Test Methodology

All measurements contained in this report were conducted with ANSI C63.10-2013, American National Standard of Procedures for Compliance Testing of Unlicensed Wireless Devices. Radiated testing was performed at an antenna-to-EUT distance of 3 meters. All radiated and conducted emissions measurements were performed at Shenzhen LCS Compliance Testing Laboratory Ltd.

EUT Configuration

The EUT was configured for testing in a continuous transmit mode to maximize its emission characteristics.

EUT Exercise

The EUT was operated in engineering mode to fix the TX frequency. Test Procedure 789033 D02 and KDB 662911 D01 were used for this FCC 15.407 UII device. Compliance with Sections 15.203, 15.205, 15.207, 15.209, and 15.407 of FCC Rules Part 15 Subpart E was ensured.

General Test Procedures

Conducted Emissions

The EUT was placed on a turntable 0.8 m above the ground plane. Emissions were measured in the frequency range between 0.15 MHz and 30MHz using Quasi-peak and average detector modes.

Radiated Emissions

The EUT was placed on a turntable 0.8 m above ground plane (below 1GHz) and 1.5 m above ground plane (above 1GHz). The turntable rotated 360 degrees to determine the maximum emission level. The EUT was positioned 3m away from the receiving antenna, which varied from 1m to 4m. Antenna polarization was tested both horizontally and vertically to find maximum emissions. Exploratory measurements were made according to Section 6.3 of ANSI C63.10-2013.

Test Sample

Two samples were provided: Sample 1 (Engineer sample – continuous transmit) and Sample 2 (Normal sample – intermittent transmit).

System Test Configuration

The system was configured for testing in a continuous transmit condition. The EUT's test channels were changed by software provided by the application.

Equipment Modifications

No modifications were made to the EUT by Shenzhen LCS Compliance Testing Laboratory Ltd.

Power Line Conducted Emissions

Standard Applicable: FCC §15.207 (a)

Limits for frequency range 0.15 MHz to 30 MHz:

Frequency Range (MHz) Quasi-peak (dBμV) Average (dBμV)
0.15 to 0.5066 to 56*56 to 46*
0.50 to 55646
5 to 306050

* Decreasing linearly with the logarithm of the frequency.

Disturbance Calculation

The AC mains conducted disturbance is calculated by adding the 10dB Pulse Limiter and Cable Factor and Duty Cycle Correction Factor (if any) from the measured reading. The basic equation is:

CD (dBuV) = RA (dBuV) + PL (dB) + CL (dB)

Where CD = Conducted Disturbance, RA = Reading Amplitude, PL = 10 dB Pulse Limiter Factor, CL = Cable Attenuation Factor (Cable Loss).
