Product Description
Shelly 3EM-63 Gen3 is a compact energy meter designed for monitoring either three-phase systems or three independent single-phase circuits. It provides real-time reports on the accumulated energy, instantaneous voltage, current, active power, and apparent power for each phase or channel. The Device stores data in 1-minute intervals in non-volatile memory, which you can retrieve for the last 7 days.
The Device has an embedded web interface accessible at http://192.168.33.1 when connected directly to the Device access point, or at its IP address when you and the Device are connected to the same network. The Device can access and interact with other smart devices or automation systems if they are in the same network infrastructure. Shelly Europe Ltd. provides APIs for the devices, their integration, and cloud control. For more information, visit https://shelly-api-docs.shelly.cloud.
Installation Instructions
ⓘ Note: Follow the K->L marking on the Device for correct energy-flow measurement. To adapt the Device to various types of connections, you may need to replace the flat terminals of Device wires with other suitable wire lugs or connections. Follow the applicable local regulations.
Three-Phase Setup
Shelly 3EM-63T Gen3:
- Insert the Neutral wire of the load circuit along with the Neutral (Blue) wire of the Device into the screw terminal of the circuit breaker Neutral pole (See Fig. 1). Tighten the screw to secure the wires in place.
- Pass the phase wires of the load circuit through the apertures of the Device.
- Insert the phase wires of the load circuit along with the flat terminals of the Device into the screw terminals of the circuit breaker phase poles. Tighten the screws to secure the wires and the flat terminals in place.
Diagram Description (Fig. 1): Illustrates the connection of Neutral and Phase A, B, C wires for a three-phase setup using the Shelly 3EM-63T Gen3, showing connections to a circuit breaker.
Shelly 3EM-63W Gen3:
- Insert the Neutral wire of the load circuit along with the Neutral (Blue) wire of the Device into the screw terminal of the circuit breaker Neutral pole (See Fig. 2). Tighten the screw to secure the wires in place.
- Pass the phase wires of the load circuit through the apertures of the Device.
- Insert the phase wires of the load circuit together with the phase wires (Brown for Phase A, Black for Phase B, and Gray for Phase C) of the Device into the screw terminals of the circuit breaker phase poles. Tighten the screws to secure the wires in place.
Diagram Description (Fig. 2): Illustrates the connection of Neutral and Phase A, B, C wires for a three-phase setup using the Shelly 3EM-63W Gen3, showing connections to a circuit breaker with specific wire colors indicated.
Note: The Neutral pole of some 4-pole circuit breakers may be positioned to the right of the phase poles. In some electrical systems, the Neutral should not be disconnected by a circuit breaker. In this case, connect the Neutral wires of the Device and the load circuit to the Neutral bus, following your local regulations.
Monophase Setup
Shelly 3EM-63T Gen3:
- Pass the phase wires of the load circuits through the apertures of the Device (See Fig. 3).
- Insert the phase wires of the load circuits along with the flat terminals of the Device into the screw terminals of circuit breakers. Tighten the screws to secure the wires and the flat terminals in place.
- Connect the Neutral wires of the Device and the load circuit to the Neutral bus, following your local regulations.
Diagram Description (Fig. 3): Illustrates the connection of a single phase wire and Neutral wire for a single-phase setup using the Shelly 3EM-63T Gen3, showing connections to a circuit breaker.
Shelly 3EM-63W Gen3:
- Pass the phase wires of the load circuits through the apertures of the Device (See Fig. 4).
- Insert the phase wires of the load circuits along with the phase wires (Brown for Phase A, Black for Phase B, and Gray for Phase C) of the Device into the screw terminals of circuit breakers. Tighten the screws to secure the wires and the flat terminals in place.
- Connect the Neutral wires of the Device and the load circuit to the Neutral bus, following your local regulations.
