Operating Instructions
WARNING: Fire Hazard
- No washer can completely remove oil. Do not dry anything that has had any type of oil on it, including cooking oils.
- Items containing foam, rubber, or plastic must be dried on a clothesline or by using an Air Cycle.
- Failure to follow these instructions can result in death or fire.
WARNING: Do not wash water-resistant or water-repellent clothing. Failure to follow these instructions closely may result in abnormal vibrating and out-of-balance conditions, potentially leading to injury, property damage, and/or appliance damage.
- Add Detergent and Laundry Products: Add HE Detergent into the basket and laundry products into the dispenser. Whirlpool suggests using the Downy Ball® dispenser.
- Sort & Load Laundry: Sort and load laundry into the basket, then close the lid.
- Turn On Washer: Touch the Power button [power-symbol].
- Select Cycle: Turn the dial to select the desired cycle for your load.
- Select Options: Touch to select additional options such as temperature, rinse options, or fabric softener.
- Adjust Settings: Adjust cycle settings if desired.
- Start Cycle: Touch and hold the Start/Pause button [play-pause-symbol] to begin the cycle.
NOTE: Not all cycles, settings, or options are available with all models.
NOTE: If the washer detects an out-of-balance condition, it may pause and attempt to resolve the issue. During this time, the Sense and Rinse/Spin status indicators will briefly illuminate.
Choosing the Right Cycle & Loading Recommendations
Choosing the Right Cycle: The Normal cycle with Warm water is recommended for cottons, linens, and mixed garment loads.
Loading Recommendations: For best performance, load items by dropping them loosely and evenly around the basket wall. Do not lay items lengthwise.
