Following the steps indicated, line up the slotboard(s) on the ground in front of the installation location to determine positioning of slotboard(s) on wall.

Find & Mark the locations of the studs between your Left & Right Boundaries using a Studfinder A .
If you don't have a studfinder B , follow suggestions 1-4.

Knocking on a wall: A lower pitch indicates a hollow space behind
the drywall.

Make sure that there are 2 Studs for every horizontal batten that is at least 28" wide.
If more studs are available, we recommend putting a screw in each one.
If there is only 1 Stud, you will need to adjust the positioning of your slotboard so that they can be mounted to at least 2 Studs.

With the help of another adult, place the first slotboard up on the wall, and determine how high you want it to be (Height A).
Then mark that height directly above your center mark

Set the slotboard aside, and prepare the highest batten, as shown.

CONSTRUCTION SCREW IN EACH STUD LOCATION.
BE CAREFUL NOT TO SCREW THROUGH THE BATTEN.

Repeat Steps 5 & 6 with

the lower battens.

Attach the battens to wall at Heights B & C per the table, measuring top to top.

Ensure they are lined up horizontally with the highest batten.

With the help of another adult, position the slotboard up against the wall.
With the top center hole on the slotboard positioned over the pilot hole on the highest batten, screw in a Black Screw.

Using the provided mini-level to ensure your slotboard is level, fasten the slotboard to the bottom batten using a black screw in the bottom-right corner.

Check positioning of the slotboard. If it is correct, then install remaining screws.
If it is wrong, remove bottom-right screw and try again with bottom-left hole.

If you are placing another slotboard adjacent to the existing one using new battens, align the new battens flush with the installed ones. Confirm that the new battens are both level and positioned at the same height as the initial battens before marking the wall. Shift the new battens 3/8" away from the edge of the installed slotboard, then proceed to install them by replicating Steps 6-7.
If you are placing another slotboard next to your existing slotboard using the same battens as already installed (battens are wider than the current installed slotboard), then skip to step 12.

With the help of another adult, position the next slotboard perfectly flush and aligned with its neighbor.
Install 1 Black Screw in top-center hole, and check alignment.
If alignment is off, then remove the 1 Black Screw and try again in a different hole.
After successfully installing the first Black Screw, install remaining black screws.
