IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR CORRECT DISPOSAL OF THE PRODUCT IN ACCORDANCE WITH EC DIRECTIVE 2012/19/EU. 3 At the end of its working life, the product must be taken to a special local authority waste collection centre or to a dealer providing appliance recycling services. Disposing of a household appliance separately avoids possible negative consequences for the environment and health. It also enables the constituent materials to be recovered, saving both energy and resources. As a reminder of the need to dispose of household appliances separately, the product is marked with a crossed-out wheeled dustbin. Please note: · Under no circumstances should the extractor be connected to any gas ventilation system, flue system or hot air ducting system. · Do not vent the extractor into an attic or loft space. · Only house the extractor in rooms with adequate ventilation. Remember that the extractor is powerful and whatever air is extracted needs to be replaced. · Do not tile the extractor in. It should be removable for service or maintenance. · Do not use silicone sealant to secure the hood to the wall. · You must be able to isolate the extractor from the mains electrical supply after installation. · This extractor has been designed to be used in a room with a volume of less than 36m . · Steam cleaners must not be used when cleaning this appliance. · The performance of your extractor will vary depending on a number of factors. These include: type of extraction, length of ducting, room volume, ventilation available and cleanliness of the filters. 4 Information and Advice CAUTION:Accessible parts may become hot when used with cooking appliances. In certain circumstances electrical appliance may be a danger hazard. A) There must be adequate ventilation of the room when the cooker hood is used at the same time as appliances burning gas or other fuels. B)Do not check the status of the filters while the cooker hood is operating. C)Do not touch the light bulb within half an hour after appliance has been use. D)Do not light a flame under the cooker hood. E)Avoid opening gasometer when there is no pan on the stove, as it is damaging for the filters and a fire hazard. F)Constantly check food frying to avoid overheated oil splashing and becoming a fire hazard. G) Disconnect the electrical plug prior to any maintenance. H) Regulations concerning the discharge of air have to be fulfilled. I) When the range hood and appliances supplied with energy Other than electricity are simultan ously in operation.The negative pressure in the room must not exceed 4 Pa (4x10-5 bar). Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised. 5 Information and Advice L)the range hood is inteded to be installed over a hob having no more than four hob elements. M) Indoor use and household use only. N)When the appliance is not in use and before cleaning, unplug the appliance from the outlet. O) Attention ! Observe the warning in the instruction sheet concerning the operation of the appliance when air is discharged from the room. P) There is a fire risk if cleaning is not carried out in accordance with the instructions. Q) The air must not be discharged into a flue that is used for exhausting fumes from appliances burning gas or other fuels (not applicable to appliances that only discharge the air back into the room. I)Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. S)Warning: Failure to install the screws or fixing device in accordance with these instructions may result in electrical hazards. T)The installation height of hood shall not be less than 65cm. U)The filter screen must be cleaned regularly, otherwise there is a danger of fire. V)The installation must be carried out according to the screws and positions required by the instructions, which will easily damage the connecting wires. W)If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard. 6 Using your Extractor For best performance, you should switch on the extractor 15 minutes before starting to cook and leave it to run for approximately 15 minutes after the end of cooking. To switch on the extractor or to change the speed at any time when the extractor is running · Press the relevant "B" button for the first, second or third speed level as required. · Press the "A" button. 7 8 Cleaning the grease filter The grease filters should be kept clean to minimise the risk of fire. At least once a month you should remove and clean the grease filters with hot soapy water. You can also wash the grease filters in a dishwasher, ensuring that you place it in an upright position to prevent damage from other items in the dishwasher. After rinsing and drying, replace the filters. To remove the grease filters, pull open the handle on the grease filter. It will release at the handle side. Then lower the grease filter to remove it completely (fig. 2). To replace the grease filter, repeat the steps in reverse. Please note: Cleaning the grease filters in the dishwasher may lead to discolouration. This is normal and does not constitute a fault with the appliance. Changing the charcoal filter (re-circulating only) To ensure best performance of your extractor, you should replace the charcoal filters every four to six months, depending on use. To attach a new charcoal filter, first remove the grease filters as Then according to the position shown in Figure 3, Adsorption the carbon filter to the body of the range hood, paying attention to the center installation of the carbon filter. 9 Changing the light This appliance is fitted with energy saving LED lighting that has a considerably longer life expectancy than traditional filament bulbs. These are not user-replaceable in the unlikely event of a failure. Do not touch bulbs or adjacent areas during or straight after prolonged use of the lights. The light is designed for use during cooking and not for general room illumination. Extended use of the light can reduce the life span of the bulb. In case of malfunction of the illumination system contact the technical service. Replaceable (LED only) light LED LED source by a professional Mounting your extractor When the extractor is to be installed above an electric hob, the minimum distance between the hob and extractor must exceed 600mm for ceramic and solid plate hobs and 550mm for induction Hobs. When the extractor is to be installed above a gas hob, the minimum distance between the hob and extractor must exceed 650mm. If the instructions provided with your gas hob state that the required distance between the hob and extractor must be greater than 700mm, then that is the distance that should be observed; this is a legal requirement and may lead to your hob being disconnected from the gas supply and the installation being reported under RIDDOR (The height should be measured from the top of the burners). IN THE ABSENCE OF ANY INSTRUCTIONS SUPPLIED WITH THE GAS HOB, THE MINIMUM DISTANCE BETWEEN THE HOB AND EXTRACTOR MUST BE AT LEAST 760mm. 10 The width of any hob must not be greater than the width of the extractor installed above it. Ducting and ventilation For best performance and lowest noise output, we recommend the use of 150mm ducting. You can also use 120mm ducting but this will reduce performance. In general, the less ducting you use (i.e. distance follows: · 4 metres with 1 x 90° bend. · 3 metres with 2 x 90° bends. · 2 metres with 3 x 90° bends. Longer ducting can be used but the performance of the extractor will likely be reduced. Please note: Ducting components and ducting kits are optional accessories and have to be ordered, they are not automatically supplied with the hood. Use of ducting less than 150mm in diameter extractor. 11 Installation Note · We recommend that you seek the help of another individual when installing this product. Always wear adequate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). · The fixings supplied are suitable for most installations. It is the responsibility of the installer to ensure that the fixings are suitable for the ceiling type in the property. Installation steps 1. Firstly, fix the vent outlet to the extractor body using four screws, as shown in fig 5. ceiling Extractor height B - clearance required Gas: 650mm recommended. Electric: 600/550mm recommended. Fig. 4 A - burner height floor 2. Using the supplied template, mark the positions of the ceiling mounting screws and the cut-out for the ducting pipe, if required. Fix four suitable wall plugs into the Fig. 5 holes and proceed to assemble the extractor, as described in fig 6. 3. To determine the overall height of Fig. 6 12 the chimney section, use the calculation shown on this page for your extractor (also refer to fig 4): 2 1 A = Height of gas hob burner or electric hotplate height from the kitchen floor B = Clearance required: Gas hobs 650mm recommended Electric hobs: Fig. 7 Ceramic hobs and solid plate 600mm recommended; Induction hobs 550mm recommended. A+B is the required height of the body of the extractor above the floor. Next we need to calculate the required height of the extractor. Whole extractor height = ceiling height height above floor (A+B). 4. Assemble the chimney sections 1, 2 Fig. 8 on the diagram fig 7, using the supplied fixing screws and fix to the chimney body. Measure the height of the chimney and ensure that it is equal or less than the height calculated in step 3. Place the chimney section over the body assembly, as shown in fig 8. 6. With the help of another individual, raise the whole assembly to the ceiling and fix securely in place using four screws appropriate for the wall plugs inserted in step 2. Ensure that the supporting ceiling is strong enough to take the weight before releasing the extractor. 7. Connect the ducting to the extractor vent outlet, securing it in place with a cable tie, duct tape or other suitable means. 8. Finally, raise the inner section of the chimney to the ceiling and secure in place using the two small screws supplied 9. Note that the electrical connection to the extractor should not be located inside the boundaries of the chimney. This is especially important if the extractor is to be used as a recycling device. There should be an isolation switch so that the extractor can be disconnected from the mains electrical supply after installation. The metal casing of this appliance has been coated with a preservative to protect it during transport and storage. This should be removed during installation by using a non-abrasive stainless steel cleaner. Always follow the instructions given with the cleaner being used. 14 Mains Electricity Connection THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE CONNECTED TO THE MAINS SUPPLY BY A COMPETENT PERSON, USING FIXED WIRING VIA A DOUBLE POLE SWITCHED FUSED SPUR OUTLET AND PROTECTED BY A 3A FUSE. We recommend that the appliance is connected by a qualified electrician, who is a member of the N.I.C.E.I.C. and who will comply with the I.E.E. and local regulations.
