Placement Recommendations

- The soundbar should be placed centrally in front of the TV, with at least 5 cm (2 inches) clearance from the TV screen and 10 cm (4 inches) from the wall behind it.
- The ideal viewing distance is between 2.5 to 3.0 meters (8.2 to 9.8 feet).
- The subwoofer should be placed away from the soundbar, typically in a corner or along a wall, with at least 1 meter (3 feet) clearance from the soundbar.
- Mounting hardware details are shown: screws for wall mounting (≤8 mm / 0.31") and anchors (4mm / 0.16").
Connections
Connect your soundbar to your TV for an enhanced audio experience.
HDMI ARC Connection

- Connect the HDMI ARC port on the soundbar to the HDMI ARC (or eARC) port on your TV using an HDMI cable.

Using HDMI ARC allows for a single-cable connection and audio return from your TV.
Optical Connection

- Connect the OPTICAL port on the soundbar to the OPTICAL OUT port on your TV using an optical cable.

The Optical connection is an alternative for audio transmission.
Powering On and Pairing

- Connect the AC power cords to the soundbar and the subwoofer, and then plug them into wall outlets.

The subwoofer and the soundbar will pair automatically when both are powered on. The remote control is shown with the power button (?) and pairing indicator.
Audio Settings and Modes
Pre-defined EQ Settings

- Use the remote control to select pre-defined Equalizer (EQ) settings for your audio playback.
- Buttons for NEWS, MUSIC, and MOVIE are highlighted, allowing users to switch between different sound modes.
Select the appropriate EQ setting (NEWS, MUSIC, MOVIE) via the remote control to optimize the sound for your content.
Voice Mode

Bluetooth Connectivity

- On the remote control, press and hold the BT button for 3 seconds (3S) to enter Bluetooth pairing mode.
- On your smartphone or device, go to Bluetooth settings and select 'JBL CINEMA SB270' from the list of available devices. The device should be within 10 meters (33 feet) of the soundbar.

Stream audio wirelessly from your Bluetooth-enabled devices. Press and hold the BT button on the remote for 3 seconds to initiate pairing. Connect to 'JBL CINEMA SB270' from your device's Bluetooth menu.
Software Updates

- Visit www.jbl.com to download software update files.
- Transfer the files to a USB drive.
- Connect the USB drive to the USB port on the soundbar.
- Press and hold the power button (?) on the soundbar for more than 10 seconds (>10S) to initiate the update.

Keep your soundbar up-to-date by downloading the latest software from www.jbl.com. Follow the instructions to prepare a USB drive and perform the update via the soundbar's USB port.
Note: USB playback is available in the US version only. For other versions, USB is for service and software updates only.
