Printer Emulations Overview

Zebra's Printer Emulations offer virtual devices that enable the use of various printer command languages. These emulations are optimized for fast throughput and high-quality label and receipt printing. They can be installed on a single printer and managed securely using Zebra's Printer Profile Manager Enterprise application.

Discover the range of supported emulations, including PDF, Datamax, ESC-POS, Intermec, Monarch, and Sato, as well as Apex, Boca, Label Point, Microcom, O'Neil, Printronix, and TEC.

Finding and Installing Printer Emulations

Printer Emulations can be downloaded from the Zebra website at zebra.com. Installation can be performed using tools like the Printer Setup Utility for Android and iOS, Printer Setup Utility for Windows, or Z-Downloader for Windows.

Programmatic PDF Printing

Zebra provides multiple ways to print PDFs programmatically:

  • Link-OS Multiplatform SDK: Utilize the `sendFileContents()` API for seamless integration with various connectivity options like Serial Port, USB, Bluetooth, Network, and WebSocket.
  • Cloud-based Printing: Employ the `SendFileToPrinter` API for cloud-based printing solutions.
  • Browser Print SDK: Leverage JavaScript for browser-based printing, enabling direct PDF sending from web applications.
