ALWAYS SWITCH OFF THE ELECTRICITY SUPPLY BEFORE CARRYING OUT ANY OPERATIONS ON THE APPLIANCE.

Hybrid Baffle Filters

Hybrid baffle filters should be cleaned frequently. Use a warm dishwashing detergent solution. They are dishwasher safe (use non-phosphate detergent). Discoloration may occur with phosphate detergents or due to water conditions, but it won't affect performance. This discoloration is not covered by warranty. To minimize or prevent discoloration, hand wash filters with mild detergent.

Non-Ducted Recirculation Filters

These filters should be changed every 3 to 6 months. Replace more often if your cooking style generates extra grease (e.g., frying, wok cooking).

Stainless Steel Cleaning

Do:

  • Regularly wash with a clean cloth or rag soaked with warm water and mild soap or liquid dish detergent.
  • Always clean in the direction of original polish lines.
  • Always rinse well with clear water (2 or 3 times) after cleaning. Wipe dry completely.
  • You may also use a specialized household stainless steel cleaner.

Don't:

  • Use any steel wool, stainless steel wool, or other scrapers to remove stubborn dirt.
  • Use any harsh or abrasive cleansers.
  • Allow dirt to accumulate.
  • Let plaster dust or any other construction residues reach the unit. During construction/renovation, cover the unit to prevent dust from sticking to the stainless steel surface.

Avoid when choosing a detergent:

  • Any cleaners that contain bleach will attack stainless steel.
  • Any products containing: chloride, fluoride, iodide, bromide will deteriorate surfaces rapidly.
  • Any combustible products used for cleaning such as acetone, alcohol, ether, benzol, etc., are highly explosive and should never be used close to a range.

12. Operation

Soft-touch control panel

NOTES: 1. Each time a key is pressed, a beep is emitted to acknowledge the command. To disable, when the fan and lights are OFF, press the Lights key (?) for 5 seconds. To re-enable, when the fan and lights are OFF, press the Lights key (?) again for 5 seconds. 2. Each time a key is pressed, its backlight turns ON. When a function is turned OFF, so does the corresponding key backlight.

Master ON/OFF ?: Press this key to turn on the light and the fan at the last saved intensity. The backlights of the master ON/OFF key, fan key, and light key turn ON. When either light or fan is ON, pressing this key memorizes the current fan speed and lighting level before shutting them OFF. Whenever an active function (light or fan) is turned ON directly, the master ON/OFF backlight turns ON. When the last active function is turned OFF, the master ON/OFF backlight also turns OFF.

Fan ?: When the fan is OFF, pressing this key turns ON the fan to the last saved speed. If no speed was saved, it defaults to LOW. To change speed, press again until the desired speed is reached (LOW, MEDIUM-LOW, MEDIUM-HIGH, HIGH, OFF). When the fan is ON (any speed), a long press turns the fan OFF and saves the current speed setting. Filter Cleaning Reminder: When the fan is turned OFF, the fan key backlight flashes slowly for 30 seconds, indicating it's time to clean the hood and filters. This happens every time the fan is turned OFF (and the timer hasn't been reset). Once cleaning is done, during the 30-second signal (and fan OFF), a long press on the fan key resets the timer and stops the flashing.

Lights ?: Press this key to turn ON the lights to the last saved intensity. If no intensity was saved, it defaults to LOW. To change intensity, press again (LOW, MEDIUM, HIGH, OFF). When lights are ON, a long press turns them OFF and saves the current intensity. The next time lights are turned ON, they will use the last saved intensity.

Auto (SMART SENSE ?): When the fan is OFF, press this key to enable Auto mode. When cooking activity is detected, the fan speed adjusts automatically based on heat. The fan turns OFF when sufficient heat is no longer detected. The Auto key backlight turns OFF after 3 minutes of inactivity. Pressing any key turns it back ON. To disable Auto mode, press and hold the Auto key until its backlight turns OFF.

Manual fan speed adjustment in Auto mode: While Auto mode is active, you can manually change fan speed using the fan key. The Auto key backlight turns OFF, indicating Auto mode is paused (until the fan is manually turned OFF). When heat is sufficiently low, Auto mode will re-enable automatically.

Auto Mode Characteristics:

  • The Auto Mode sensor measures cooking-related temperature on the range/cooktop.
  • Fan speed may increase when removing a pan from a hot surface due to sensor detection.
  • Fan may turn OFF at very low cooking temperatures, especially with induction units.
  • Fan may temporarily turn OFF when adding cold/frozen items; it will automatically turn back ON as items heat up.
  • Fan may start automatically when opening a hot oven or running a self-cleaning cycle.
  • A short delay may occur at the start of cooking as the pot/pan heats up.
  • It is normal for the fan to remain ON for a short period after cooking until the surface/pot/pan cools down.

WiFi/Bluetooth®: See next page.

HEAT SENTRY™ ?

Your unit has a HEAT SENTRY™ thermostat that turns on or speeds up the blower if it senses excessive heat above the cooking surface. 1) If blower is OFF, it turns ON to HIGH speed. 2) If blower is ON at a lower speed, it turns UP to HIGH speed. When temperature drops, the blower returns to its original setting.

NOTE: When Heat Sentry is activated, the fan key backlight flashes slowly, and fan speed cannot be changed.

⚠️ WARNING

The HEAT SENTRY thermostat can start the blower even if the hood is turned OFF. In this case, the blower cannot be turned OFF with its switch. If you must stop the blower, set the main power switch (located behind the hybrid baffle filters, on the inner side of the unit faceplate) to the OFF position (if safely possible). See inset in Figure 32.
