Installation Procedure
IMPORTANT: Remove contents from box. Verify all parts are present. Read instructions carefully before starting installation. Assistance is recommended.
- Start the installation under the passenger front side of the vehicle. Locate the front factory running board mounting location along the inner side of the body. [See Figure 1: Passenger side front mounting location.]
- Slide one (1) Plastic Retainer over each of the three (3) factory mounting studs in the body panel. [See Figures 2 & 3: Figure 2 shows an 8mm Plastic Retainer. Figure 3 shows the passenger side rear mounting location with Plastic Retainers on studs.] IMPORTANT: The Plastic Retainers are designed to prevent corrosion between the aluminum body panel and the steel mounting brackets. Do not install the Brackets without the Plastic Retainers.
- Select one (1) Mounting Bracket. Note: All four (4) Brackets are universal and will fit the left or right side. Attach the Mounting Bracket to the three (3) factory studs using three (3) 8mm Flat Washers and three (3) 8mm Nylon Lock Nuts. [See Figures 4 & 5: Figure 4 shows passenger side front bracket installation. Figure 5 shows typical bracket installation.] Leave brackets loose at this time.
- Repeat Steps 1-3 to install the remaining rear passenger side Bracket.
- Carefully unwrap and select the passenger side Running Board. Slide two (2) 6mm Double Bolt Plates into the bottom of the running board channel. [See Figure 6: 6mm Double Bolt Plate insertion into running board channel.] Slide the Double Bolt Plates forward or back to align with the two (2) previously installed Brackets.
- Hold the Running Board up to the vehicle at a slight angle and gently push it into position against the end of the Brackets. It may be necessary to loosen the Brackets to fit the Running Board between the Brackets and the body panel. Attach the Running Board to the Mounting Brackets using the included four (4) 6mm Flat Washers, four (4) 6mm Lock Washers, and four (4) 6mm Hex Nuts. [See Figure 7: Running board attached to brackets with 6mm hardware.] Do not tighten hardware at this time.
- Level and adjust the Running Board as desired, then tighten all hardware.
- Repeat Steps 1-7 for the driver side Running Board installation.
- Perform periodic inspections to ensure all hardware remains secure and tight.
