AlorAir PureAiro HEPA Max 970 Owner's Manual
Restoration & Moisture & Ventilation
Introduction
The PureAiro HEPA Max 970 is a convenient filtration system designed to clean the air. It utilizes an effective blend of airflow and advanced filtration to expel airborne particles such as mold spores, dust, pollen, and pet dander. This air scrubber is ideal for restoration jobs, including those involving water, sewage, and fire damage.
Identification

How It Works
When set to maximum airflow, the scrubber draws air through two types of filters:
- 1. Pre-Filter: The first phase of filtration captures initial dust and allergen particles.
- 2. HEPA/Activated Carbon Filter: The second phase captures smaller particles down to 0.3 microns. It contributes to controlling and preventing the growth of bacteria, germs, and mold, capturing 99.99% of dust and allergens.
- 3. UV-C Light: This technology works with the filters to enhance the elimination of airborne germs. Titanium Dioxide is activated by the UV-C light to decompose odor molecules caused by smoking, cooking, and pets.
Special Features
- Daisy-Chain Capability: (Note: Not available for 220/240 models) Using the auxiliary outlet on the control panel, up to 3 units can be linked together. Machines can also be daisy-chained when stacked vertically (limit of 2 units).
- Multi-Positional: The PureAiro HEPA Max 970 can be operated in the vertical position or stacked vertically (up to 2 units). For storage, machines can be stacked horizontally to save space.
Key Features
- Control Panel: Located on the side of the unit, featuring controls and outlets.
- Handle: Integrated for carrying the unit.
- Inlet: Ductable, 16 inches in diameter, for air intake.
- Outlet: Ductable, 8 inches in diameter, for air exhaust.
- Winding Clamp: Four total, likely for securing cords or ducting.
- Removable foam cap: Attached with a cap leash, located near the inlet.
- Retaining Clips: Four located on the base of the unit.
- The unit can be placed in a Vertical, upright position.
Instructions
Setup
- Place the PureAiro HEPA Max 970 in the upright, vertical position.
- Plug the machine into a standard 115-volt outlet. Note: Each unit requires 3 amps to operate.
- Power the unit on and adjust the speed using the variable speed control. The maximum speed is 750 CFM and the minimum speed is 350 CFM.
- The PureAiro HEPA Max 970 can be operated in the vertical or horizontal position, depending on the situation. Adjust the machine to the optimal position.
The Control Panel
The control panel includes the following components:
- Variable Speed Control: A knob used to adjust the machine's power. Turning clockwise increases speed from minimum to maximum. The minimum speed setting is located near the OFF button.
- Auxiliary Outlet: (Note: Not available for 220/240 models) Allows for daisy-chaining up to 3 PureAiro HEPA Max 970 units. Maximum amperage is 12A when units are off, and 9.0A when units are on. Other equipment can be plugged in if the total amperage does not exceed the limit.
- Circuit Breaker Switch: A 12A circuit breaker that protects the unit from overcurrent. If more than 12 amps pass through the circuit, the switch will cut off power.
- Timer: Used to time the running duration of the device. Start timing when the device is running and pause when it is stopped.
Changing the Filters
- Loosen the 4 locks that hold the filter board in place.
- Slide out the filter panel board.
- Remove the used filters and replace with new filters.
WARNING:
- Always wear approved protective gear when changing the filters.
- Filters should be changed after each remediation job.
- If the filter indicator light is on, always change the HEPA/Activated Carbon Filter.
Applications
- Water Damage: Place the PureAiro HEPA Max 970 in the center of the affected area. The air scrubber will draw in, filter, and then blow out cleaned air. For large areas or those divided by walls, multiple units may be needed.
- Odor Control: When used with the HEPA/Activated Carbon Filter, the unit is excellent for odor control. Place the carbon filter in the pre-filter slot to capture odor-causing gas molecules like VOCs, smoke, soot, and paint fumes.
- Other Uses: The PureAiro HEPA Max 970 is also useful for mold remediation, fire damage, dust control, and sewage remediation.
Safety Notes
WARNING!
- Breathing Hazard: When using the unit in a containment area, always turn off power to open combustion appliances (fireplaces, furnaces, water heaters, HVAC systems) to avoid the risk of backdrafting carbon monoxide fumes. If the Filter Change Light illuminates, immediately change the HEPA/Activated Carbon Filter.
- Tipping Hazard: Use caution when stacking units. Do not stack more than 2 units on top of each other. Falling equipment could cause bodily harm.
General Safety Precautions:
- Always unplug the unit prior to performing any maintenance.
- Check the power cord for damage (fraying, cuts, etc.) before use.
- Verify GFCI outlet functionality by powering on the machine and pressing the red GFCI test button. Press the 'reset' button to operate.
- To avoid electric shock, never use a water hose or pressure washer to clean electrical components.
- Check the pre-filter for clogs before operation. If airflow is restricted, change the filter.
- Ensure the unit is dry before installing clean filters.
- For remediation purposes, replace both filters simultaneously and clean the machine between jobs to prevent cross-contamination.
