We recommend replacing filters every 5-6 months, though actual replacement frequency may vary based on water quality and usage. Tip: In areas with sediment-heavy or older plumbing systems, you may need to replace the white filter more frequently.
1. Check the Filter
Examine the white filter. Some discoloration, such as brown or gray buildup, is normal and indicates the filter is working. Replace the white filter when you notice heavy discoloration or a significant drop in water pressure, whichever occurs first.
2. Turn Off Water
Ensure the water supply is completely turned off at the shower faucet before proceeding with replacing any filter cartridges.
3. Remove Filter Housing
Gently twist the clear filter housing counterclockwise to remove the cartridge. It is advisable to hold the Weddell Duo unit in place while unscrewing to prevent the entire unit from loosening.
4. Replace Cartridge
Select the correct filter cartridge. Match each filter to its corresponding housing using the cap colors: use the red-capped filter for the black housing and the blue-capped filter for the white housing. Ensure both cartridges are properly seated before reattaching the housing.
5. Reattach Housing
Align each housing with its matching color and gently turn it clockwise until the assembly marks are horizontally aligned.
6. Flush System
Turn the water supply back on. Let the water run for approximately 3 minutes to flush out any residual buildup. Your Weddell Duo is now ready for use.
Performance Data Sheet
NSF/ANSI Standard 177 & 372
This system has been tested according to NSF/ANSI 177 for the reduction of free available chlorine and NSF/ANSI 372 for low lead content verification. The concentration of free available chlorine in water entering the system was reduced to a level less than or equal to the permissible limit for water leaving the system, as specified in NSF/ANSI 177. This system has not been evaluated for free available chlorine reduction performance in the presence of chloramines. Free available chlorine reduction performance may be impacted by chloramines in the water supply. Please contact your local water utility to determine if chloramines are used in your water.
