Product Overview
The Eaton EMR6 series relays are designed for liquid level monitoring applications. They utilize electrodes to detect the presence or absence of liquid at specific levels, controlling pumps or valves accordingly.
Front View and Operating Controls
a) Indication of Operational States with LEDs
- U(/T): Green LED - Indicates control supply voltage and timing status.
- R: Yellow LED - Indicates the status of the output relays (energized).
- MIN/MAX: Yellow LED - Indicates the state of the electrodes (e.g., MIN and MAX wet, MIN wet).
b) Adjustment of Resistance Threshold Value
Allows setting the sensitivity for detecting liquid based on resistance.
c) Preselection of Resistance Range
(Only for EMR6-N1000-N-1 and EMR6-N1000-A-1) Selects the appropriate resistance range for the liquid being monitored.
d) Function Selector Switch
Determines the operational mode of the relay:
- ↑ Fill: Fill mode.
- ↓ Drain: Drain mode.
- ↑A Fill, ON-delayed: Fill mode with a delay before the output activates.
- ↑B Fill, OFF-delayed: Fill mode with a delay after the liquid level drops below the minimum.
- ↓A Drain, ON-delayed: Drain mode with a delay before the output activates.
- ↓B Drain, OFF-delayed: Drain mode with a delay after the liquid level reaches the maximum.
e) Adjustment of Time Delay
(Only for EMR6-N1000-A-1) Allows fine-tuning of the delay periods.
Electrical Connection
Refer to the unit's side label for the rated control supply voltage (Us).
Control Supply Voltage:
- A1-A2
- A2-A3
Output Relay Terminals:
- 11-12/14
- 1115-1216/1418
- 2125-2226/2428
Attention: For switching currents greater than 2 A, ensure a minimum lateral spacing of 10 mm (0.394 in) between units.
Electrode Connection
- C: Reference electrode.
- MIN: Minimum level electrode.
- MAX: Maximum level electrode.
The liquid level monitoring relays can also be operated with only two electrodes (C and MAX). In this configuration, the output relay contacts switch when the liquid level reaches the MAX point.
