INSTALLATION
Pre-step before installation
- Before using the unit, please read this guide carefully. This book contains important information regarding safe operation, installation, and maintenance.
- Please keep this guide book in an easily accessible place for future reference. Enclose this guide book if the unit is handed over to another person.
- If you do not understand the procedure for installing household stoves (ovens), you should contact the MODENA Service Center to perform the installation.
- The air in the room where gas appliances are used should have good ventilation so that airflow moves smoothly (there is circulation). The room will contain combustion gas rather than oxygen if the room has bad airflow circulation. This can cause the flame of the stove/burner to not work perfectly (flame may be yellow due to lack of oxygen). Therefore, the room for gas appliances should have good ventilation.
- Prepare an electrical outlet that is easily accessible for your oven's power cord.
- Open the box of the built-in oven. Then, take it out and place it on a flat surface.
- Keep all packaging materials out of reach of children, as they may cause choking or suffocation hazards.
- The unit must be installed in accordance with the instructions and by skilled and experienced personnel. Installation errors can be harmful to humans and animals or may damage property.
Installing the oven into kitchen set
- The oven can be installed on a kitchen table as long as the table can withstand heat, or installed within a cabinet.
- Use the appropriate kitchen set to ensure the unit works well. Frames or panels adjacent to the oven must be made of heat-resistant material.
- Cabinets with a lacquer-coated exterior must be assembled with adhesives that can withstand temperatures up to 100°C.
- Check if the size of the opening in the kitchen cabinet for the oven matches the dimensions shown in the figure below:
- BO 3435 Dimensions:
- A: 560mm
- B: 550mm
- C: 448mm
- Insert the oven into the kitchen set opening by installing screw type A into the four holes in the oven. Screws are typically found on the side of the oven frame. (Textual description of diagram: A diagram shows the oven from the front with screw holes labeled 'A' and a side view showing screw placement.)
- Connect the power cord plug to the wall outlet. The oven is now ready to use.
Electrical connection
The oven is equipped with a three-pole power cord designed to operate with alternating current at the voltage and frequency specified in the table of specifications.
Connect the power supply cord to the power source
First, use a standard plug in accordance with the load shown in the table of specifications. The unit must be directly connected to the electricity using an omnipolar switch with an opening contact of at least 3mm installed between the appliance and the electricity. The switch must be suitable for the load indicated on the label and must comply with electrical current regulations (the earthing wire must not be interrupted by the switch). The power supply cord should be positioned so it does not contact temperatures higher than 50°C at any point.
Make sure that the correct electrical connection has been made and is fully compliant with safety regulations. Before connecting the appliance to a power source, ensure that:
- The unit is earthed/grounded and a plug is used in accordance with the data label (see below).
- The electric socket can withstand the tool's maximum power, as indicated on the data label (see below).
- The electric socket is compatible with the appliance's plug. If the socket is incompatible with the plug, ask a technician to replace it. Do not use extension cords or multiple electric sockets.
- After mounting the unit, the power supply wiring and outlet should be easily accessible.
- The cable must not be bent or crushed.
- The cable must be checked regularly and replaced only by an official technician.
- The manufacturer disclaims any duty if these safety measures are ignored.
(Textual description of diagrams on page 10: Two diagrams labeled 'Pic. 1' and 'Pic. 2' illustrate ventilation requirements, showing a gap of 70mm at the rear of the cabinet for air circulation.)
HOW TO USE
Cooking without fan
Natural convection
- Preheat the oven for 10-15 minutes.
- Grease the meat with a little oil, place it on the drip-tray, and put everything quickly into the oven.
- During cooking, change the meat's position if possible, avoiding further opening of the door.
Grill
- Preheat the grill for about 5 minutes, until the heating element becomes red.
- Prepare the meat and place it on a tray to grill, then put it on the top rack of the oven.
- Place the drip tray on the bottom shelf, with approximately 0.5cm of water. This prevents oil droplets from cooking, drying out too quickly, and becoming difficult to clean.
- This function can also be used to grill food with grated extra-grater and to brown food after the cooking process.
Cooking with fan
Defrosting
- To defrost food, place it wrapped in its aluminum or polythene sheet protection on a dish.
- Place everything on the grid in the oven center.
- The oven door must be closed.
Fan oven
- It is not necessary to preheat the oven, except for very short cooking times or food with a considerable quantity of liquid (e.g., fruit tarts) to avoid condensation.
- In case of batch cooking, you can introduce food with approximately equal cooking temperatures (even if the length of time differs) on two or more shelves without mixing tastes and flavors.
- It is possible to put food into or take food out of the oven without heat losses caused by the door opening. Heat will be quickly recovered by means of the fan.
- Cooking temperatures are lower than those of a conventional oven (from 20°C to 30°C for pastries and from 30°C-40°C for meats), whereas cooking times are longer (50°C-10 minutes).
Grill with fan
- It does not require preheating.
- Cooking must be operated with the door closed. The distance between the grill and the food should be proportional to the desired results:
- Nearer for lightly browned meat on its surface.
- Further away for food perfectly baked inside.
- The drip-tray with a little water for collecting meat juices has to be placed on the first shelf underneath.
WARNING!
Marinated meat and boneless meat cook quicker than other sorts. Cooking progress can be checked by pressing the meat with a fork; if it does not yield, it is properly cooked. Before slicing the meat, wait at least 15 minutes to allow the juices to settle. Do not place pans directly on the oven base, as the heat from below cannot escape. This may cause breakage or cracking of the enameling.
Using turnspit
The turnspit (grill) can be used when the upper or bottom oven burner is turned on.
- Turn on the upper or bottom oven burner. To turn on, follow the instruction: "Using the bottom or upper oven burner". Then wait a few seconds for the heat to spread.
- Place the food/meat to be cooked onto the turnspit and install it between both forks. (Textual description of diagram: A diagram shows a chicken on a turnspit with forks and a plastic handle.)
- Place the tray on the bottom shelves with a distance of around 0.5cm to prevent oil dripping from the food.
- Insert the turnspit with the food into the oven by inserting the turnspit end into the special hole/socket located on the rear of the oven. (Textual description of diagram: A diagram shows the rear of the oven with a socket for the turnspit.)
WARNING!
After the turnspit is in the correct position, remove the plastic handle from the grill (see picture).
- Close the oven door slowly.
- When the meat is ready, turn off the turnspit, and then reattach the plastic handle to the turnspit before removing the turnspit from the special hole/socket.
MAINTENANCE
WARNING!
- Wait until the appliance has cooled down before attempting to clean it.
- Disconnect it from the power supply, either by pulling the plug out or switching off the power supply at the mains.
- Do not leave corrosive or acidic substances (lemon juice, vinegar, etc.) on enamelled, painted, or stainless-steel parts.
Cleaning the oven
- After finishing use, leave the oven door open for a few minutes so that the oven is no longer hot.
- The inside of the oven should ideally be cleaned after each use.
- Clean the oven while it is still warm (not hot), so that food spillages on the oven surface can be removed easily.
- Clean the rubber, stainless steel, or parts coated with enamel or chrome using a soft sponge and warm soapy water or a non-abrasive liquid detergent. Use special products to remove stubborn stains. After cleaning, dry the unit until it is completely dry.
- All accessories, with the exception of sliding shelves, can be washed like everyday cooking equipment and are also safe to wash in a dishwasher.
- Do not use any type of steam cleaners or high-pressure cleaning units.
Change the oven light
- Disconnect the oven from the power supply, either by pulling the plug out or by switching off the power supply at the mains.
- Remove the protection glass (A). (Textual description of diagram: A diagram shows the oven interior with protection glass 'A' indicated.)
- Replace the burnt-out bulb with one of the same type.
- Install the cover protection "A".
Removal of oven door
To facilitate cleaning, the oven door can be removed as follows:
- Insert hook A into hinge slot B (see figures). (Textual description of diagram: Diagrams show how to insert hook A into hinge slot B and how to unhook the door, indicating parts B, C, and A.)
- Half-open the door and, using both hands, pull the door towards you until it becomes unhooked.
- To refit the door, carry out the same operation in reverse, taking care to introduce the two sectors C correctly.
Clean the glass with a sponge and non-abrasive cleaning products, then dry with a soft cloth. Do not use materials that are abrasive or have sharp surfaces, as they can scratch the surface and cause the glass to crack.
Inspect the seal
Check the seals around the doors on a regular basis. If a seal is damaged, contact the MODENA service center for repair or replacement. It is advisable not to use the oven if seals have not been replaced or repaired.
