Hookup Diagrams

The following diagrams illustrate common setup configurations for the Heritage SVT-CL amplifier and speaker cabinets.

Standard Setup

This setup connects the Heritage SVT-CL amplifier to a single speaker cabinet. The amplifier's speaker output (Speakon or 1/4") connects to the speaker cabinet's input.

Diagram shows the SVT-CL amplifier connected via its speaker output to a single speaker cabinet labeled "Speaker Cabinet A".

Parallel Setup

This setup connects the Heritage SVT-CL amplifier to two speaker cabinets simultaneously. The amplifier's speaker output connects to the input of Speaker Cabinet A, and Speaker Cabinet A's output connects to Speaker Cabinet B's input.

Diagram shows the SVT-CL amplifier connected to Speaker Cabinet A, which is then daisy-chained to Speaker Cabinet B. Both cabinets are connected to the amplifier.

Daisy Chaining

This setup connects the Heritage SVT-CL amplifier to two speaker cabinets. The amplifier's speaker output connects to the input of Speaker Cabinet A, and Speaker Cabinet A's output connects to Speaker Cabinet B's input. This is similar to parallel but emphasizes the chain connection.

Diagram shows the SVT-CL amplifier connected to Speaker Cabinet A, which is then daisy-chained to Speaker Cabinet B. Both cabinets are connected to the amplifier.

Note: Always use speaker cabinets with the same impedance in parallel setups and when daisy-chaining. For all setups, using the amplifier's Speakon® Output to connect to a cabinet's Speakon Input is recommended, but you can alternatively use the amplifier's 1/4" Speaker Output to a cabinet's 1/4" Input.

Getting Started

  1. Read and understand the included “Important Safety Instructions.”
  2. Ensure the Power and Standby switches are both in the "down" position before making any connections.
  3. Push the line cord securely into the amplifier's IEC connector (11) and plug the other end into a grounded AC outlet. The amplifier is designed to accept the appropriate voltage as indicated near the IEC connector.
  4. Connect an instrument to the Heritage SVT-CL Input jack (1 or 2) using a shielded 1/4" instrument cable. Connect the amplifier to speaker cabinets using non-shielded speaker cable with Speakon or 1/4" TS ends.
  5. With the Master and Gain controls fully off, turn on the amplifier by pressing the top edge of the Power switch (10). The Power LED (8) will illuminate. Wait 30 seconds for the tubes to warm up.
  6. Press the top edge of the Standby switch (9) to exit Standby mode.
  7. While playing the instrument, adjust the Gain (3) and Master (7) knobs to the preferred level.
  8. Adjust the EQ knobs (6) and switches (4, 5) to taste.
