This device detects and repels cats, dogs, squirrels, foxes, and other nuisance animals using powerful ultrasound. It is safe for domestic pets if used correctly.
Key Features:
- Detects and repels animals using ultrasound.
- Safe for domestic pets when used correctly.
- Range: Up to 10 metres in a 120° arc.
- Coverage: Protecting over 100 square metres.
Precautions & Important Information
- For outdoor use only.
- Never use the device for purposes other than those described in this user manual. Ensure the device does not affect people or pets such as mice, rats, hamsters, gerbils, guinea pigs, rabbits, squirrels, and ferrets from a short distance (less than 1 m) for a long period of time. Do not set up the device in children's rooms.
- Do not use the Repeller near rodent pets such as mice, rats, hamsters, gerbils, guinea pigs, rabbits, squirrels, and ferrets.
- Do not attempt to open the Repeller or gain access to its internal parts.
- The Ultrasound of the Repeller will not affect any electronic equipment, including pacemakers, garage door openers, remote controls, and similar devices.
- The Repeller is not effective on animals with impaired hearing.
- Remove from the area all foodstuffs that might attract unwanted animals.
- Over time, animals can get used to an acoustic transmitter. Reposition the Repeller every few days or set up several Repellers to avoid this.
How Your Product Operates
Humans can hear sound frequencies up to 20,000Hz. Sound above this frequency is called 'Ultrasound'. Animals can hear Ultrasound, but find it so distressing that they will make every effort to get away from it.
When the Repeller is set up, its sensor 'eye' detects the movement of animals in the area it is covering. Any movement stimulates the unit to transmit from its loudspeaker a 5-second burst of sound varying in pitch between 13,000 and 60,000 Hz. This drives the nuisance animals from the area. The sensor 'eye' flashes blue when sound is being transmitted.
Installation
Positioning the Repeller
- Screw the metal pole supplied into the base of the unit.
- Select a position for the unit, taking into account the following:
- The sensor 'eye' must point towards the area from which you want to repel nuisance animals (the range is 10m from the unit in a 120° arc).
- Ultrasound will not pass through solid objects like walls, fences, trees, and garden furniture, so position the unit where obstructions are minimal.
- The unit should be placed away from other sources of loud noise, like busy roads or playgrounds.
- The solar panel on top of the unit needs to receive as much sunlight as possible to keep the batteries charged, so choose a sunny spot.
- The unit is rainproof and can be sited anywhere outdoors.
- Push the metal pole into the ground until the unit is about 15 cm above ground level. Ensure the pole is vertical so that the 'eye' is pointing straight ahead and is not facing up or down.
Controls
Left-hand Knob
This sets the distance over which the unit operates. Turning the knob clockwise increases the range from zero up to the maximum 10 metres and also increases the sensitivity of the 'eye'.
Right-hand Knob
This is the 'off' switch and also the 3-position selector which lets you choose the types of animal you want to repel:
- Position 1: Mice & Rats
- Position 2: The above plus Cats, Martens, Weasels, Stoats, Mink, Rabbits, Hares, Squirrels and other medium-size animals.
- Position 3: The above plus Foxes, Dogs, Boar, Deer and other large animals.
Note: At Position 3, the unit transmits both Ultrasound and sound that humans can hear.
Batteries
Fitting the Batteries
You will need four AA Mignon (NiMH 1.2V) rechargeable batteries to power the unit (these are not supplied). Charge them fully in a standard battery charger.
Using a cross-head screwdriver (Typ PH1), remove the battery cover from the back of the unit and insert the four batteries (check that the polarity is correct). Refit the cover and close it tightly. Switch the right-hand knob on the front of the unit to "off" to prevent unnecessary power consumption.
Notes on Batteries
If the sensor 'eye' flashes a red light while the unit is in use, it indicates that there has been insufficient sunlight to keep the batteries charged. It is necessary then to remove the batteries and charge them fully as described above.
If the unit is not used for a long period of time (e.g., over winter), the life of the batteries will be preserved if they are removed from the unit. Charge them up before refitting them when bringing the unit back into use.
Maintenance and Cleaning
The Repeller requires no maintenance. To clean, wipe the outside of the unit and the solar panel with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or chemical agents.

Dispose of all parts in an appropriate and safe way and in compliance with your national regulations and local environmental standards. This electrical product should not be disposed of in regular household waste. Take it to your household waste recycling centre or civic amenity site.
