User Manual
Product Overview
The projector features a lens for image projection and a focus wheel for adjusting sharpness.
Lens: The primary optical component for projecting the image.
Focus Wheel: Located on the back of the projector, used to fine-tune image clarity.
Remote Control Navigation
The remote control uses the following directional and function buttons:
- ⬆️ : NAVIGATION UP
- ⬇️ : NAVIGATION DOWN
- ⬅️ : NAVIGATION LEFT
- ➡️ : NAVIGATION RIGHT
- ☰ : MENU
- ↩️ : RETURN
- ⚪ : CONFIRM / OK
Device Ports and Buttons
The projector has the following external connections and controls:
- Earphone Jack (?): For audio output.
- ON/OFF Button (⏻): The main power button for the device.
Connectivity Ports
The rear panel of the projector includes several ports:
- USB (?): For connecting USB storage devices.
- IR: Infrared receiver for the remote control.
- DC: DC power input port.
- HDMI (?): For connecting external video sources.
Remote Control Functions
The remote control provides access to all projector functions:
- POWER (ON/OFF) (⏻): Turns the projector on or off.
- MUTE (?): Mutes or unmutes audio output.
- NAVIGATION: Use ⬅️, ⬆️, ⬇️, ➡️ for menu navigation.
- OK / CONFIRM / ENTER (⚪): Selects an option or confirms an action.
- VOLUME - (➖): Decreases volume.
- VOLUME + (➕): Increases volume.
- MENU (☰): Opens the main menu.
- HOME (?): Returns to the home screen.
- RETURN (↩️): Goes back to the previous screen or option.
Power Management
Power On: When the projector is off, press and hold the ON/OFF button (⏻) on the projector for 3 seconds to turn it on.
Power Off: When the projector is on, press and hold the ON/OFF button (⏻) on the projector for 3 seconds to turn it off.
Focus Adjustment
When the projector is on, adjust the image sharpness using the focus wheel located on the back of the projector.
Local Media Playback
Connect a USB storage device to the projector's USB port to play local media files:
- Read Local Picture (?️): Plug in a USB drive, navigate to the 'PICTURE' section on the homepage, and select picture files to view.
- Play Local Music (?): Plug in a USB drive, navigate to the 'MUSIC' section on the homepage, and select music files to play.
- Play Local Video (?): Plug in a USB drive, navigate to the 'VIDEO' section on the homepage, and select video files to play.
Screen Casting
Mirror your Android or iOS device screen to the projector.
Android Mobile Phone Screen Mirroring (Miracast)
To connect an Android mobile/pad device using WiFi-Display Technology:
- On your Android device, open the settings menu.
- Access your display settings or screen mirroring options.
- Select your Miracast receiver, which is identified as 'ROTA-18BD'. The projector will show 'Waiting for connection...'.
iOS Device Screen Mirroring
Mirror your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Ensure your iOS device is connected to the same network as your projector, or connect via the projector's AP.
Wireless Mirroring:
- On your iOS device, open the Control Center and tap screen mirroring.
- Look for devices that can be mirrored.
- Select 'ROTA-1880-cast' from the list.
iOS Cable Cast:
- Connect the lightning connector to your iPhone/iPad. Connect the other end to the projector.
- On your device, click "Trust" when the prompt appears.
- Enter your device password if required.
HDMI Input
Connect your projector to an external sourcing device using an HDMI cable. Select 'HDMI' on the projector's homepage to display the signal from the source device.
Projection Settings
Access the settings menu via 'Settings' -> 'Projection Settings' to configure various options:
- Volume (?): Adjust audio levels.
- Keystone (⏳): Adjust image geometry (Note: The manual text mentions time/date adjustment here, but the icon suggests keystone correction).
- Projection Mode (⇋): Select the projection orientation.
- Brightness (☀️): Adjust screen brightness.
- Language (?): Change the user interface language.
- Upgrade (⬆️): Update the projector's firmware.
Volume Settings
Navigate to 'Settings' -> 'Volume' to adjust the audio output to your preference. Use the '>' button to increase volume and the '<' button to decrease volume.
Keystone Settings (Time and Date)
Navigate to 'Settings' -> 'Keystone' to adjust the time and date. Use the '<' and '>' buttons to move the cursor and select the time/date components. Use the '^' and 'v' buttons to adjust the values. Press the RETURN button (↩️) to complete the time setting.
Projection Mode
Navigate to 'Settings' -> 'Projection Mode' to select the desired projection orientation. This projector supports four modes:
- Front Projection (F): Standard projection.
- Rear Projection (ㅋ): For projecting onto a translucent screen from behind.
- Ceiling Projection (E): For mounting the projector upside down on a ceiling.
- Rear Ceiling Projection (F): For mounting upside down and projecting onto a screen from behind.
Brightness Settings
Navigate to 'Settings' -> 'Brightness' to adjust the screen brightness. Use the '>' button to increase brightness and the '<' button to decrease brightness.
Language Settings
Navigate to 'Settings' -> 'Language' to select the user interface language. Use the '<' and '>' buttons to cycle through available languages (e.g., Chinese, English) and press the ENTER button (⚪) to confirm your selection.
Firmware Upgrade
To upgrade the projector's firmware:
- Place the firmware file onto a USB storage device.
- Plug the USB device into the projector's USB port.
- Navigate to 'Settings' -> 'Upgrade'.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the upgrade process. The projector may display 'Searching Firmware ...'.
Security Precautions
- Do not attempt to disassemble or modify the projector privately. Seek professional maintenance personnel for any repairs.
- Avoid using the projector on soft surfaces like blankets or pillows, as this can obstruct heat dissipation.
- Do not use the projector near water bodies, in high temperatures, or in dusty environments.
- Do not touch the AC power adapter or the projector with wet hands.
- Avoid looking directly into the projector lens while it is operating, as the strong light can cause eye discomfort or damage.
- Do not place heavy objects on the projector.
- Do not press on the lens or subject the projector's body to impacts or excessive shock.
- Always use the original power adapter provided for charging the projector.
- Power off the projector before moving it from one location to another.
