Safety Warnings
⚠️ Important Instructions
The exclamation mark within the triangle is a warning sign alerting the user to important instructions accompanying the product. These must be followed to prevent damage or injury.
⚡ Dangerous Voltage
The lightning flash with arrowhead symbol within the triangle alerts the user to "dangerous voltage" inside the unit. To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not remove the cover. No user-serviceable parts are inside. Refer all servicing to qualified personnel.
? Laser Product Warning
This unit employs a laser. Invisible laser radiation may be present when the unit is opened or interlocks are defeated. Avoid direct exposure to the laser beam. Only qualified service personnel should attempt to service this device due to the risk of eye injury.
Electrical Safety
This unit operates on 230V ~ 50Hz. If the unit is not used for a long period, remove the plug from the AC mains. Do not expose the unit to moisture or rain. The power switch is on the secondary circuit and does not disconnect the entire unit from the mains when in the OFF position. Ensure all connections are properly made before operating the unit.
Ventilation and Placement
This unit should be positioned for proper ventilation. Avoid placing it close to curtains, on carpets, or in enclosed installations like bookcases. Do not expose the unit to direct sunlight or heat radiating sources.

Remote Control Preparation: Before first use, pull out the plastic battery isolation tab from the remote control's battery compartment. If the remote control's range becomes unstable or shorter, replace the battery with a new CR-2025. For optimal performance, point the remote directly at the unit's remote sensor (17). Avoid strong light sources interfering with the sensor. The effective range is approximately 5 meters (16 feet).
Connecting to Power
Ensure your local mains voltage matches the rating plate before connecting. This unit is designed for AC 230V, 50Hz only. Connecting to other power sources may cause damage.
Power Supply
Carefully remove the unit from its packaging. Connect the AC power cord (27) to a mains power inlet (230V AC ~ 50 Hz).
This unit is double insulated, indicated by the symbol [double-square symbol]. An earth connection is not required.
Headphones
Connect stereo headphones (not included) with a 3.5mm plug and an impedance of 8 ohms or greater to the Headphone Socket (13). The unit's speakers will automatically disconnect when headphones are plugged in.
MW/FM Tuner Operation
Tuning
- Press the POWER Button (22) to turn the unit on.
- Press the FUNCTION Button (24) to select the TUNER mode.
- Press the BAND Button (12) to select the desired frequency band (FM or MW).
- Tune to a radio station by pressing the TUNING (BACK) or (NEXT) Buttons (16/20 on unit, 17/18 on remote).
- To turn off the unit, press the POWER Button (22).
Manual/Automatic Tuning
For manual tuning, briefly press the TUNING buttons. For automatic tuning, press and hold the TUNING buttons for over two seconds; the unit will search for the first strong broadcast signal.
Memorizing Preset Stations
You can store up to 40 stations (30 FM, 10 MW):
- Tune to the desired station.
- Press the MEMORY Button (25). "MEMORY" will flash, and a preset number will appear.
- Use the PRESET UP/DOWN Buttons (21/18 on unit, 15/19 on remote) to select a preset number.
- Press the MEMORY Button again to store the station. Repeat for other stations.
Listening to a Preset Station
- Select the TUNER mode.
- Select the desired frequency band (FM/MW).
- Press the PRESET UP/DOWN Buttons to select the desired preset station number.
Antenna
For FM reception, use the built-in FM antenna wire (31) at the rear. Adjust its position for best reception. For MW reception, the built-in ferrite antenna picks up signals; orient the unit for best reception.
FM Stereo/Mono Reception
When an FM station broadcasts in stereo, "ST" will appear on the display. For weak or noisy stereo signals, select FM Mono using the MONO/ST/ESP button (4 on unit, 5 on remote) for clearer reception.
Compact Disc (CD) Operation
Handling Compact Discs
To remove a disc, press the center and lift by the edges. Fingerprints and dust should be wiped off the recorded surface with a soft, dry cloth using straight movements from the center outwards. Never use chemicals like sprays, benzine, or thinners, as they can damage the disc. Return discs to their cases after use to prevent scratches. Avoid direct sunlight, high humidity, and high temperatures, which can warp discs. Do not stick paper or write on the label side.
Loading and Unloading Compact Discs
- Press the POWER Button (22) to turn the unit on.
- Press the FUNCTION Button (24) to select CD / MP3 operation.
- Press the CD OPEN/CLOSE Button (14) to open the disc compartment.
- Place the disc carefully with the label side facing up. Smaller 3" discs fit in the center depression.
- Close the disc compartment. The disc will start turning automatically, and the total number of tracks will appear on the LCD.
Caution
Only insert compact discs into the compartment. Foreign objects can damage the mechanism. Keep the compartment closed to prevent dust. Never insert more than one disc at a time. If disc information does not appear, the disc may be loaded incorrectly (upside down).
Anti-Shock Function (ESP)
The ESP function provides uninterrupted playback during shocks or vibrations. It is activated automatically for CD and MP3/WMA playback. For CD playback, it can be disabled by pressing the "ESP" button (4 on unit, 5 on remote). For MP3 discs, ESP is always active and cannot be disabled.
Listening to Compact Disc and MP3/WMA Discs
Select the CD / MP3 operation using the FUNCTION button (24). The unit can read CD, CD-R, CD-RW. Do not attempt to play CDI, CDV, DVD, or computer CDs.
For MP3 discs, the unit supports 8cm discs, Multi Section discs, playback transfer rates from 56-256 kbps, up to 640 files and 255 folders, and "Support Version 1.1" in "ID3" mode.
CD Playback
- Select CD operation. The CD indicator, track count, and playing time will appear. The ESP indicator will also be shown.
- Press PLAY/PAUSE to start playback. Track number and elapsed time will display.
- Press PLAY/PAUSE again to pause; elapsed time will flash.
- Press PLAY/PAUSE again to resume.
- Press STOP to stop playback.
Selecting a Different Track during CD Playback
Use the TUNING (BACK)/(NEXT) buttons to select a track. Press PLAY/PAUSE to start playback of the selected track.
MP3/WMA Playback
- Select (CD) MP3 mode. Total tracks, albums, and folders will appear. The ESP indicator will also be shown.
- Press PLAY/PAUSE to start playback from the first track of the first album. Album, track, and elapsed time will display.
- Press PLAY/PAUSE again to pause; elapsed time will flash.
- Press PLAY/PAUSE to resume.
- Press STOP to stop playback.
Searching Through MP3 Tracks/Files
In stop mode, press the MO/ST/ESP button once to search for tracks/files starting with "A". Use TUNING (BACK)/(NEXT) buttons to scroll through letters and numbers to find a specific track/file. Press PLAY/PAUSE to play the selected track/file.
Searching Through MP3 Albums/Folders
Press the MO/ST/ESP button twice to display the first album/folder name and number. Use TUNING (BACK)/(NEXT) buttons to scroll through albums/folders to find a specific one. Press PLAY/PAUSE to play the first track of the selected album/folder. If no name/content is found, "NONE" will appear.
Single Session MP3 CD Explanation
When burning an MP3 CD in a single session, files are organized into folders. The arrow pathway in the example diagram shows the playback sequence of MP3 directories and files. "Skipped" indicates directories with non-audio files (e.g., JPG, WAV) which cannot be played. Note that reading problems may occur depending on the CD burner, disc brand, burning speed, and MP3 compression level.
Advanced Functions
Skip / Search Function
In CD/MP3 mode, press and hold TUNING (BACK)/(NEXT) buttons to skip backward or forward through the track time. Press PLAY/PAUSE to cancel. Holding for longer durations skips faster.
Repeat Play
For CD/MP3: Press REPEAT once to repeat the current track ("REPEAT" displayed). Press REPEAT twice to repeat the entire disc ("REPEAT ALL" displayed). Press REPEAT three times for MP3 albums ("REPEAT ALBUM" displayed). Press STOP or REPEAT to cancel.
Random Play
In STOP mode, press RANDOM. The "RANDOM" indicator lights up. Press PLAY/PAUSE to start random playback. Press STOP or RANDOM to cancel.
Stopping Play
Press the STOP button. The disc and track count will display. Open the CD door to remove the CD.
Intro Play
In STOP mode, press INTRO on the remote. The first 10 seconds of each track will play ("INTRO" displayed). Press INTRO again to return to normal playback.
Programmed CD/MP3-Disc Play
Programming is not possible during playback. First, press STOP.
- Press the MEMORY button.
- Use TUNING (BACK)/(NEXT) buttons to select a track/album to store in a memory location (e.g., P-01).
- Press MEMORY to store.
- Repeat for other tracks/albums (up to 64).
To add a track, press MEMORY until the last programmed track is shown, then press MEMORY again. Use TUNING buttons to select the new track and press MEMORY to add it.
Listening to Programmed Tracks: Press Play Pause. Playback starts from the first programmed track.
To Clear Program Memory: If the disc is playing, press STOP. Then press FUNCTION to select another source.
USB and Memory Card Playback
USB Memory Stick Playback
Getting Started: Press FUNCTION (24) to select "CARD-USB" mode. Plug the USB memory stick into the USB port. Total tracks/albums will display.
Operation: Follow normal CD playback procedures. Notes: Use only for USB MP3 players/memory sticks. Do not disconnect the USB drive while music is playing, as this may cause malfunction.
MMC/SD Card Playback
Getting Started: This player supports MMC and SD cards. Press FUNCTION (24) to select "CARD-USB" mode. Push the memory card firmly into the slot.
Operation: Follow normal CD playback procedures. Notes: Stop playback before removing the card. Ensure correct orientation; do not force the card. If both USB and card are inserted, the card will play first.
Replacing the Memory Card
Push the card into the slot, then slowly release your finger. The lock releases, and the card ejects.
Special Functions
Mute Function
Press the Mute button (6 on unit, 4 on remote) to silence the sound. The volume indicator flashes. Press Mute or a volume button again to restore sound.
Auxiliary Input
Press FUNCTION (24) to select AUX mode. Connect external audio equipment (turntables, VCRs, etc.) using RCA cables to the Aux input jack (15).
Bass Boost
Press the Bass Boost button (10 on remote) for enhanced bass response.
Preset Equalizer
Adjust sound quality for different music types (PASS-normal, CLASSIC, ROCK, POP, JAZZ) by pressing the EQ button (11 on unit or remote).
Important Notes
The CD mechanism and circuitry may interfere with nearby radios/tuners; switch off the unit when operating other radio devices. This product uses a laser. Avoid direct exposure to laser beams. Using controls or procedures not listed in this manual may result in hazardous radiation exposure.
Compact Disc Compatibility
Only use compact discs marked with the [COMPACT disc DIGITAL AUDIO] logo.

Self-Made CD Playback
CD-R/CD-RW discs can be played back. However, due to variations in media quality and recording characteristics, some self-made CDs may not be read correctly. This does not indicate a malfunction of the playback unit.
