Installation
- Determine the placement of the rod on the wall. Reference the Installation Diagram on the reverse side.
- Measure and mark the bracket locations above the window frame. Use a level to ensure the rod will be level on the wall.
- Mark the three mounting holes for each bracket on the wall using the Wall Mount (Part-B) as a template.
- Drill three 1/8" diameter pilot holes in the wall for all marked bracket locations.
- For drywall (hollow wall) installation: Screw plastic wall anchors (Part-G) into pilot holes until flush. Do not over tighten.
- For wall stud installation: The plastic wall anchors (Part-G) are not used.
- Attach both Wall Mounts (Part-B) with the mounting stub pointing away from the wall (as shown in Figure 1). Hand tighten all mounting screws (Part-F) using a screwdriver to prevent screw head damage.
- Place Wall Bracket (Part-C) over the Wall Mount (Part-B) and tighten the rear set screw (Part-H) using the Allen Wrench (Part-I) provided (as shown in Figure 2).
- Insert the Rod Bracket (Part-D) into the Wall Bracket (Part-C) and set the desired distance from the wall. Tighten the forward set screw (Part-H) with the Allen Wrench (Part-I) provided to lock the Rod Bracket (Part-D) in place.
- Install draperies or clip rings on the rod (Part-A) and place the rod in both brackets mounted on the wall (as shown in Figure 3).
- Center the rod (Part-A) in the wall brackets and tighten the set screw (Part-E) with a screwdriver in each of the Rod Brackets (Part-D).
- Attach the End Caps (Part-J) to each end of the rod (Part-A) and tighten the set screw (Part-H) with the Allen Wrench (Part-I) included (as shown in Figure 3).
- Thank you for your purchase. Please enjoy your new window.
Diagram Explanations
Figure 1: Wall Mount Attachment
Shows a Wall Mount (Part-B) being attached to the wall. The mounting stub should point away from the wall. Mounting screws (Part-F) are used to secure it. Hand-tighten screws initially.
Figure 2: Bracket Assembly
Illustrates a Wall Bracket (Part-C) placed over the Wall Mount (Part-B). The rear set screw (Part-H) on the Wall Bracket is tightened using the provided Allen Wrench (Part-I) to secure it to the Wall Mount.
Figure 3: Rod Installation and Securing
Depicts the Rod Bracket (Part-D) inserted into the Wall Bracket (Part-C), allowing for adjustable distance from the wall. The rod (Part-A) is placed into the Rod Bracket. A set screw (Part-E) is tightened with a screwdriver to secure the rod within the bracket. End Caps (Part-J) are attached to the rod ends and secured with set screws (Part-H), tightened using the Allen Wrench (Part-I).
Installation Diagram Explanation (Measurements)
Rod Placement and Sizing
The diagram illustrates how to determine the correct rod width and placement for your window.
Rod Positioning: Position the rod 2" to 6" above the window frame.
Measurements for Rod Width:
- A: Measure the overall window width on the outside of the window frame on both sides.
- B: Add 2" to 12" on each side for panels to stack.
The minimum drapery rod width needed is calculated as: A + B + B.
Panel Height Consideration: The height at which the drapery rod is mounted depends on whether you will be attaching the panels with drapery rings (as shown on the right side of the diagram) or without rings (as shown on the left). Place the panel onto the rod (with or without rings), determine the desired panel placement, and then mark the bracket mounting positions accordingly.
The diagram also indicates the End Bracket Mounting Positions at both ends of the rod.
