Founded in 1974, Krix is a major installation consultant and supplier of purpose-built loudspeaker solutions for cinemas globally. During the 1980s and 1990s, founder Scott Krix and his team were heavily involved in designing, specifying, and installing speaker systems in cinema complexes throughout Australia. A desire to improve performance combined with hands-on experience enabled Krix to quickly gain a reputation for great sound, service, and support. The company soon expanded to meet the demand for innovative, high-performance speakers in the cinema industry worldwide.
At Krix, our solid background in cinema installation has given us a deep understanding of what it takes to specify, install, and optimize cinema systems for years of hassle-free, class-leading audio performance. Our in-house manufacturing facility and R&D team have a strong focus on quality and rigorous production standards. Every speaker that leaves the factory is fully tested in an advanced acoustic measurement chamber to ensure low distortion, smooth frequency response, and constant impedance characteristics. Tight production tolerances are upheld to ensure best-in-class product quality.
Our in-house design and manufacturing team also gives Krix the unique ability to custom tailor products to order. With fast turnarounds, our staff are able to make rapid changes to suit a client's particular needs and respond to new requirements in the ever-evolving cinema industry.

Krix horn technology
Krix constant directivity horns are 'true' horns, with precise pattern control, higher efficiency, lower distortion over a wider frequency range due to the use of patented proprietary horn technologies. Over the past 20 years, Krix has developed a range of horns with unrivalled audio performance. Finite Element Analysis techniques have been employed to optimize horns and drive units with exemplary characteristics, making every seat in the house a good seat.

Low frequency drivers
Bass and subwoofer drivers have been engineered to offer superb low-frequency performance, high efficiency, high power handling, and low power compression, capable of extreme sound pressure levels. Seamlessly coupled with the dispersion pattern of the horns, the acoustic energy is focused on the audience and away from the walls.
Cabinet construction
Built from high-grade MDF with a black vinyl veneer, the cabinet is braced with Krix proprietary "X bracing". This technique braces all the panels of the box in an asymmetrical way and also provides appropriate baffling to virtually eliminate standing waves in the enclosure and reduce panel vibrations.
