Component Overview

The fan assembly includes a receiver, hanger, canopy, canopy cover, yoke cover, downrod (or long downrod), motor housing, motor, blades, blade screws, lamp housing with LED, lamp shade, hardware bag, and shipping blocks. The motor housing contains the main motor unit. Blades attach to the motor. The lamp housing and shade are located below the motor. The canopy and covers conceal the ceiling mount and wiring.

Note: Remove shipping blocks from the motor. Save the screws; they are needed for blade iron installation.

Installation Instructions

Step 1: Mounting

Take out the fan downrod and motor housing. Remove the cotter pin and bolt from the downrod. Loosen the jam screw in the yoke until it is flush with the inside surface. Place the downrod inside the canopy, canopy cover, and yoke cover. Route wires exiting the motor through the yoke cover, canopy, and downrod. Insert the bolt through the hole in the downrod. Secure with the cotter pin through the end of the bolt. Secure the downrod by tightening jam screws. Slide the yoke cover down until it is flush with the motor housing. Ensure the downrod and set screw are completely tightened for wobble-free operation.

Step 2: Install Hanger

Mount the fan to a UL/CSA-listed outlet box marked "Acceptable for Fan Support". Secure the hanger to the metal outlet box using the provided mounting screws. Hang the ceiling fan on the hanger, aligning the hanger ball groove with the hanger boss.

Step 3: Attaching the Fan Blades

Attach each blade to the motor using blade screws. Repeat for all blade assemblies.

Step 4: Assembling the Lamp Housing

Feed wires through the center hole of the lamp housing. Secure the lamp housing with screws. Connect the plugs from the motor to the LED module.

Step 5: Lampshade Installation

Install the lampshade onto the lamp housing by turning it clockwise until it locks into place.

Step 6: Receiver Installation

Place the receiver in the hanger bracket.

Step 7: Wiring the Fan

Connect wires according to the wiring diagram. This involves connecting wires from the ceiling (white, blue, yellow, red, gray) to the receiver and then from the receiver to the light and motor. Ensure grounding wires from the ceiling, receiver, and fan are connected. Tuck all wires and connectors into the metal outlet box, ensuring they are clear of the hemisphere and downrod.

Step 8: Attaching Canopy and Canopy Cover

Slide the canopy up to the ceiling and attach it to the hanger bracket with screws. Tighten all screws securely. Place the canopy cover onto the canopy; it attaches magnetically.

Operation

Remote Control Operation

Open the battery cover on the hand-held remote and install one AAA battery (1.5V), which is not included.

If the emitter cannot control the fan, use the learning code matching mode. Turn on the power switch, then press the 'SETUP' button within 3 seconds. The receiver should emit two 'tick' sounds, indicating successful pairing. If unsuccessful, turn off the power for a minute and repeat.

If the emitter cannot control the receiver, check battery contact, polarity, and charge. Also, check for nearby remote-controlled products operating on the same frequency, as they may cause interference.

Remove the battery from the emitter when not in use for extended periods.

During fan installation, avoid pressing the antenna or other wires against the fan ceiling cover, as this can damage the wire and cause a short circuit.

Remote Functions:

Beeping Sound Activation:

To activate the beeping sound, press and hold the "4H" button on the handle after powering on. Release the button after hearing the buzzing sound. To turn off the prompt sound, turn off the power, then turn it back on and repeat the operation.

Light Memory Function:

  1. The light defaults to a specific color when the fan is turned on.
  2. The light will lock onto a specific color temperature after being on for 10 seconds.
  3. The color temperature will be the same the next time the light is turned on.

Troubleshooting Guide

ProblemSuggested Remedy
If fan does not work.
  • Check branch circuit fuses or breakers.
  • Check line and switch wire connections in the switch housing.
  • Check the battery in the remote control.
  • Ensure you are within the normal range of 10-20 feet.
If fan sounds noisy.
  • Ensure all motor housing screws are snug.
  • Ensure screws attaching blade brackets to the motor hub are tight.
  • Ensure wire nut connections are not rattling against each other or the interior wall of the switch housing.
  • Ensure your outlet box is secure and rubber isolation pads were used between the mounting plate and outlet box.
If fan wobbles.
  • Check that all blade screws are tightened securely to the blade holders.
  • Make sure that canopy and mounting bracket are tightened securely to the ceiling junction box and junction box is mounted firmly to the ceiling joist.
  • Most fan wobble problems are caused when blade levels are unequal. Check this by selecting a point on the ceiling above the tip of one of the blades, keeping measure. With 1/8" (3mm) rotate the fan so that each blade is positioned for measurement. Repeat for each blade. If all blade levels are not equal, you can adjust blade levels by the following procedure: To adjust a blade tip down insert a washer (not supplied) between the blade and blade holder at the screw closest to the motor. To adjust a blade tip up insert washer (not supplied) between the blade and blade holder at the screw farthest from the motor.
  • If blade wobble is still noticeable, interchanging the adjacent (side by side) blades can redistribute the weight and possibly result in smoother operation.
If light does not work.
  • Check blue wire from fan to make sure it is connected to hot wire from the house.
  • Check for loose or disconnected wires in fan/switch housing.
  • Check for loose or disconnected wires in light kit.
  • Check for faulty light bulbs. CAUTION: Make sure main power is turned off before entering switch housing.
  • If the fan light shuts off shortly after being switched on it may be due to excessive current demand. Turn off power to the fan and replace the light bulbs with lower wattage bulbs. Turn on power to the fan using the pull chain, wall switch, or remote control (whichever is installed on the particular fan).

Observe the fan for 24 hours after installation. Most noises associated with a new fan disappear during this time.
