  • Google First Time Install on Translite Global's TL-4KBR Android Box
  • How to open the defined TV App using the ? Rocket shortcut key

Boot Process

The setup process begins with the boot sequence of the Android Box.

Booting of Android Box

The device powers on and displays the Android TV logo.

Pairing of Remote Control Unit

To pair the remote control:

  1. Long press a button on the remote until the LED indicator starts blinking.
  2. Ensure the remote is within 20cm of the device.
  3. The device will search for and connect to the remote.

The process progresses through Searching, Connecting, and finally indicates Success.

Initial Setup Steps

Follow these steps for the initial configuration of your device.

Select Your Language

Welcome screen prompts you to select your preferred language. Options include English (United States), Afrikaans, Azərbaycan, Català, Čeština, and Dansk.

Connect via Wi-Fi / Ethernet

You can connect your device to the internet using either Wi-Fi or an Ethernet cable.

Select Wi-Fi Network

Choose your Wi-Fi network from the list of available networks, such as TRANSLITE GLOBAL, TRANSLITE AIRTEL, Airtel-5G, or Airtel 2.4G.

Enter Wi-Fi Password

Enter the password for your selected Wi-Fi network.

Successful Internet Connection

Confirmation that the device is successfully connected to the internet.

Google Sign-in

Sign in to your Google Account to access the full features of your Android TV Box.

Sign-in to your Google Account

The initial Google sign-in screen encourages users to sign in to access apps, recommendations, and more.

Enter email-id or phone

Enter your Google account email address or phone number.

Enter the password to login

Enter your Google account password using the on-screen keyboard.

Google Preferences

Configure your Google preferences for services and privacy.

Terms of Service

By continuing, you agree to the Google Terms of Service, the Google Privacy Policy, and the Google Play Terms of Service. You must accept these terms to proceed.

Google Services

Configure Google services such as location settings and options to help improve Android. You can select or deselect services and must click 'Accept' to confirm your choices.

Google Assistant

Enable Google Assistant for better voice control of your TV. Click 'Continue' to proceed.

Get the most out of your Google Assistant

Choose whether to receive emails about the latest features and updates for your Google Assistant.

Options: Yes, No.

Get personal results

Allow your Google Assistant to provide personalized results on this device, such as photos and recommendations. Note that anyone using the device can access these results.

Options: Allow, No thanks.

Search across all your TV apps

Allow Google to share your requests with your TV's apps to enable content search across all applications. This setting can be turned off at any time in your TV settings.

Options: Allow, No thanks.

Select a personalized name for the Android Box

Give your device a name (e.g., 'Box R 4K', 'Living Room TV') to help identify it when casting or connecting from other devices.

Available options: Box R 4K, Android TV, Living Room TV, Family Room TV, Bedroom TV, Enter custom name...

Install additional apps based on suggestions

Install recommended apps from the Google Play Store. You can install more apps later.

Options include installing all suggested apps or selecting specific ones like YouTube.

Your Box R 4K is powered by androidtv. Let's explore the key features:

  • Google Play: Access a vast library of apps, games, and entertainment.
  • Google Assistant: Use voice commands for search and control.
  • Chromecast Built-in: Cast content from your mobile devices to your TV.

Get apps from Google Play

The Google Play Store offers a wide selection of apps for watching shows, streaming live sports, playing games, and more.

Talk to the Google Assistant

After setup, press the microphone button ? on your remote to quickly find content, check scores, or control your TV.

Cast to your TV

With Chromecast built-in, you can easily cast photos, videos, and music from your phone directly to your TV.

Low Power Mode

Manage power consumption by turning the low power sleep mode on or off.

When enabled, only essential services (like BLE) remain active, shutting down others to conserve power.

RCU Setup (Remote Control Unit Setup)

Configure your remote control for seamless operation.

Control volume and power with your remote

You can set up your remote to control power and volume. If you wish to use phone, voice commands, or compatible displays for control, or to change remote button setup, you can open settings later.

Options: Set up remote, Not now.

Set up volume controls

Choose what you'll use to play sound: TV, Soundbar, or AV Receiver.

What's the brand of your TV?

Select your TV brand from the list to ensure proper remote compatibility. Popular brands include Samsung, LG, Sony, Panasonic, Sharp, Hisense, and Philips.

Test volume buttons

Point the remote at your TV and toggle the volume up and down. Confirm if the volume buttons work.

Options: Yes, No.

Test audio output

You will hear music next. If you cannot hear it, ensure the volume is turned up.

Button: Next.

Set up the power button

Follow these instructions to set up the power button:

  1. Press the [Power Button] once. The TV should turn off.
  2. Wait at least 8 seconds without pressing any buttons.
  3. Press the [Power Button] again. The TV should turn on.

Confirm if the power button worked correctly.

Options: Yes, No.

Remote setup complete

Your remote is now set up. You can access advanced settings for phone control, voice commands, or button customization later.

Home Screen

Navigate your TL-4KBR Android TV 4K Box.

The home screen provides access to Search, Home, Discover, and Apps. The current time is displayed as 3:32.

Content examples include new series like 'Secret Invasion' from Disney+.

Personalization has been paused: Update your account settings to resume personalized recommendations in Discover.

Favorite Apps

Quickly access your favorite applications. Default apps may include Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube, Google Play Movies & TV, YouTube Music, Google Play Store, and StbEMU. You can add more apps using the [+] button.

Play Next

Movies and TV shows will automatically appear here, allowing you to easily resume watching. You can directly add programs.

Enjoy streaming movies, shows, and live TV content from your favorite apps in 4K ULTRA HD.

Available apps and services include Google Play, Disney+, NETFLIX, prime video, YouTube TV, Ok Google, tv+, androidtv, HBomax, Spotify, and many more.

TL-4KBR RCU (Remote Control Unit) Overview
