Technical Data

Product Overview

The Eaton EMR6 series relays are designed for liquid level monitoring applications. They utilize electrodes to detect the presence or absence of liquid at specific levels, controlling pumps or valves accordingly.

Front View and Operating Controls

a) Indication of Operational States with LEDs

b) Adjustment of Resistance Threshold Value

Allows setting the sensitivity for detecting liquid based on resistance.

c) Preselection of Resistance Range

(Only for EMR6-N1000-N-1 and EMR6-N1000-A-1) Selects the appropriate resistance range for the liquid being monitored.

d) Function Selector Switch

Determines the operational mode of the relay:

e) Adjustment of Time Delay

(Only for EMR6-N1000-A-1) Allows fine-tuning of the delay periods.

Electrical Connection

Refer to the unit's side label for the rated control supply voltage (Us).

Control Supply Voltage:

Output Relay Terminals:

Attention: For switching currents greater than 2 A, ensure a minimum lateral spacing of 10 mm (0.394 in) between units.

Electrode Connection

The liquid level monitoring relays can also be operated with only two electrodes (C and MAX). In this configuration, the output relay contacts switch when the liquid level reaches the MAX point.

Wiring Diagrams Description

For EMR6-N100-N-1 and EMR6-N1000-N-1:

Terminal connections include A1-A2, 11-12, 14-12, 14-18, 12-16, A2-A3. Supported wire sizes are 1x0.5-4.0 mm² (2x0.5-2.5 mm²) or 1x20-12 AWG (2x20-14 AWG). Recommended torque for connections is 0.6-0.8 Nm.

For EMR6-N1000-A-1:

Terminal connections include A1-A2, 11-14, 21-24, 12-18, 16-28, A2-A3. Supported wire sizes are 1x0.5-2.5 mm² (2x0.5-1.5 mm²) or 1x18-14 AWG (2x18-16 AWG). Recommended torque for connections is 0.6-0.8 Nm.

Function Diagrams Description

a) EMR6-N100-N-1, EMR6-N1000-N-1: Drain

Illustrates the relay draining a tank. The U/T (green) LED indicates control voltage and timing. The R (yellow) LED indicates the output relay is energized when the liquid level drops below the MIN electrode. The MIN/MAX (yellow) LED indicates the state of the electrodes.

b) EMR6-N1000-N-1: Fill

Illustrates the relay filling a tank. The U/T (green) LED indicates control voltage and timing. The R (yellow) LED indicates the output relay is energized when the liquid level reaches the MAX electrode. The MIN/MAX (yellow) LED indicates the state of the electrodes.

c) EMR6-N1000-A-1: Drain

Shows the drain function for the EMR6-N1000-A-1 model, illustrating the relay's operation based on liquid level and selected delay function (ON-delayed or OFF-delayed).

d) EMR6-N1000-A-1: Fill

Shows the fill function for the EMR6-N1000-A-1 model, illustrating the relay's operation based on liquid level and selected delay function (ON-delayed or OFF-delayed).
