- Do not use a tool if the switch does not turn it on or off.
- Disconnect battery pack before making adjustments, changing accessories, or storing the tool.

For Hedge Trimmers
DANGER: If the hedge trimmer blade jams or gets caught on an electrical cord or wires, DO NOT TOUCH THE BLADE! IT CAN BE ELECTRICALLY LIVE AND CAUSE SERIOUS OR FATAL INJURY! Release or drop the trimmer safely. If possible, disconnect the battery. If not, call an electrician. Keep hands away from the blade.
WARNING: Use both hands when operating. Keep both hands on the handles to prevent your hand from touching the blade.
- Keep all body parts away from the cutter blade. Do not remove cut material or hold material to be cut when blades are moving. Ensure the switch is off when clearing jammed material.
- Carry the hedge trimmer by the handle with the cutter blade stopped. Always fit the cutting device cover when transporting or storing.
- Hold the power tool by insulated gripping surfaces only.
- DO NOT operate when tired or visibility is limited. Do not use at night or in reduced light.
- Keep cable away from cutting area.
- DO NOT use if the handle guard is damaged.
DANGER: To avoid serious injury, risk of fire, explosion and danger of electric shock or electrocution:
- DO NOT probe the charger with conductive materials.
- If the battery pack case is cracked or damaged, DO NOT insert into the charger or tool. Replace the battery pack.
- DO NOT charge battery packs with any other type of charger.
- DO NOT allow liquid inside the charger.
- DO NOT try to use the charger for any other purpose than presented in this manual.
WARNING: If battery fluid gets in eyes, flush with clean water for at least 15 minutes and get medical attention. Do not charge in rain or wet conditions. Do not immerse tool, battery pack, or charger in water.
- Do not allow battery pack or charger to overheat. Allow them to cool down. Recharge only at room temperature.
- Do not cover charger ventilation slots. Do not set charger on soft surface. Keep ventilation slots clear.
- Do not allow small metal items into the charger cavity.
- Unplug charger before cleaning and when no battery pack is present.
- Do not leave battery charger or battery pack in the sun or warm environment for extended periods. Keep at normal room temperature.
- Do not try to connect two chargers together.
- Battery pack cells may develop a small leak. If leakage occurs on skin, wash with soap and water or neutralize with lemon juice, vinegar, or mild acid.
WARNING (PROPOSITION 65): Some dust from construction activities contains chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm (e.g., lead, crystalline silica, arsenic, chromium). Reduce exposure by working in a well-ventilated area and using approved safety equipment like dust masks.
Grounding
This battery charger is double insulated and has a two-prong polarized plug. If the plug does not fit, reverse it. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Ensure the outlet is properly grounded.

Know Your 80V Cordless Hedge Trimmer

Safe use requires understanding the product and manual. Familiarize yourself with operating features and safety rules.
Guard
The guard deflects chips and debris away from the operator's hands and eyes.
Trigger Switch
The lock-out button must be depressed before the trigger switch. Once the trigger switch is engaged, the lock-out button can be released. When the trigger switch is released, the lock-out button returns to the locking position.
Assembly Instruction
Battery Installation
IMPORTANT: The battery pack (2901302 Rated 80VDC,144WH) is not fully charged upon purchase. Charge the battery pack before first use. Read and follow Battery Charger section instructions.
To install the battery:
- Align the tongue (3) of the battery pack with the cavity in the handle housing.
- Grasp the rear handle (2) firmly.
- Push the battery pack into the handle until the latch locks into place.
NOTE: The battery pack fits snugly; a strong pull may be required for removal.
To remove the battery:
- Press and hold the latch button on the battery pack down (1).
- Grasp the rear handle (2) firmly. Pull the battery pack out of the handle.

IMPORTANT: DO NOT remove the blade assembly unless it needs sharpening, straightening, or replacing. Take it to a qualified person for repair.
WARNING: Follow these instructions to avoid injury and reduce risk of electric shock or fire:
- Replace damaged battery pack or charger cord immediately.
- Verify switch is OFF before inserting/removing battery pack.
- Verify battery pack is removed and switch is OFF before inspecting, adjusting, or performing maintenance.
- Read, understand, and follow the Charging Procedure section.
Unpacking
- This product requires no assembly.
- Carefully remove the product and accessories. Ensure all items in the packing list are included.
- Inspect for damage during shipping.
- Do not discard packing material until product is inspected and satisfactorily operated.

WARNING: To avoid personal injury:
- Handle the blade with care.
- Do not place fingers or hands between blade notches or where they could get pinched or cut.
- Never service the blade or trimmer unless the battery pack is removed.
- Do not use if the blade assembly is damaged or bent.
- Always keep both hands on the hedge trimmer handles.
Operating Instructions
On/Off Switches
The hedge trimmer has an electronic control panel with on/off button and anti-jam function, a lock-out button, and switch trigger.
- Push the power button (I/O) to turn the unit on.
- Slide the lock-out button (2) into the handle and hold.
- Squeeze the trigger switch (3). The hedge trimmer will turn ON.
- Release the lock-out button. The hedge trimmer stays on while the trigger switch is engaged.
- The hedge trimmer stops when you release the trigger handle.
IMPORTANT: If the hedge trimmer is accidentally dropped, it will turn OFF and the blade will coast to a stop. The trimmer will then be locked OFF.

Using the Rotating Rear Handle
- Place the hedge trimmer on a flat, even surface.
- Ensure the trigger is released.
- Pull the rotation lever and turn the rear handle. Release the lever and turn the handle 90 degrees until it clicks and locks.
- To return the handle to center, pull the rotation lever, turn the handle slightly, release the lever, and continue turning until it locks.

Anti-Jamming Function
If a branch is blocked in the blade, press the anti-jamming button on the control panel. The blade will reverse twice to release the branch.

Battery Charger

Charging Procedure
NOTE: Battery is not fully charged. Charge fully before first use for maximum run time. Lithium-ion batteries do not develop memory and can be charged anytime.
Low voltage charging: If battery stored with low charge for a long period, charger enters recovery mode (20 hrs for full charge) to enhance battery life. Subsequent charges will be standard.
A fully discharged battery pack requires time as stated in the battery manual. Plug charger into AC outlet.
- Insert the battery into the charger.
The Charger LED Lights indicate battery status:

False defect note: If status LED blinks RED upon insertion, remove battery for 1 minute, then reinsert. If it blinks GREEN, charging is normal. If still RED, remove battery and unplug charger for 1 minute. Replug and reinsert battery. If GREEN, charging is normal. If still RED, battery is defective.
Checking the Charge
If battery pack does not charge properly:
- Check outlet power. Ensure outlet is not turned off.
- Check charger contacts for debris or foreign material.
- If air temperature is above 104°F (40°C) or below 45°F (7°C), move charger and battery to room temperature location.
WARNING: If battery is inserted when warm or hot, the CHARGING LED may illuminate RED. Allow battery to cool inside charger for up to 30 minutes. Charging will start automatically once cooled.
Charger Mounting
- Charger can be wall-mounted using two #8 screws (not included).
- Locate placement for wall mounting.
- For wood studs, use 2 wood screws (not included).
- Drill two holes 4.5 inches apart, vertically aligned.
- For drywall, use wall anchors (not included) and screws.
Note: For long-term storage, remove battery from charger and unplug AC power plug.

Maintenance
WARNING: To avoid risk of fire, electric shock, or electrocution:
- Do not use a damp cloth or detergent on the battery or charger.
- Always remove the battery pack before cleaning, inspecting, or performing maintenance.
Cleaning
- Wipe the outside of the hedge trimmer with a dry, soft cloth. Do not hose down or wash with water.
- Scrape the guard to remove dried clippings and mud.
- Brush or blow dust, debris, and grass clippings out of air vents. Keep them free of obstruction.
Battery Pack
- Store the battery pack fully charged.
- Once charging light turns green, remove the battery from the charger.
- Do not store the battery pack on the tool.
- After charging, the battery pack may be stored in the charger if the charger is not plugged in.
Charger Maintenance
- Keep charger clean and clear of debris. Do not allow foreign material into recessed cavity or onto contacts. Wipe with a dry cloth. Do not use solvents or water. Do not place charger in wet conditions.
- Unplug charger when no battery pack is present.
- Fully charge batteries before storage.
- Store charger at normal room temperature. Do not store in excessive heat or direct sunlight. Recharge between 45°F and 104°F (7°C and 40°C). If battery pack is hot, allow it to cool before recharging.
Environmentally Safe Battery Disposal
The batteries contain Lithium-Ion, a toxic material.
WARNING: Toxic materials must be disposed of properly to prevent environmental contamination. Before disposing of damaged or worn-out Lithium-Ion battery packs, contact your local waste disposal agency or Environmental Protection Agency for instructions. Take batteries to a certified recycling/disposal center.
WARNING: If battery pack cracks or breaks, do not recharge or use. Dispose of it and replace with a new pack. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REPAIR!
- Cover battery terminals with heavy-duty adhesive tape.
- DO NOT attempt to remove or destroy battery pack components.
- DO NOT attempt to open the battery pack.
- If a leak develops, released electrolytes are corrosive and toxic. Avoid contact with eyes/skin, do not swallow.
- DO NOT place batteries in regular household trash.
- DO NOT incinerate.
- DO NOT place in landfills or municipal solid waste streams.
- Take to a certified recycling or disposal center.

Warranty
GREENWORKS™ warranties this product to the original purchaser with proof of purchase for 4 years (consumer) and 1 year (commercial) against defects in materials, parts, or workmanship. GREENWORKS™ will repair or replace defective parts free of charge during normal use. Warranty is valid for personal use only, not for hired or rented units, and requires maintenance per the owner's manual.

- Parts inoperative due to misuse, abuse, neglect, accident, improper maintenance, or alteration.
- Unit not operated/maintained per owner's manual.
- Normal wear, except as noted.
