Important Safety Instructions
Basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury:
- Read and understand all instructions.
- Follow all warnings and instructions marked on the product.
- Unplug the product from the wall outlet before cleaning. Use a damp cloth for cleaning.
- Do not use the product near water.
- Avoid placing the telephone system in places with extreme temperature, direct sunlight, or other electrical devices. Protect from moisture, dust, corrosive liquids and fumes.
- Ensure proper ventilation for the telephone base.
- Operate only from the indicated power source.
- Do not allow anything to rest on the power cord.
- Never push objects of any kind into the product through slots.
- Do not disassemble the product; take it to an authorized service facility.
- Do not overload wall outlets and extension cords.
- Unplug the product and refer servicing to an authorized service facility if the power supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled, the product has been exposed to rain or water, the product does not operate normally, has been dropped, or the handset/base has been damaged.
- Avoid using a telephone during an electrical storm.
- Do not use the telephone to report a gas leak in the vicinity of the leak.
- Only put the handset next to your ear when it is in normal talk mode.
- The power adapter is intended to be correctly oriented.
- For pluggable equipment, the socket outlet shall be installed near the equipment and shall be easily accessible.
- Use only the supplied batteries. Do not dispose of batteries in a fire.
Battery Safety:
- Use only supplied battery.
- Do not dispose of the battery in a fire.
- Do not open or mutilate the battery.
- Exercise care in handling batteries to avoid short circuits.
- Charge the battery provided with this product only as specified in this manual.
Precautions for users of implanted cardiac pacemakers:
- Keep wireless telephones at least six inches from the pacemaker.
- Do not place wireless telephones directly over the pacemaker.
- Use the telephone at the ear opposite the pacemaker.
About Cordless Telephones
Privacy: Conversations are transmitted by radio waves and may be intercepted.
Electrical Power: The telephone base must be connected to a working electrical outlet not controlled by a wall switch.
Potential TV Interference: Do not place the telephone base near or on top of a TV or VCR to minimize interference.
Rechargeable Batteries: Handle with care to avoid short circuits. Do not burn or puncture batteries.

Connecting the Telephone
Connect the telephone base:
- Connect the telephone line cord to the telephone base and the wall jack.
- Connect the power adapter to the telephone base and a power outlet.
Mounting the telephone base: The base can be mounted on a wall or placed on a desktop.
Connect the charger: Place the handset in the charger to charge the battery.
Install and charge the battery: Follow the diagrams to install the battery and charge the handset.
Before Use
Set date and time: Ensure the date and time are set correctly for proper answering system operation.
Voice guide for Smart call blocker* / Answering system: Follow the voice prompts to set up these features.
Check for dial tone: Press HOME to confirm installation is successful.
Introducing Bluetooth®
Your telephone system features Bluetooth wireless technology, allowing you to:
- Pair up to 2 Bluetooth enabled devices (cell phones or headsets).
- Connect up to 2 devices to make and receive cell calls.
- Connect a Bluetooth headset for home calls.
- Download phonebook entries from your cell phone.
Operating Range: The effective range is up to 15 feet (4.5 meters). Keep connected devices within this range.
Battery Backup Mode: Allows the system to function during a power outage using the handset's battery.
Bluetooth Setup: Pair your cell phone or headset by following the on-screen prompts.
VTech Connect to Cell™ Application: Enhance functionality with this app for Android phones.
Telephone Operations
Make, Answer, or End a Call: Use the HOME/FLASH or CELL buttons on the handset or base.
Call Waiting: Hear a tone for an incoming call and press the appropriate button to switch calls.
Conference Home and Cell Calls: Create a 3-way conference call.
Handset Speakerphone: Press the speakerphone button to talk hands-free.
Volume Control: Adjust listening volume during calls or ringer volume.
Mute: Temporarily turn off the microphone during a call.
Hold: Place a call on hold and resume later.

Intercom
Use the intercom feature for communication between handsets, the base, or registered headsets.
Answer an Incoming Call During an Intercom Call: Press the appropriate button to switch to an incoming home or cell call.
Call Transfer Using Intercom: Transfer an outside call to another device or share a call.
Push-to-Talk (PTT): Broadcast messages directly to other devices.
Answer a PTT Call: Respond to a PTT broadcast.
Change a One-to-One PTT Call to an Intercom Call: Convert a PTT session to an intercom call.
Answer an Incoming Call During a PTT Call: Switch to an incoming call while on a PTT session.
Make an Outgoing Call During a PTT Call: Initiate a new call during a PTT session.

Add a Phonebook Directory Entry: Store contact information.
