Care & Maintenance Guide
Ceramic Kitchen Sink
Eridanus kitchen sinks are crafted from handcrafted ceramic and undergo strict quality inspection. Their non-porous construction makes them easy to clean, but they require proper care for long-term use.
Cleaning
To maintain the sink's appearance, clean after every use with a soft cloth and, if necessary, a non-abrasive cleanser. A simple solution of warm water or a mild liquid non-antibacterial detergent is effective. Rinse thoroughly and wipe dry after each cleaning to prevent water spots.
Maintenance
Avoid storing open containers of household cleaners and chemicals containing chloride (such as bleach, acid, drain cleaners, or toilet bowl cleaner) beneath the sink, as vapor emissions can cause corrosion to metal components like faucet supply lines. The glossy surface is susceptible to damage from sharp or metallic objects, particularly metal cutlery. Use protective plastic bowls, wire grid cutlery holders, and drainers with non-abrasive bases to prevent scratches. Never use abrasive cleansers or applicators containing sand or silica, as they can scratch the surface.
It is recommended to use a grid or rack to protect the sink's surface. All Eridanus Kitchen Sinks come with a compatible grid.

Preparation Steps
Prepare the Base Cabinet
Eridanus farmhouse sinks may require custom cabinetry. Build a plywood platform on a support frame inside the sink base cabinet. This platform must support the sink's weight and any attachments like garbage disposals. Ensure the top of the sink is flush against the bottom of the countertop and allow clearance for water supply lines and drains/garbage disposal.
Template and Cutout
No template is provided due to dimensional variations. Make the countertop cutout according to the installation option. Eridanus recommends a 1/4" reveal on 3 sides for undermount installations. Use the actual sink as a template guide. Center the sink, allow for faucets and backsplashes, and outline the sink for the cutout, including any desired reveal, before cutting.
Set the Sink
Test fit the sink in the prepared opening. The entire weight should be supported by the frame. Verify the sink is level with the cabinet top, using shims if necessary. Set the sink into the cabinet or countertop cutout. Apply sealant as a gasket between the sink and cabinet if needed. Clean the bottom of the countertop and the sink's top flange. Remove excess sealant with a recommended cleaner.
