RSL Speedwoofer 10E Quick Start Guide
1. Hook up your Speedwoofer
RCA Connection (recommended): External wireless option available via RSL AT4 & AR4 (see those instructions for wireless setup).
Connect a mono RCA cable from your Audio Video Receiver's (AVR) Sub Out/LFE Out
to the Speedwoofer's LFE / LEFT Line Input
.
Note: When using a single mono RCA connection, it is considered an LFE connection where the low-pass filter is built-in to your AV receiver. The low-pass crossover knob on the RSL amplifier should be switched to Bypass
to avoid possible issues with cascading filters between your AVR and the Speedwoofer.

2. Position your Speedwoofer
The position of your Speedwoofer significantly impacts the bass you hear. Most rooms distribute bass unevenly, leading to too much bass in one spot and too little in another. Experimenting with placement is crucial for optimal performance.
General Rule: Corner placement generally increases overall bass output. Moving the subwoofer away from corners and walls may decrease output but can result in tighter bass.
Many modern AV receivers include room correction software and a microphone to help integrate the subwoofer with your speakers and room. Utilizing this feature is recommended.
If you have any questions, contact RSL Speakers.
3. Dial-in your Speedwoofer
Here are some basic settings to get you started:
- Volume Control: 60-80%
- Low-Pass Crossover:
Bypass
(for LFE/home theater) or 80Hz (for stereo) - Phase Control: 0°
- Auto Power: On
Further adjustments may be needed depending on your specific setup. If your equipment has an auto setup (room calibration) feature, it is recommended to run it after setting the basic controls.
