (Not at factory setting): Turn on the device to search for the previous network to join. A solid green indicator for 5 seconds indicates success; a continuously off green indicator indicates failure.
- Fail to join the network (when the device is on): Check the device verification information on the gateway or consult your platform server provider.
Function Key
- Press and hold for 5 seconds: Restores to factory setting / Turns off. The green indicator flashes 20 times for success; the green indicator remains off for failure.
- Press once: If the device is in the network, the green indicator flashes once and sends a data report. If the device is not in the network, the green indicator remains off.
Low Voltage Threshold (R72611)
Low Voltage Threshold: 10.5 V
Note: RA0711_R72611_RA0711Y has a network information memory function that saves the network connection upon power-down. This function is off by default, meaning the device will rejoin the network each time it is powered on. This can be enabled via the ResumeNetOnOff command. When enabled, the last network joining information is recorded. To join a new network, a factory reset is required.
5. Data Report
The device sends a version packet report along with an uplink packet containing liquid level and voltage values. Data is sent in the default configuration before any settings are changed.
Default setting:
- Report MaxTime: RA0711_RA0711Y is 180s; RA72611 is 1800s.
- Report MinTime: 30s (US915, AU915, KR920, AS923, IN865); 120s (EU868).
- ReportType count: 1.
Note:
- The device report interval is programmed based on the default firmware and may vary.
- The interval between two reports must be the MaxTime.
- ReportChange is not supported by RA0711_R72611_RA0711Y.
- Report cycle is based on ReportMaxTime period when sending data packets.
- Data packet includes liquid level value.
- It takes approximately 35 seconds for the liquid level sensor to sample and process the collected liquid level value after being powered.
- The device supports Cayenne's TxPeriod cycle configuration. The report period can be either ReportMaxTime or TxPeriod, depending on which was configured last.
- Manually triggering the device by pressing the button also takes about 35 seconds for sampling and processing.

6. Installation
6.1 Installation Steps And Precautions
- RA0711: The RA0711 is fixed with screws (purchased by users) to secure the unit to a wall or other object.
Note: Do not install the device in a metal enclosure or near other electrical equipment that could affect wireless transmission.

- R72611: The R72611 product is waterproof and can be placed outdoors after network joining.
- In the installation position, loosen the U-shaped screw of the bottom of the R72611 and the mating washer nut. Fix the U-shaped screw through the appropriate size cylinder on the R72611 fixed strut piece. Install the washer nut in order and lock it until the R72611 body is stable and does not shake.
- At the upper side of the fixed position of R72611, loosen the two U-shaped screws on the side of the solar panel and the mating washer nut. Fix the U-shaped screw through the appropriate size cylinder on the main bracket of the solar panel, and install the gasket in sequence. Lock the nut until the solar panel is stable and does not shake.
- Adjust the angle of the solar panel. After adjustment, lock the nut.
- Connect the R72611 top waterproof cable to the solar panel wiring and lock it tight.
- R72611 has a battery pack inside. Users can buy and install rechargeable 18650 lithium batteries (total of 3 sections, single battery voltage 3.7V, capacity recommended 3000mAh ~ 5000mAh). The installation steps are as follows:
- Remove the four screws around the battery cover.
- Insert three 18650 lithium batteries, ensuring correct polarity (positive and negative).
- Press the activation button on the battery pack for the first time.
- After activation, close the battery cover and lock the screws around it.

- RA0711Y: The RA0711Y product is waterproof and can be placed outdoors after network joining.
- In the installation position, loosen the bottom U-shaped screw of the RA0711Y and the mating washer nut. Fix the U-shaped screw through the appropriate size cylinder on the RA0711Y fixed strut piece. Install the washer nut in order, and lock the nut until the RA0711Y body is stable and does not shake.
- Loosen the M5 nut at the bottom of the RA0711Y and remove the matte along with the screw.
- Plug the DC adaptor through the center hole of the RA0711Y bottom cover into the RA0711Y DC socket, then return the mating screw to its original position and tighten the M5 nut.
6.2 Liquid Level Transmitter Installation Precautions
- The liquid level transmitter can be installed vertically, tilted, or leveled in the tank. Care should be taken to prevent sediment or other impurities from entering the transmitter probe and affecting measurements.
- Avoid using the air guide cable too tight or bent. In addition to power and signal transmission, the air-conducting cable is crucial for atmospheric compensation; bending can affect measurement results.
- In environments with highly fluctuating media, secure the transmitter probe section to prevent sway, which could affect measurements. A steel pipe or PVC pipe larger than the transmitter's diameter, with small holes (diameter > 5 mm) to allow water entry, can be inserted.
Two methods for installing the liquid level transmitter are illustrated: 'Cable hanger installation' and 'Cable fixing flange installation'. Both show the transmitter submerged in liquid, with a 'Blind area' of approximately 20mm indicated near the probe.
6.3 Installation Reference
6.3.1 Liquid Level Transmitter Use Precautions
- The level transmitter is made of stainless steel and is not compatible with media that react with stainless steel.
- Before powering on, ensure the power supply voltage meets the transmitter's requirements, the positive and negative terminals are connected correctly, and the highest liquid level is within the transmitter's range.
- When in use, try to avoid the transmitter cable terminal immersing in water, as this can damage the transmitter.
- Avoid sharp objects damaging the liquid level transmitter, as this can cause water ingress.
- The liquid level transmitter is a precision instrument and must not be disassembled to avoid damage.
- Place the device in a dry and ventilated environment when not in use.
- Keep the air duct and wiring dry and ventilated when submerged in water. The service life is 3-8 years.
6.3.2 Usage Scenarios

- When it is necessary to detect the water level.
7. Important Maintenance Instruction
Your device is a product of superior design and craftsmanship and should be used with care. The following suggestions will help you use the warranty service effectively.
- Keep the equipment dry. Rain, moisture, and liquids can contain minerals that corrode electronic circuits. If the device gets wet, dry it completely.
- Do not use or store in dusty or dirty areas, as this can damage detachable parts and electronic components.
- Do not store in excessive heat. High temperatures can shorten the life of electronic devices, damage batteries, and deform or melt plastic parts.
- Do not store in excessively cold places. When the temperature rises, moisture may form inside, potentially damaging the board.
- Do not throw, knock, or shake the device. Rough handling can destroy internal circuit boards and delicate structures.
- Do not wash with strong chemicals, detergents, or abrasive cleaners.
- Do not apply paint. Smudges can block debris in detachable parts and affect normal operation.
- Do not throw batteries into a fire, as they can explode. Damaged batteries may also explode.
All these suggestions apply equally to the device, battery, and accessories. If any device is not working properly, please take it to the nearest authorized service facility for repair.
