Quick Start Guide
Appearance
The Tapo Smart Wi-Fi Lamp Dimmer Kit includes the following components:
- LED Indicator: Shows the status of the device.
- Outlet(s): Connect lamps and control them simultaneously. The device has two outlets.
- Power Button:
- Touch once: Turn lamps on/off.
- Touch and hold for 5 seconds: Reset Wi-Fi while preserving other existing settings.
- Touch and hold for 10 seconds: Reset to factory default settings.
Getting Started

Download the Tapo App
Download the Tapo app from the [App Store] or [Google Play].

Set Up with the Tapo App
Open the Tapo app. Select "Plugs" and then your specific model. Follow the in-app instructions to complete the setup process.

Connect Lamps
Connect your lamps to the outlets on the dimmer kit. You can then control multiple lamps simultaneously.
Device Safety and Optimal Performance
For Device Safety:
- For lamps only. Do not exceed the maximum load: 150W LED, 300W Incandescent/Halogen.
- Do not connect products powered by separate power adapters, as this may damage the adapter and cause hazards.
- This device is not compatible with smart lights.
For Optimal Dimming Performance:
- Ensure connected lamps are of the same fixture type, support the same dimming type, and have the same load.
- Bulb dimming ranges can vary. Recalibrate the brightness in the Tapo app after changing a bulb.
Troubleshooting Dimming Issues: If lights are too bright at minimum dimming or flicker:
- Verify connected lights are the same brand and model.
- In the Tapo app, navigate to Device Settings to adjust the dimming range.
Supported Dimming Type:
TRIAC Dimming / Forward (Leading-edge) Phase Dimming.
*It is also suggested to contact your bulb's support to check the supported dimming type of the bulb.
How to Replace the Dimmer Button Battery
Option 1: By Hand
Option 2: With a Shim
(Optional) Attach the non-slip pad to the button for stability. The button can be magnetically attached to metallic surfaces.
Replace Battery (Type: CR2032)
*Ensure the battery is level with the positive (+) side facing up.

RISK OF EXPLOSION IF BATTERY IS REPLACED BY AN INCORRECT TYPE
Dispose of used batteries according to instructions.
- Do not ingest battery; risk of chemical burn.
- Keep new and used batteries away from children.
- This product contains a coin/button cell battery. Swallowing can cause severe internal burns within 2 hours, potentially leading to death.
- If the battery compartment does not close securely, discontinue use and keep away from children.
- Seek immediate medical attention if batteries are suspected to have been swallowed or placed inside any part of the body.
- Avoid replacing the battery with an incorrect type that could compromise safety features.
- Do not dispose of batteries in fire or hot ovens, or crush/cut them, as this may cause an explosion.
- Remove the battery from the device before scrapping.
- Dispose of batteries safely. Avoid extremely high temperatures or very low air pressure, which can cause explosions or leaks.
- If the battery leaks, stop using the dimmer button. Avoid contact with skin or eyes. If contact occurs, wash the affected area with plenty of water and seek medical advice.
- Keep the device away from water, fire, humidity, and hot environments.
- Do not attempt to disassemble, repair, or modify the device. For service, contact TP-Link.
- Do not use the device in areas where wireless devices are prohibited.
- Do not plug devices in a row; do not stack devices of the same or different types during normal use.
- Semiconductor switch: The lamp is only fully powered off when unplugged from this product's socket.
