Do not spray any paint, insecticide, ethyl alcohol, or any other chemical agent on the appliance's surface. It can cause a crack, electric shock, or fire. If there is a chemical accumulated inside of the device, it will be discharged from the air outlet and dispersed back into the living space. Please ensure the room is well ventilated if using any of the listed chemicals. The air purifier should not be used in a flammable and combustible environment or environment with corrosive air. When the device is on, please do not touch the air inlet or outlet, or put a hand or any object into the air outlet so as to prevent injury or damage to the product. Do not sit on or place any objects on the device. Device is designed for indoor, dry location installation. Not intended for bathroom or high humidity enviornment. WARNING - Failure to follow the instructions below can damage the product or cause personal injury. This appliance is equipped with a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature. Do not use the appliance if the power cord or plug is broken, damaged, and/or defective. This can cause electric shock or fire. Do not touch the power cord with a wet hand. The power cord should only be replaced by the manufacturer or an authorized repair professional. Please clean the foundation and remove the primary filtration net of the PM2.5 module to make sure the appliance performs as intended. Unplug the device from the wall before moving or performing any maintenance. Unplug the device from the wall if it will not be used for an extended period of time. Turn the device off and unplug from the wall if there is a peculiar smell coming from the appliance. Contact manufacturer technical support if this occurs. Do not place foreign objects into the air outlet. Please check the unit for foreign objects before use. The air purifier should be placed at least 20in (50cm) from the wall or other objects. The 3-stage system boasts True HEPA filtration, two high-intensity UVC lamps, and Field Controls' PRO-CellTM Catalyst. OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS Air quality is classified into five levels: Healthy, Good, Fair, Unhealthy, and Poor. The different colors of the air quality indicator light represent the air quality in different states. Control Panel Operating Instructions No Symbol Symbol Name Meaning Child Lock Press and hold for 5 seconds to turn ON/OFF the child lock. All buttons, except the child lock, are disabled when the child lock is ON. Filter The filter indicator will blink when the filters need to be checked or replaced. After the filters have been inspected and/or replaced, press and hold the filter indicator for 5 seconds to reset the filter indicator. No Symbol Symbol Name Meaning UVC The UVC indicator will blink when the UVC lamps need to be replaced. After the UV lights are replaced, press, and hold the UV light change indicator for 5 seconds to reset the UV light indicator. Timer (1H/ 2H/ 4H/ 8H) Set the timer to control how long the purifier should operate. Press to cycle between different lengths of time. The timer light will toggle between remaining hours according to time left until shutting down. Speed 1-5 For manual mode (M T) , press and cycle between the 5-speed options by pressing the manual speed button. The purifier will stay in Manual mode and the selected speed, regardless of the air quality reading, unless turned off or switched to another mode. Auto Mode In AUTO mode, the air speed will be adjusted automatically between speeds 1-5 according to the air quality level. The purifier is equipped with a light sensor and will scan the environmental light in AUTO mode. The purifier will switch to SLEEP mode after being in dark surroundings for 5 minutes. If the purifier picks up light for 5 minutes, the purifier will exit sleep mode and return to AUTO mode. MT Mode Manual Mode The purifier operates on the speed setting adjusted by the user. Upon switching to M T mode, the speed automatically resets to speed 1. No Symbol Symbol Name Meaning Sleep Mode Control Panel lights will dim, the air quality indicator will turn off and the button beep sound will be silenced. Speed and timer are adjustable in sleep mode. Button luminance will return to normal upon exiting SLEEP mode. When the purifier is entering sleep mode, an eight hour timer will automatically begin. The timer can be turned off manually. Turbo Mode The purifier operates at maximum speed. Exit Turbo Mode by adjusting speed manually or switching to another mode. Power Press to turn the purifier ON or OFF. Getting Started Setting up the TRIO Plus Before using the appliance, remove all the packaging materials covering the filters and padding behind the UVC lamps and place the filters back into the appliance as described in the following steps: Note Please ensure that the correct filter installation sequence is followed. Otherwise, there may be damage to the product and the filtration efficacy of the unit may not be as effective as advertised. Step 1: With both hands on the upper side of the appliance, first pull the front case in the direction 1, then lift the front case in direction 2. Step 2: Press down on Pre-filter screen tabs and pull outwards. Remove packaged pre-filter from pre-filter screen frame and then remove filter from package. Step 3: Remove each filter from appliance and remove from packaging. Step 4: Remove the padding from behind the UVC lamps. PRO-Cell Catalyst Step 5: Remove all four ties from the ends of the UVC lamps. Step 6: Place unpackaged PRO-Cell Catalyst in the innermost position closest to the UVC lamp with the tag pointing towards you, as shown. Activated carbon filter HEPA Filter Step 7: Next, place the activated carbon filter as shown in the figure. Grasp the activated carbon filter in the direction of the arrow and place the activated carbon filter back into the appliance with the tag pointing towards you. Step 8: Place the HEPA filter as shown in the figure. Grasp the HEPA filter, as shown and place the HEPA filter back into the appliance with the tag pointing towards you. Pre-filter Step 9: Slide the pre-filter into the pre-filter frame from the bottom. Then place the bottom of the pre-filter frame into the slots on the bottom of the appliance and press the top towards the appliance. Step 10: Place front cover on the unit once all the filters have been installed. Slide the front cover slots on the base into the slots on the appliance (direction 2) and then push the top towards the unit until the cover clicks closed. MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS To increase the life of the air purifier, perform regular maintenance and care. Before performing maintenance, be sure to shut down the air purifier and unplug the power plug from the power source. Maintenance Period 1-3 Months Every 6 months of operation Every 12 months of operation Replacement Parts Remove front panel and clean pre-filter screen Replace filter Kit: Pre-filter, HEPA, and Carbon Filter (Not the pre-filter framed screen) Filter Kit # 602604600 (kit contains all required filters for replacement) Replace 2 UVC Lamps (2 lamps per kit)UVC lamp kit#: 602604500 HEPA filters and activated carbon filters are best replaced every 3 to 6 months, depending on the use situation. High-efficiency HEPA filters, activated carbon filters, photocatalyst filters, and pre-filters cannot be washed. Filter Indicator Timing The TRIO Plus calculates the recommended replacement of the filter based on operation time and fan speed. If the unit is run at higher speeds, the filters will likely capture more particles, and require replacement earlier than if the purifier was run at low speeds, filtering less air. It is recommended that the filter kit (Pre-filter, HEPA filter, and Carbon filter) be replaced every 6 months of operation Cleaning of the Appliance Clean the air purifier once a month. If the operating environment is poor, increase the cleaning frequency. Before cleaning, turn off the appliance and unplug from the power source When Cleaning or Servicing this appliance use OSHA approved safety glasses, gloves and mask. Clean it with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use alcohol, gasoline, benzene or other chemical solvents for cleaning. Clean Pre-Filter It is recommended that the pre-filter screen be cleaned using a dust collector, as shown, approximately every 1 to 3-months. This will extend the life of the HEPA filter and ensure the unit is running optimally. Filter Replacement Steps Before replacing the filter, turn off the appliance and unplug from the power source Step 1: With both hands on the upper side of the appliance, first pull the front cover in the direction of 1, then lift the front cover in the direction of 2. Step 2: Press the clasps of the pre-filter frame down, releasing the frame, then pull the pre-filter towards you. Pull the pre-filter down and out of the frame. Carefully place the used pre-filter into disposable bag. Save the Pre-filter screen frame. Step 3: Pull the tag of the HEPA filter to remove the filter from the air purifier. Carefully place used filter into disposable bag. Step 4: Pull the tag of the carbon filter to remove the filter from the appliance and cafefully place carbon filter into disposabl bag. Keep the PRO-Cell Catalyst in the air purifier, unless replacing lamps. Step 5: Remove the new Carbon Filter from its packaging and place the new filter in the direction of the arrow with the tag pointing towards you, in front of the PRO-Cell. Step 6: Remove the packaging on the new HEPA filter and place in the direction of the arrow with the tag pointing towards you, in front of the Carbon Filter. Step 7: Insert new pre-filter into pre-filter frame. Place the bottom of the pre-filter frame into the slots on the bottom of the appliance and press the top towards the appliance until the clasps click closed. Step 8: Place the front panel's hooks into the air purifier slots at the bottom then press the top towards the air purifier. REPLACEMENT OF UVC LAMP WARNING Skin or eye damage may result from directly viewing the light produced by the lamp in this apparatus. Always shutdown and disconnect the power before replacing or servicing. Replace lamps with Field Controls Trio Plus UV lamp replacement kit Part Number # 602604500. Replacement steps: 1. Turn the appliance off and unplug from power outlet. 2. Use OSHA approved safety glasses, gloves and mask when removing all the filters after opening front cover panel. 3. Remove the UVC lamps by rotating them 90 degrees. 4. Install new UVC lamps by inserting and rotating 90 degrees to lock in place. 5. Replace filters back into the air purifier. 6. Close front cover panel to complete installation. 7. Refer to local regulations when disposing of UV-C lamps, visit Earth911.com and EPA website to determine your local regulations Step 1: With both hands on the upper side of the appliance, first pull the front cover in the direction of 1, then lift the front cover in the direction of 2. Step 2: Press the clasps of the pre-filter frame down, releasing the frame, then pull the pre-filter towards you. Step 3: Remove each filter from appliance. Step 4: Rotate lamps until lamp pins align with slots and pull outwards. Step 5: Remove both lamps from unit Step 6: Insert and rotate new lamps 90 degrees to lock into place. Step 7: Install filters into unit starting with PRO-Cell, followed by carbon, then HEPA filter. Step 8: Place the bottom of the pre-filter frame into the slots on the bottom of the appliance and press the top towards the appliance until the clasps click closed. Step 9: Place the front panel's hooks into the air purifier slots at the bottom then press the top towards the air purifier. COMMON PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS Problem Possible Causes Remedial Action The appliance does not turn on If the power light is off, the unit is: 1.Not plugged in, or 2.The filters or front panel is not installed correctly. Confirm the unit is plugged in. Confirm all filters and front panel are correctly installed. Product works abnormally There is a problem with the power connection; The filter cover is not placed properly. Please check whether the plug is inserted into the socket and check On/Off button status; Re-install the filters. Fresh air cannot be delivered from the air outlet smoothly The plastic package of the new filter is not removed; The air outlet of purified is blocked by foreign matter. Remove any packaging from the filter. Problem Possible Causes Remedial Action Poor odor removal The ambient air quality of the room is poor. Inlet and or outlet restricted. The filters need to be replaced. Packaging, padding behind the lamp, or lamp ties have not been removed. The room exceeds the effective area of the product. Open the window to improve ventilation. Replace the activated carbon filter. Remove the padding behind the UVC lamps. The appliance generates abnormal sound while running The air inlet or air outlet is blocked by foreign matter; A foreign object has fallen into the air tube of the appliance. Unplug and remove the object blocking the air flow; Remove any foreign objects in the appliance. The unit is always detecting high levels of particles The sensor cover is dusty; The unit operated in a dusty environment. Clean the sensor cover; Sensor may require opening and sensor to be carefully cleaned with a damp Q-Tip Adjust the air purifier operating speed to high speed. When the UVC Lamp is turned on, there is a dull sound and low airflow Is the filter packaging removed? Are there foreign objects blocking the air outlet or air inlet? Remove the filter package and reinstall it according to the Instructions; Turn off the appliance and remove the clogged foreign objects. Problem Possible Causes Remedial Action Outlet Smell Time to replace the filters. The lamp padding and tie have not been removed. The filter has absorbed too much odor or smoke. The odor gradually disappears after running the appliance for a period. Clean or replace the filters. Remove the padding behind the lamp and ties at end so lamp.
