Design.

The bold, aerodynamic styling of the GT86 is enhanced by an exclusive '86' logo, part of the car's design DNA. Visually evoking four drifting tyres that form an '86' shape, the logo also represents the 86 mm bore and stroke of the boxer engine. It is featured between the two pistons logo on the front wings, on the steering wheel and on the rear of the car. Not surprisingly, the inner diameter of the exhaust tip is exactly 86 mm too.

A Toyota 'T' design is also found throughout, including the front grille, speedometer, rev counter and floor mats – even on the optional Alcantara® seating.

With 17" alloy wheels, new shark fin antenna and chrome twin rear exhausts, the world's most compact sports coupé has form just as powerful as function.

The GT86 has been engineered to fulfil one purpose - pure driving fun. The powertrain has been set as low and the engine as far back as possible to lower the centre of gravity whilst optimising weight distribution for great handling dynamics and a more exhilarating driving experience.

Performance.

With its lightweight body and a front-mounted 200 DIN hp 2.0 litre boxer engine combined with Toyota D-4S technology (direct-injection 4-stroke engine), the GT86 delivers ample power and torque.

Low centre of gravity: By adopting an ultra-low 460 mm centre of gravity, the GT86 delivers sheer driving pleasure.

Safety.

A host of safety features on the GT86 will give you all-round peace of mind with 7 SRS airbags (including driver's knee airbag) and Whiplash Injury Lessening (WIL) seats. And the GT86 protects you and your passengers even further with Traction Control (TRC), an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and a Tyre Pressure Warning System (TPWS).

In addition, GT86 features Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) with Normal or Sport modes to suit your driving style and a Snow mode on A/T providing increased gear shift sensitivity and more direct acceleration control in snow or other slippery conditions.

Tyre Pressure Warning System (TPWS): The system features a sensor valve within each wheel to constantly monitor tyre air pressure, ensuring safer driving, better tyre wear and greater fuel efficiency.

Vehicle Stability Control (VSC): To suit your driving style, the switchable VSC system is adjustable through two driving modes: Normal or Sport.

Comfort.

Every detail of the GT86 has been crafted to deliver pure excitement. The interior features a functional and ergonomic steering wheel, carbon-effect trim and instrument panel as well as aviation-style rocker switches. Sports seats offer maximum lateral support against cornering forces and there are even knee pads for particularly spirited driving.

Control.

Entirely driver-focused, every control is within easy reach, including the convenience of Toyota Touch®, cruise control and dual-zone automatic air conditioning. The smallest steering wheel found on any Toyota means an easier grip and enhanced driver control. Lightweight aluminium pedals are perfectly placed, while the short gear shift falls naturally to hand.

The dashboard layout provides at-a-glance visibility and readability. The engine start button is located on the centre console, for a quick and easy departure. Just press it and you're ready to go!

2.0L D-4S boxer: The lightweight, front-mounted 2.0 litre boxer engine uses Toyota D-4S technology, combining direct and port injection to deliver more power, torque and fuel efficiency while still lowering CO2 emissions.

Smart Entry & Start System: Instead of a conventional key, the Smart Entry & Start System features a transmitter that allows you to unlock the doors by pulling the handle and lock them again by pressing a button. To start or stop the engine, simply press the Start/Stop button. All you need to do is carry the Smart Entry key in your pocket or handbag.

High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlights: HID headlights use less energy and are more than twice as bright as conventional halogen bulbs. This provides a safer night-time drive, especially in poor weather. These distinctive headlights are equipped with an automatic beam-levelling control to reduce glare.

Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD): ABS prevents the wheels from locking while braking. EBD complements this by optimising brake force distribution between each wheel to compensate for different loads. Together the two systems help you to maintain steering control when braking heavily.

Dusk sensor: The dusk sensor monitors light levels and automatically switches on the headlights when the light is low.

Brake Assist (BA): If you attempt an emergency stop, BA will detect this and apply additional brake pressure. This enables ABS to work to its maximum potential.

Traction Control (TRC): If you accelerate too hard and cause the drive wheels to lose grip and begin spinning, TRC will automatically reduce engine power and control brake force to help restore traction.

Whiplash Injury Lessening (WIL) seats: During an impact at lower speeds and particularly from the rear, WIL seats and headrests cushion the head and back. This reduces the risk of whiplash injuries.

Toyota Touch®: Toyota Touch® is a 6.1" colour touch screen with multimedia capabilities that displays vehicle information, and is also linked to a rear-view camera for safer reversing.

Designed to minimise maintenance: The GT86 is designed and engineered to minimise maintenance. There are fewer parts that require servicing and those that do are more durable to extend service intervals. GT86 technology is made easily accessible so that labour time is minimised. Competitively priced Toyota spares ensure the lowest cost for maintaining your GT86.

Toyota quality service: Your Toyota retailer is here to help and guide you in all your service requirements. Your GT86 will need a full Health and Safety check, dependent on driving style and conditions, up to once every two years or 30,000 km (whichever comes sooner). An intermediate Health and Safety check is necessary every year or 15,000 km (whichever comes sooner).

Comprehensive warranty: 3-year vehicle warranty covers any defect caused by a manufacturing or assembly fault. It is valid for 3 years of normal use or 100,000 km, whichever comes first, with no mileage limitation for the first year.

If the car is immobilised due to a breakdown (as a result of a defect covered under warranty), you will also be covered for the cost of towing your vehicle to the nearest authorised Toyota repairer.

3-year paint warranty: Covers surface rust and paint defects appearing on any of the painted body panels as a result of a fault in materials for a period of 3 years, regardless of mileage.

12-year anti-perforation warranty: Covers against perforation of the bodywork (from inside to outside) that develops due to corrosion caused by faults in materials or workmanship, regardless of mileage.

Low parts & labour charges: GT86 is designed to minimise the cost of accident repair. Energy-absorbing elements are built into the bumpers, expensive-to-replace parts are located away from damage zones, and commonly damaged body parts are bolted rather than welded. As a result, the extent of damage is limited and damaged parts are easy to remove, replace or repair. Ultimately, this means very low parts and labour charges.

Toyota Eurocare: In order to help you enjoy peace of mind driving, we are pleased to provide 3 years’* Toyota Eurocare roadside assistance coverage in no fewer than 40 European countries. If you experience a problem with your GT86, Toyota Eurocare offers several possibilities to keep you on the road.

Added security: The GT86 security system withstands the insurance industry's rigorous 5-minute attack test and provides excellent protection. The engine immobiliser is approved by Europe's major insurance companies.
