Self-Cleaning Litter Box

Quick Start Guide

No Tools Required for Setup

1. Unpack Components

Unpack the following items: LitterMaid™ litter box, AC adapter (in styrofoam packaging), disposable waste receptacles, LitterMaid™ triple-action tool, use and care book, cleaning brush (packed with disposable waste receptacles), and any optional items such as carbon filters, paw-cleaning ramp, cat-privacy tent, and litter box carpet.

2. Prepare Rake and Compartments

2a. Cut and remove the restraints located on each end of the rake.

2b. Peel off the protective tape from the waste receptacle compartment cover and the battery compartment. Remove any styrofoam from the top of the rake.

Note: The unit comes with an initial waste receptacle installed.

3. Install Waste Receptacle

3a. Place a disposable waste receptacle under the waste receptacle compartment cover. Ensure the front of the waste receptacle is positioned under the five tabs. There should be no gap between the unit and the waste receptacle.

3b. Attach the waste receptacle lid by inserting the push-tabs into the round holes. Secure the lid by pressing on the indicated positions.

3c. If carbon filters are included: Peel off the paper strip on the carbon filter to expose the adhesive. Place the filter adhesive-side down into the diamond-shaped insert located in the center of the waste receptacle lid. Close the waste receptacle compartment cover.

4. Fill with Litter

Use only premium clumping litter. Do not use non-clumping litter, crystal, or pearl-like litters. Fill the LitterMaid™ litter box to just below the "Full Line" indicator.

5. Check Litter Level

Use the LitterMaid™ triple-action tool to verify that the litter is at the correct level in the center of the unit. Do not overfill the unit, as this may prevent proper operation.

6. Connect Power and Start

6a. Remove the AC adapter from its styrofoam packaging and plug it into the unit.

6b. Plug the adapter cord into a standard electrical wall outlet.

6c. Turn the On/Off switch to the "on" position. A red indicator light will appear.

6d. The rake will automatically initiate its first cleaning cycle, smoothing out the litter. Your LitterMaid™ is now ready for use!
