Introduction

Thank you for purchasing the VTech SuperSound Karaoke™. This portable Bluetooth® speaker and corded microphone brings the party wherever you go. The multicolored party light enhances the atmosphere, and sound controls allow for volume adjustment, echo, and voice-changing effects. It also includes built-in vocal exercises.

Product Ports (Rear View)

1. 6.35mm Mic 2 Jack: For connecting a second microphone.
2. 6.35mm Mic 1 Jack: For connecting the included microphone.
3. Line-in Jack: For connecting an external music player via a 3.5mm audio cable.
4. microSD Card Slot: For playing music from a microSD card.
5. Corded Microphone: Included microphone with a 6.5-foot cord.
6. AC Adapter Jack: For connecting the AC power adapter.

7. Master Volume Dial: Controls the overall volume of the karaoke machine.
8. Echo Dial: Adjusts the echo effect for vocals.
9. Power Button: Turns the unit On or Off.
10. Mic 1 Volume Dial: Adjusts the volume for the first microphone.
11. Mic 2 Volume Dial: Adjusts the volume for the second microphone.
12. Party Light On/Off Button: Controls the multicolored party light.
13. Line-in Button: Selects the line-in audio source.
14. microSD Button: Selects the microSD card audio source.
15. Radio Button: Selects FM radio mode.
16. Bluetooth® Button: Connects to Bluetooth® enabled devices.
17. Singing Effect Button: Applies special effects to the voice.
18. Voice Changer Button: Applies one of four voice-changing effects.
19. Activities Button: Accesses the built-in activities menu.
20. SFX Button: Plays random sound effects.
21. Mode Button: Toggles shuffle/repeat for microSD, or quits activities.
22. Back Button: Navigates back or changes radio stations.
23. Play/Pause/OK Button: Controls playback and confirms selections.
24. Next Button: Skips to the next track or changes radio stations.
25. Voice Magic Button: Reduces or removes the main vocal track from songs.

Note: Adapter, cable, music player, microSD card, and second microphone are not included.

Important Note: Please save this Instruction Manual as it contains important information. Before first use, it is recommended to ensure the main volume is set low.

Getting Started

Battery Removal and Installation

To install batteries:

Ensure the unit is turned Off.
Locate the battery cover on the back of the unit.
Remove old batteries by pulling up on one end of each.
Install 6 new AA (AM-3/LR6) batteries, following the diagram inside the battery box. For best performance, alkaline or fully charged Ni-MH rechargeable batteries are recommended.
Replace the battery cover.

Important Battery Information

Insert batteries with the correct polarity (+ and -).
Do not mix old and new batteries.
Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable batteries.
Only use batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended.
Do not short-circuit the supply terminals.
Remove batteries during long periods of non-use.
Remove exhausted batteries from the product.
Dispose of batteries safely; do not dispose of them in fire.

Rechargeable Batteries

Remove rechargeable batteries (if removable) before charging.
Rechargeable batteries should only be charged under adult supervision.
Do not charge non-rechargeable batteries.

Power Adapter Connection

To connect the AC adapter:

Ensure the unit is turned Off.
Locate the AC Adapter Jack on the back of the unit.
Connect an AC adapter (not included) to the AC Adapter Jack.
Plug the adapter into a power outlet.
Press the Power Button to turn the system On.

Note: If the unit will not be used for an extended period, unplug the adapter.

Safety Information

It is recommended to use a power supply (AC/DC adapter) with the following specifications: Power rating: 12V/2A DC output with a 3.5mm plug (positive center).

Never clean a plugged-in product with liquid.
Periodically examine the power supply for conditions that may result in fire, electric shock, or injury. If damage is found (e.g., to the cord, plug, housing), the power supply should be properly disposed of.

Product Features

1. Power Button

Press the Power Button to turn the unit On. Press it again to turn the unit Off.

2. Line-in Jack

Connect an external music player here using a 3.5mm jack audio cable (cable and music player not included).

3. microSD Card Slot

Insert a microSD card into this slot and push gently until you hear a click sound (microSD card not included).

4. AC Adapter

Connect the SuperSound Karaoke™ to an AC power adapter (adapter not included).

5. Mic 1 and Mic 2 Jack

Plug the Microphone into the jack to connect (second microphone not included).

6. Party Light On/Off Button

Press this button to switch the party light On and Off.

Buttons and Features

1. Volume Control

Master Volume Dial, Mic 1 Volume Dial, Mic 2 Volume Dial, Echo Dial: Turn clockwise to increase the volume, counter-clockwise to decrease.

2. Line-in Button

Press the Line-in Button to listen to music from your connected external music player (music player not included). Note: Playback controls (play/pause, back, next) are managed by the external music player when connected via Line-in. The Voice Magic feature is unavailable for Line-in.

3. microSD Button

Press the microSD Button to listen to music from the microSD card (MP3 file format). Press the Mode Button to shuffle or repeat the music (microSD card not included).

4. Radio Button

Press this button to listen to FM radio. Change the station by pressing the Back Button or Next Button. If the signal is weak, try another station or move the SuperSound Karaoke™ to a different area.

5. Bluetooth® Button

Press this button to hear music from a Bluetooth® connected device. Select "VTech SuperSound Karaoke" from your Bluetooth® device. You may need to input a PIN displayed on your SuperSound Karaoke™. Press the Mode Button, Back Button, or Next Button to turn the PIN off. If connection problems occur, reset the Bluetooth® settings on your device.

6. Singing Effect Button

Press the Singing Effect Button to apply special effects to your voice.

7. Voice Changer Button

Press the Voice Changer Button to apply one of four voice-changing effects to your voice.

8. Activities Button

Press the Activities Button to enter the Activities menu. Use the Left/Right Buttons to select an activity, then press the OK Button to confirm.

Activity 1: Singing Warm-Up

Listen to the built-in instructor's voice and repeat. Use the Back/Next Button to select a different scale. Press the Mode Button to quit the activity.

Activity 2: Sing As You Like

Select background music and sing along.

Activity 3: Singing Concert

Sing and hear an audience cheer you on.

9. SFX Button

Press the SFX Button to play random fun sound effects.

10. Mode Button

When playing music from a microSD card, press this button to toggle shuffle and repeat functions. Press this button during other activities to quit.

11. Back, Play/Pause/OK, and Next Buttons

Use these buttons to select and control songs and activities.

12. Voice Magic Button

Press the Voice Magic Button to reduce or remove the main vocal track from the song. Note: This feature is not available during Line-in mode and may not work with all songs, but works best for studio-recorded songs.

Care & Maintenance

Keep the unit clean by wiping it with a slightly damp cloth.
Keep the unit out of direct sunlight and away from direct heat sources.
Remove batteries if the unit will not be used for an extended period.
Do not drop the unit on hard surfaces or expose it to moisture or water.

Troubleshooting

Bluetooth® Pairing Problems

If you experience pairing issues with your Bluetooth® device:

On your Bluetooth® device, go to Bluetooth® settings. If "SuperSound Karaoke" is listed, select "forget" or "unpair" it.
Disable and re-enable Bluetooth® or restart your device.
Turn the unit Off and On, then repeat the pairing process.

Unit Malfunctions

If the unit stops working or malfunctions:

Turn the unit Off.
Interrupt the power supply by removing the batteries.
Let the unit stand for a few minutes, then replace the batteries.
Turn the unit back On.
If the unit still does not work, insert a new set of batteries.
