2. SYSTEM
2.1 General
2.1.1 Description: The heat pump and cooling-only air conditioner are variable capacity, mini-split type systems, each comprised of a single outdoor and a single wall-mounted indoor unit.
2.1.2 Toxicity: The heat pump system complies with RoHS standards.
2.2 Installation Requirements
2.2.1 Lineset:
- Installer supplies connecting refrigerant lines between indoor and outdoor units.
- Tubing must be annealed ACR-type copper, meeting ASTM B280 standards.
- Tubing must be continuous and flared using a 45° flaring tool approved for R-410A.
- Connections made with supplied flare nuts using a torque wrench and back-up wrench.
- Each tube must be insulated with a minimum of 1/2 inch (12.7mm) closed-foam insulation that is UV resistant and meets ASTM Standard E84 25/50 flame spread/smoke development.
- Lineset must not exceed maximum length and height difference specified in Section 1. Specifications.
2.3 Electrical Requirements:
2.3.1 Electrical Supply: Models operate on 208/230 volts AC, single-phase, 60 hertz. Voltage must be between 187~253 volts. Installation must comply with local building and electrical codes.
2.3.2 Connecting Wire to Indoor: Use 4 conductor - 14 AWG stranded copper wire. Wire must be continuous unless local code requires a disconnect at the indoor unit.
3. OUTDOOR UNITS

3.2 General
3.2.1 Outdoor Unit Description: Comprised of a condenser coil with all necessary components and controls for rated operation.
3.2.2 Sound Pressure Rating: Measured according to JIS C 961 standard.

3.2.3 Warranty: Covered by manufacturer's parts warranty.
3.3 Installation
3.3.1 Condensate: Installer must adhere to local building codes for condensate water management.
3.3.2 Clearances: Installer must follow recommended clearances from the Installation Manual.
3.4 Components
3.4.1 Coil: Blue hydrophilic coating on aluminum fins, internally grooved copper tubing for 25% increased heat exchange surface area. Factory charged with R-410A refrigerant for 25 feet of lineset.
3.4.2 Fan Motor: Brushless, variable speed DCV motor type, molded with heat-hardened resin, permanently lubricated SRC bearings.
3.4.3 Fan Blade: UL flame rated plastic-resin design, factory balanced for quiet performance and enhanced velocity.
3.4.4 Compressor: DC rotary type, A-PAM inverter-driven for stable operation. Variable speed, variable capacity with internal overload protection. Uses PVE (FV50S) refrigerant oil.
3.4.5 4WV: Four-way reversing valve to change system mode from cool to heat.
3.4.6 EEV: Electronic expansion valve regulates refrigerant flow. Outdoor control monitors flow using a pulse-operated coil to maintain 10°F (5.5°C) of superheat.
3.4.7 Base Pan: Commercial grade DC51/DC52 hot-dip galvanized steel with coating. Ships with a 1/2 inch drain port adapter.
3.4.8 Copper Piping: Internally connected copper tubing conforms to ASTM B280 tolerances.
3.4.9 Outdoor Enclosure Materials: Commercial grade DC51/DC52 hot-dip galvanized steel with coating.
3.4.10 Defrost: Heat pump units feature a reverse-cycle (hot gas) defrost system.
3.4.11 Accumulator: Connected to the compressor return line to prevent liquid refrigerant from entering the compressor.

4.2.3 Warranty: Covered by manufacturer's parts warranty.
4.3 Installation
4.3.1 Condensate: Shipped with insulated polyethylene condensate tubing (5/8" ID) and a 6.5 ft (2m) corrugated drain tube. Gravity drain.
4.3.2 Clearances: Follow minimum clearances illustrated in the Installation Manual.
4.3.3 Mounting: Ships with a galvanized metal wall bracket with multiple anchor points. Field-supplied mounting hardware must be sufficient.
4.4 Electrical Requirements
4.4.1 Electrical Disconnect: Connecting wire must be continuous unless local code requires a disconnect at the indoor unit. If required, it must be a 3-pole, single-throw type.

4.5.2 Fan Motor: Sealed DC multiple-speed resin-packed motor with permanently lubricated bearings.
4.5.3 Fan Blade: Corrosion-resistant cross-flow blower, designed for quiet and even airflow.
4.5.4 Copper Piping: Connected to insulated annealed copper with male flare connections.
4.5.5 Air Louvers: Horizontal non-motorized and vertical motorized louvers for wide angle airflow distribution (horizontal 120°, vertical 90°).
4.5.6 Display: 4.5 x 1.1-inch backlit display for temperature and mode icons. Can be turned off via remote.
4.5.7 WiFi: Built-in WiFi capabilities.
4.5.8 Filter: Removable, washable, and reusable air filters.
4.5.9 Control: Ships with a standard hand-held remote control. Compatible with simple and programmable wired controllers.
