Introduction
NDI Core primarily addresses the limitation of NDI encoders being pulled by multiple back-ends simultaneously. It virtualizes video sources into multiple NDI channels for output, integrating functions like video source switching and playlist management. Users can create playlists to dynamically set program sources, adjust playback sequences and timing for sequence, loop, and switch playback of video sources.
- NDI video sources support NDI and NDI|HX input, compatible with any other software/hardware outputting NDI to the NDI Core system.
- When the Switcher receives NDI|HX, the virtual output is also NDI|HX. If the video source is NDI, the output is also NDI.
- For compatibility, it is recommended that the optical module used for the device's optical port and the switch be of the same brand and type. For transmission distances under 500 meters, a multi-mode optical module can be used. For distances over 500 meters, a single-mode optical module is recommended.
- The device is equipped with two redundant power supplies. If only one power supply is connected, it will emit a continuous beep, and hot-swap replacement is supported.
- The device includes two 40G optical ports, which can be connected to the network for NDI input and output.
4 5.5-Inch Touch Screen Configurations
4.1 Network Settings
Navigate to "System Setting" > "Network Setting" on the screen to configure the service IP address, subnet mask, and gateway. After saving, the IP address is used for WEB management and video preview. DHCP automatic acquisition is also supported.
[Image description: Screenshot of the NDI CORE network settings interface, showing fields for NIC name, IP address, Gateway, Subnet mask, DNS1, DNS2, and DHCP status.]
4.2 Login to the NDI CORE
Click the ? (QR code) icon in the upper right corner to log in to the webpage using one of two methods:
- Method 1: Enter the IP address (e.g.,
http://192.168.20.1
) in your browser. - Method 2: Scan the QR code displayed on the screen.
[Image description: A QR code is displayed, with the URL http://192.168.20.1:81 below it.]
Note:
- Due to compatibility, it is recommended to use Chrome or Edge browsers to access the webpage.
- To ensure information security, please change your initial password upon your first login.
- The NDI CORE login port is 81 by default.
4.3 System Settings
When the device is connected to the network, you can enable or disable SSH control, change the HTTP port, and restore factory settings.
[Image description: Screenshot of the NDI CORE system settings interface, showing SSH Configurations (Enable/Disable), Username, SSH port, and options to change default SSH password and restore factory settings.]
Introduction
- Password settings: The password setting is not a public module. The user needs to enter the password to check it. The initial password is: 123456. Please change your initial password the first time you log in.
- SSH configurations: When SSH control is enabled, the default username is 'admin' and the port is 22. Clicking [Reset SSH Password] will cause the system to automatically generate a password. A warning text will then be displayed: "Please remember this password, for security, the SSH password will not be displayed in the future".
- HTTP port settings: Support to change the port.
5 Login to NDI CORE MAX
Enter http://server IP: 81/
in your browser and log in to the NDI CORE webpage. The username and password are both 'admin' by default.
[Image description: Screenshot of the NDI CORE login page, showing fields for username (pre-filled with 'admin') and password, and a 'Login' button.]
Note:
- To ensure information security, please change your initial password the first time you log in.
- The NDI CORE login port is 81 by default.
6 Dashboard
Click "Dashboard" on the WEB page to check system information, including network status, system status, resources, and logs.
[Image description: Screenshot of the NDI CORE dashboard, showing Network Status, System Status (Memory Usage, CPU), Resources (My Panel, NDI Resource, NDI Output), and Logs.]
Introduction
Network status:
eno1
: NIC name on the NDI CORE server.49.12G/1.37T
: Total upstream traffic/downstream traffic of the current device.- ⬇️ Real-time traffic input of the current network.
- ⬆️ Real-time traffic output of the network.
- The maximum bandwidth of the current network.
Resources: Displays the input sources, outputs, and number of panels.
- NDI Source: All user-added NDI video sources, not including those discovered but not added.
- NDI Output: All user-created NDI output sources.
- My Panel: The number of panels created under the user.
7 NDI CORE MAX Configurations
Click "Resource Management" to add and manage NDI input, NDI output, and play lists.
[Image description: A table showing NDI Input details, including Number, NDI Source, NDI Group, Device IP, Status, and Operation.]
Step 1: Add NDI input sources
Click "Add Input" to add NDI sources to "NDI Input". Sources can be added using the following methods:
Click "[public-auto discovery]". All NDI sources under the same network segment of the LAN and in the "public" group will be automatically discovered. Then, select the NDI sources to be added.
[Image description: Screenshot of the NDI Input interface with the "Add NDI Source" dialog open, showing options for Manual Discovery and public-Auto Discovery.]
Step 2: Add NDI output
Create NDI virtual output to realize NDI output by controlling NDI input sources or playlists. A single NDI source input can support multiple NDI channels output.
Click "NDI Output" to enter the NDI output management page. Click "Add Output" to create an NDI output channel.
[Image description: Screenshot of the NDI Output management page with an "Add Output" dialog open, allowing configuration of Channel Name, NDI Group, and Smooth Parameter.]
Introduction
- NDI Channel Name: This is the output NDI channel name. Please use distinct names for multiple NDI outputs. Combinations of text, numbers, and symbols are supported. When multiple control panels are in use, they can share the same output channel. If an output is not locked to a specific panel, it can be switched.
For more details, please refer to the user manual.
Step 3: Add panel
Click "Panel Control" to create a control panel. Configure NDI input and output with crosspoint and IO panel functionality, supporting unicast and loop.
[Image description: Screenshot of the Panel Control interface, showing tabs for General, Crosspoint, and IO Panel. The Crosspoint view displays NDI inputs mapped to NDI outputs.]
Introduction
- General: Add NDI source and NDI output channels by clicking "Manage" on the right side of NDI input and NDI output.
- NDI source status: Displays the resolution, frame rate of NDI sources, and the real-time encoding bit rate of the inputted video and audio.
- NDI output: The NDI output channel created when the panel is added. When a device at the back end creates a certain output, the output status displays the decoded resolution, frame rate, video, and audio bitrate.
- Play list: When the NDI output channel selects "Loop", all NDI input video sources in the list will be displayed. A circle indicating time progress status will appear on the right side of the video source.
- Crosspoint/IO Panel: Configure NDI input and output via the crosspoint. A green square ? indicates that the NDI input sources will output from the NDI output channels.
For details, please refer to the user manual.
Step 4: Crosspoint and IO panel
Configure the NDI input and output by the crosspoint. A green square ? indicates that the NDI input sources will output from the NDI output channels.
[Image description: A visual representation of the crosspoint matrix, showing inputs on the left and outputs on the top. Green squares indicate active connections.]
In the "IO Panel", operations are identical to "Crosspoint" except for the display. Clicking OUT1 will show the first NDI source highlighted in green, indicating it's outputting from OUT1. Clicking the second video source and turning it green means it's also outputting from OUT1.
