Product Information
An induction hob is a modern cooking appliance that offers many advantages compared to a traditional hob, such as easy cleaning, high efficiency, environmental friendliness, and safety.
A few words about induction cooking (induction hobs only)
Induction cooking is a safe, advanced, efficient, and economical cooking technology. It works on the principle of electromagnetic vibrations, generating heat directly in the pot, rather than indirectly by heating the glass surface. The glass heats up only because it is affected by the hot pan.
Diagram illustrating induction cooking principle:
Shows a pot on the hob, with arrows indicating magnetic field, induced currents, and heat transfer.
Suitable cookware:
- Iron pot
- Magnetic base
- Ceramic glass hob
- Induction coil
- Induced currents
Before using your new hob
- Read this guide, paying particular attention to the 'Safety Warnings' section.
- Remove any protective films that may still be on the hob.
- Remove any protective films that may still be on the induction hob.
Using the touch controls
- The controls respond to touch, so no pressure needs to be applied.
- Use the pad of your finger, not the tip.
- Each time a touch is registered, you will hear a beep.
- Ensure that the controls are always clean, dry, and not covered by any objects (e.g., kitchen utensils or a cloth). Even a thin layer of water can make it difficult to operate the controls.
Choosing the right cookware (for induction hobs)
Important: Only ferromagnetic cookware is suitable for induction cooking. Look for the induction symbol on the packaging or the bottom of the cookware. You can check if your cookware is suitable by performing a magnet test. Move a magnet towards the base of the cookware. If it is attracted, the pan is suitable for induction.
- If you don't have a magnet:
- Pour a little water into the pan you want to check.
- Follow the instructions in the 'To start cooking' section.
- If the indicator on the display does not flash and the water heats up, the cookware is suitable.
Cookware made from the following materials is not suitable: pure stainless steel, aluminum or copper without a magnetic base, glass, wood, porcelain, ceramic, and stoneware.
Hob size (mm) | Minimum hob size (diameter/mm) |
---|---|
160 | 120 |
180 | 140 |
180x380 | 240 |
Do not use cookware with uneven edges or a curved bottom.
Ensure that the base of the pan is flat, lies flush with the glass, and is the same size as the cooking zone. Always place the cookware in the center of the cooking zone.
Always remove pans from the hob – do not slide them, as they may scratch the glass.
Diagrams showing suitable and unsuitable cookware:
Illustrations show pans with magnetic bases (suitable) and pans without magnetic bases or with uneven bases (unsuitable).
If the base of the cookware is only partially ferromagnetic, only the area that is ferromagnetic will heat up. This may mean that the heat is not distributed evenly. The non-ferromagnetic surface may not heat up to a temperature that allows cooking.
The ferromagnetic surface will also be smaller if the material from which the base of the cookware is made includes, for example, aluminum. This may mean that the cookware will not heat up sufficiently or will not be detected at all.
The materials from which the base of the cookware is made can affect the final cooking result. Using pots and pans made from materials that distribute heat evenly, such as stainless steel pans with a triple-layer base, saves time and energy. Use cookware with a flat bottom. If the bottom of the cookware is uneven, it may hinder heat transfer.

Cooking tips
Warning: Exercise caution when frying, as oil and fat heat up very quickly, especially if you use the Power Boost function. At extremely high temperatures, oil and fat will ignite spontaneously, posing a serious fire risk.
Cooking tips
- Once the food boils, reduce the temperature setting.
- Using a lid shortens cooking time and saves energy by retaining heat.
- Minimize the amount of liquid or fat to shorten cooking time.
- Start cooking at a high level and reduce the setting once the food is hot.
Simmering, cooking rice
- Simmering occurs below boiling point, around 85°C, when bubbles occasionally rise to the surface of the cooking liquid. It is key to preparing delicious soups and delicate stews, as it prevents overcooking. You should also cook egg-based sauces and those thickened with flour below boiling point.
- Some tasks, including absorption method rice cooking, may require a setting higher than the lowest to ensure the food is cooked correctly within the recommended time.
Roast steak
To cook juicy, flavorful steaks:
- Let the meat sit at room temperature for about 20 minutes before cooking.
- Preheat a heavy-based pan.
- Brush both sides of the steak with oil. Drizzle a small amount of oil onto the hot pan, then place the meat onto the hot pan.
- Turn the steak only once while frying. The exact cooking time will depend on the thickness of the steak and how you like it cooked. The time may be around 2-8 minutes per side. Press the steak to gauge its doneness – the firmer it is, the more “well-done” it is.
- Let the steak rest for a few minutes on a warm plate to relax and tenderize before serving.
For stir-frying
- Choose a flat-bottomed wok or a large pan compatible with the ceramic hob.
- Prepare all ingredients and equipment. Stir-frying should be quick. If you are cooking large quantities, cook the food in several smaller batches.
- Briefly heat the pan and add two tablespoons of oil.
- Cook the meat first, set it aside, and keep it warm.
- Stir-fry the vegetables. When they are hot but still crisp, set the cooking zone to a lower level, return the meat to the pan, and add the sauce.
- Gently mix the ingredients to ensure they are heated through.
- Serve immediately.
