Introduction
This document outlines the recommended compatibility information between FortiOS 7.x versions and select FortiAP models and firmware versions. Use the tables to determine which FortiAP firmware version is compatible with which FortiOS version.
The following FortiAP series are covered:
- FortiAP
- FortiAP-C
- FortiAP-S
- FortiAP-U
- FortiAP-W2

FortiAP
[information] We recommend that the FortiAP firmware version be matched with the respective FortiOS version when available. Other variations of FortiOS and FortiAP versions may technically work for the lowest common feature set. However, if problems arise, Fortinet Support will ask that the versions be matched, as recommended, before troubleshooting.

FortiAP-U
The FortiAP-U version listed represents the earliest version compatible with the corresponding FortiOS version. In general, FortiAP-U can be upgraded to a later version and still work with that FortiOS version for the lowest common feature set.
