Before installing or using the product, read the installation, use, maintenance, and warranty instructions.

The long durability of Andres Glass Solutions (doors, windows, walls, shower solutions, mirrors) requires the product to be used for its intended purpose and with care, with regular maintenance ensuring the durability of the product.

CLEANING OF GLASS

  • Cleaning of glass in direct sunlight should be avoided, as this can leave streaks or stains because the cleaning agent dries quickly and cannot be wiped off the glass properly.
  • The regularity of cleaning the glasses depends on the environment surrounding the windows and the degree of dirt on the windows.
  • Cleaning of glass includes washing, rinsing, and drying.
  • Cleaning of glass begins with removing abrasive particles (e.g., dust) using clean water.
  • Then, apply a glass cleaner specifically designed for glass and clean it with a soft (microfiber) cloth or towel that does not contain sharp particles to avoid scratching the glass surface.
  • Rinse the glass with plenty of clean water.
  • Be sure to read the instructions for the specific cleaning product, as they may vary depending on the product.
  • Use a clean, soft (microfiber) cloth or towel to dry the glass.
  • After cleaning the windows, it is important to remove water and cleaning agent residues from the moldings, seals, and frames to prevent damage to these parts.

NB! When cleaning matted glass, remember that even if only one spot is dirty, the entire surface of the glass must be cleaned. Do not use excessive pressure when cleaning matted glass.

REMOVING VARIOUS STAINS FROM GLASS

  • Grease stains, oils, fats, and various sealants can be removed with a cleaning agent that contains a small amount of alcohol.
  • After using the cleaning agent, the glass should be rinsed clean with plenty of water.
  • Paint, cement, concrete mix – stains should be removed from glass as soon as possible, before they dry, with plenty of clean water.
  • The aforementioned stains cannot be removed from matted glass because the surface of the glass is permanently damaged, and the glass needs to be replaced.

MAINTENANCE OF GLASS SOLUTIONS

  • We recommend that glass solutions be maintained regularly as needed, especially in intensive conditions such as public saunas, swimming pool areas, and salt chambers. Failure to perform maintenance will reduce the product's lifespan.
  • When maintaining the glass, you must use washing, cleaning, and maintenance products specifically designed for glass products. Acidic and alkaline cleaning agents are prohibited.
  • Only a soft (microfiber) cloth should be used for maintenance, avoiding solid and sharp particles from getting between the cloth and the glass.
  • There should be no scratches or other damage to the glass surface, as these can cause the glass to break in the long term.
  • The use of abrasive cleaning agents and insoluble powders is strictly prohibited.
  • Although tempered glass is five times stronger than untempered glass, its edges or corners should not come into contact with a hard surface, as the slightest contact of an edge or corner with a hard surface can cause the glass to break.

MAINTENANCE OF VARIOUS PARTS OF PRODUCTS

  • The products contain various parts such as wood, metal, plastic, chrome, and anodized surfaces – which require special care under the same conditions as the maintenance of glass.
  • We recommend adjusting the hinges and, if necessary, lubricating the moving parts with oil intended for this purpose.
  • From time to time, the fastening part of the locks, handles, and other fasteners in glass solutions should be adjusted and carefully tightened.

MAINTENANCE OF WOODEN FRAMES

  • Doors with wooden frames are not recommended for use outdoors or near direct running water, which can cause paint defects and separation of profiles.
  • We recommend treating the wood with a protective agent that repels dirt and moisture. Wooden frames should be treated throughout with products intended for this purpose (greases, stains) no less than twice a year.
  • The ends of wooden frames must be treated with water-repellent protection to prevent the wooden profiles in the lower part of the frames from warping. A small gap should be left between the floor and the bottom of the frame to prevent the frames from rotting due to excessive moisture.

ADDITIONAL MAINTENANCE RECOMMENDATIONS

  • Stickers must be removed immediately after installation.
  • Glass warping of up to 3 mm per meter is permitted.
  • Welding and cutting work that involves sparks should be avoided near glass, as glass is sensitive, and such defects cannot be removed.
  • The condition of the glass mounting strips and seals should be checked periodically to ensure they are not loose.
